Ive noticed that most posts here are about doing the Gigas Breaker. What about the other super?
I like to mix it up alot to keep my opponent guessing… and it usually works 9/10 of the time.
Megaton Press is great for when you’re keeping your opponent in the corner as no one wants to jump! Not that they have to anyway to have it work on them. Treat it like a Gigas for the hcb+p set up and its all over. The hcb+p is actually less likely to whiff than the 360. Less damage is always good!
SAII is just kinda dull for me, not as much damage as I & no neat combos like III but i’ll usually pick it when Im’ bored of the other two, other than that I really dont know any good set ups for it other than waiting for the opponent to jump, randomly yet strategically throwing out an ultra throw, or doing a GPB when they jump in cause parry or no parry they cant escape it.
Most posts about the gigas usually refer to “How do I pull off tachi gigas’?” and not so much about which super is used the most. If you look back far enough there are posts refering to SA3 being the best if you wanna win matches as there are a lot more stuff that you can do with it. Anyone who is used to fighting Hugo aint gonna be scared off by the Megaton cos they’ll do early jumping attacks, against Gigas, they stay away and chip you to death.
Allways use SA3 it can combo/suprise/anything. For Bunnyjumpers “Backbreaker” will do. Same as for Gigas, you don’t need that really, just use “somersault press” they are just as good.
SUPER III HAMMER FRENZY… MY USES FOR THIS SUPER… HOPE TO SEE MORE HUGOS’S
can be used as combo, does alot of stun, for peeps that cant pull off gigas consistantly that causes the match, it has a very short bar and does alot of damage compared to other supers with same bar… parry a fp from chun and super3 the bitch… the handclap can serve as an antipoke when in a poking war if it connects LINK or cancel sa3(hold punch to run a few then release when close, the clap has a long hit stun depending on what version of clap you used fp being the longest hit stun)… akuma does a straight up jump airfireball up close u can super through it and suck him to the ground if timed right… rotate wakeups with super3 or grab, force players to GET OFF YOU!! jump rh has long hit stun u can land and do super for an easy and damaging combo, you can super after dud’s cork super, super after dud’s multipunch special, super through close up fireballs, its the poke war super since hugo has no other way to counter a parry when you parry a move out of grab range, example sweep max range shoto scrubs, instead of a poke of yours to retaliate doing a sa3 will benefit all the efforts it took to bait a parry plus u got crouching bonus damage 40 percent life 50 on akuma i think : )
though most of this has already been said i do so like to talk so here we go
when i first started playing i used heavenly hugo buster cuz i couldnt consistently pull off 720s on a dc pad and it was fine and dandy for a while until the only way i could connect with it was with and ultra throw and it just wasnt practical since it can get hit out of so easily
i then moved on to gigas, but then i learned i was only able to land it after parrying most of chun li’s stupid art 2, umm ok what i meant to say was it was my favorite wake up super for fools foolish enough to try and meaty me
generally speaking hammer mountain is the universally accepted bestest super (the strategery guide wouldnt lie to me) mostly because with it the hugoest becomes MOST COMBOING CHARACTER IN GAEM!!!11 umm yeah its scientific truth
gigas is also pretty terrible for ex usage though i only really use ex lariat for my sneaky “ho ho didnt think i could move that fast did you” and it doesnt trick them too often
