This hyper is tough. You can’t really air combo, can’t block, or walk… Your jumps are whack too.

Especially all the things she can do she can do without it with a feral stance input. Not as easily… But with a little work she can do that fancy stuff.

not sure if its a glitch, but i recently tried out in training mode that if you activate mad beast, then before the gauge runs out you can switch out to rebuild the meter gauge or save it for the last character!? more like activating Dark Phoenix mode then switching her out for anchor.

Are you asking if the timer on mad beast is infinite when switched out? If so yes that is not a bug all of the characters that have “power up” supers are like that. It is the reason hsien-ko golden armor assist can be so good.

Or are you saying that if you activate mad beast and switch out it gives you back your 3 meters?

If you can train them to start pushing push block you could delay and try to bait out a failed push block which should put out a move. Giving you the opening to actually kill them. I know if you have to sit there for 10 seconds mashing push block after about 5-6 seconds you get a habit and stop reacting and are more just expecting it to continue. And worst case scenario is that if they still block the hit you are able to get damage on them again because you arent going “full speed”

Lumalo I do 1 of two things, that isn’t to say there are not even more you could figure out but these are what work for me. The first is simple. You opponent sees you crouching and expects you to zoom past him. Instead you press up, She can’t actually jump so it is a very fast light jump that barely takes you off the ground. This allows for overheads. The other option is sit in your crouch mode until just before he recovers and you need to apply pressure again. You have trained him to press forward towards yourself. Cancel out of feral and do a normal dash toward him.

K two questions here guys, the first one is can any one help me weigh the pros and cons of X-23 vs. Jill as far a Dhc starter goes? I’ve played my fair share of X-23 and it seems like their bag of tricks is fairly similar. While they both have solid left/right mix up, X-23’s command grab feels poor in comparison to Jill’s. Not to mention Jill’s teleport is invincible (unlike X-23’s). X-23 leans more towards “pressuring” so she can make use of missed timed advance guards, while just from I’ve seen and figured out in the lab Jill has superior mix up she can mind fuck you from any direction lol.

X-23 has more health and in my opinion a bit of a safer if not fool proof pressure game due to light feint cancels keeping her block strings +11 on block, also my X-23 bnb does about 650-700 dmg while Jills “Pulsr” (highest damage I’ve seen yet lol) loop is a tad less. To put the icing on the cake I like the fact that X-23 has a low assist that otgs, while jill has ok assists. Can you lovely folks here help me distinguish why Jill would be a better choice over X-23, I love both these girls style and feel when I play them but X-23 seems like a more solid choice to me.

Second question who do you think the most solid Dhc partner is? Right now I’m stuck between Dante and Wesker (although any other opinions are gladly welcomed). They both have top tier assists and the meter build from both is great, the only real issue I have right now is that I feel when I dhc glitch to wesker the meter is use on his counter is wasted, while if I dhc to devil trigger I get a damage boost additional abilities and red health regen. Of course I could just be nit picking seeing as I’m spending a meter to more often than not kill a character but Dante feels a little more efficient in that regard:sweat:.

well like you said jill has much better mix ups, also jill doesnt need any assists to set up her DHC glitch starter but x23 does, also i think that overall jill has far better combos and has one of the best AA attacks in the game (somersault). On the other hand X23 has better air mobility, better block-strings and safer options imo. Thats all i can think of atm but doesnt jill have more health than x23?

For the DHC partner they both would work great rly, im leaning more towards dante because i think his assists are more useful for jill and x23 and i think he’s a better character in general. And i get what you mean about wasting a meter on wesker’s counter hyper but if you think about it you’re not wasting anything, if you dont use a power up hyper that means you can still build meter so with wesker you can actually build back the meter you used to end the DHC glitch. So in terms of meter efficiency wesker is actually better, but dante can do more damage and if you know your dante combos you wont need to burn a 3rd meter to kill them off, with wesker you might.

go for dante if your looking for a dhc glitch… his assists are much better suited for jill and their team hyper combo is very useful. remember any untechable knockdown can lead into massive damage with 2 bars when you have dante(any throw, M command throw etc…) To be completely honest i think jill+dante combination is also a good phoenix killer. when you snap phoenix in jam session into feral stance mix up… or when im fighting dark phoenix with both characters alive ill team hyper combo for lockdown then x factor and go for free mixups

quick question about jill’s cartwheel kick assist. Do you have to block that high as well? I’m messing around with Jill now and when I practice in the lab the computer blocks the cartwheel kick (qcf + B) high. Ok thanks

I use to play ETR quite a bit and I’m fairly certain he believes Jill is the stronger character you just have to use her right.

I’m trying to pick up jill and I like her so far. My biggest problem with her is dealing with pushblock. How do you guys get around pushblocking?

Arrow Kick , Feral B, Feral Dash or her crouching medium.

pretty much if you get push blocked you get into feral and either dash (depending on distance can cross up) or you B since it is safe on block.

maybe Sheva Alice or Ada Wong should be in the game since the new version of the game lacks woman.

So, have we talked about Machine Gun Spray resets in here yet? I’ve got quite a few Machine Gun Spray setups.

I doubt capcom in any way shape or form owns Alice, and if they do they probably want nothing to do with her. Chris and Wesker got STARS outfits so don’t be surprised when Jill gets hers. Even though I hate her look in RE3 (that’s what she wears while trying to escape a zombie infested city under martial law?) it’s hard to resist seeing her wear that in a fighting game that also features Nemesis.

For some reason, I kinda want Jill to be more like Cammy in UMvC3. Her FC+:h: is already essentially a Cannon Spike, and I think Spiral Arrow(or something similar) would fit into her repertoire perfectly.

Does Flash still play Jill? I could swear Ryan Hunter mentioned that he did this past Monday on a stream. I haven’t really seen him play Jill in months though, but I would love to. He did some good work with her.

How do guys feel about the jill vs dante/dormammu match-up? I can’t get anything going against either of those characters.
