The Master of DLC Unlocking -The Jill Valentine Thread

The problem is the controls. With the way they are now, the game would be too easy (as it basically is now). So what do you do? Do you intentionally half ass the controls to make it more difficult?

I think the next Resident Evil should be like Alan Wake, it was a third person shooter with this really thrilling and creepy atmosphere (most of the time) that still managed to suck you into the world without sacrificing control.

If they wanted they Capcom could even make the camera fixed and the controls a tad more sluggish for suspension and urgencies sake, but have those RE4/5 over the shoulder view when you get into a fight.

Oh, and I thought Dead Space was hella creepy. The first level always gets me. After that though, it’s pretty manageable.

Or you could just keep the premise and start from scratch.

I have to say though, seeing the G-mutant in graphics any better than what they were on the PS2 might just make me vomit. That shit was traumatic.

Nah. I don’t see a problem really. Make the zombies take more punishment, make weapons weaker, resources scarce etc. Minimalism!

Either way, I concede, I’m not winning this.

Thats the thing. People complain things are being to easy, but want fluid controls. All the scariest games are hard to play. Lose/lose lol. BTW this convo should probably be moved to the RE thread

But, a cool thing. I was contmplating on getting the Tokyo Marui Samurai Edge: Chris Model airsoft gun, but it was released limitidly and in 2000. :xeye: Why did you have to be so cool last century Capcom!!!?

Red Dead Redemptions UNDEAD NIGHTMAAAARE did really good action survival horror. Theres like no fuckin ammo, the zombies are actually frightening, and oh jesus christ is that a zombie bear

RE1-CV dont hold up well. I tried to play 3 because I never finished it when I was younger but the controls were so shitty.

RE 2 and 3 remade in RE4 style would be nice.

You might get your wish. Rumor has it that Slant Six, developers of SOCOM: Confrontation is working on a multiplayer based RE game supposely codenamed Resident Evil: Raccoon City
Rumor: Resident Evil In The Hands Of SOCOM Team

I’ve played every RE game but Resident Evil 0 is the shit. I love that game.

Leeches!

They in fact hold up awesomely. They actually take some effort, rather than just fucking punching everything in the face with your superhero characters.

lol. whatever dude. those old school controls for resident evil are ass. only thing remotely worse off the top of my head are the first 4 tomb raiders. lol @ running sideways.

I disagree. Classic RE games are the easiest, because there’s no need and most importantly no reward to fight. Half the time I’m simply avoiding Zombies, and when you get to an unskippable enemies you have so much ammo they aren’t even a problem. You might say that it is my problem for skipping the enemies, but I say it is just a poor excuse for not giving me reason to fight them.

The second problem is that classic RE games aren’t really scary at all. Most people thought they were (including me) because of the young age when we played them. Now if you think about it there’s nothing really scary about a dog jumping through the window. Granted there is big difference between a game that tries to be scary and fails (most RE games, Dead Space, new Silent Hill games etc.), this kind of game at least achieves some nice creepy atmosphere and a game that doesn’t try to be scary at all (RE5). That doesn’t mean that you cannot achieve some level of scariness with RE4-5 gameplay and controls though. Controls do not make a game scary all of a sudden.

Think about it, no constant co-op partner (or babysitting Ashley) to enhance the feeling of loneliness, higher difficulty (RE 5 Mercs or at least RE 5 Desperate Escape level), more difficult enemies (again RE 5 Mercs) like those annoying Reapers, who would be quite scary if there were more of them and if the ones you meet in the game were harder to kill (other enemies distracting you, fighting two of them at the same time, difficult to navigate stage etc.). And there you go, it might not be really scary, but at least it will be true to the rest of the series. That’s what I’m hoping RE: Revelations would be.

For the love of god WHY are they putting Revelations and Mercs on the 3DS. They seem LEGIT but I don’t want to buy another handheld that I’ll never touch once I beat the game I bought it for.

Regular Mercs:

Top Tier - Midnight Wesker

Upper Mid - STARS Wesker, Battlesuit Jill

Mid Tier - BSAA Jill, STARS Chris, Safari Chris

Lower Mid - BSAA Chris, Tribal Sheva, BSAA Sheva

Low Tier - Clubbin Sheva

Mercs Reunion

Top Tier - Excella

Upper Mid - Business Sheva, Barry, Rebecca

Mid Tier - Josh, Warrior Chris

Lower Mid - Fairy Tale Sheva

Low Tier - Heavy Metal Chris

I was at one time 4th overall best Battlesuit Jill. All this Mercs talk is making me hype.

I can’t wait to see some gameplay of Jill. Too bad I think it will be awhile before we get to see anything. I do think she will have a new move set and I honestly hope so. Also gotta have an old school alt for sure!

I just hope the Tyrant super is useful.

They (Shuma and Jill) should be in the next character trailers, which will probably come out alongside the Episode 3 cinematic. <__<

The good thing about Mercs is that every single character has a stage where they excel on.

Also, on topic, we won’t see any Shuma or Jill gameplay for a while. I doubt it at least. Wouldn’t be a good idea to show gameplay of DLC characters BEFORE characters in the actual game.

I doubt it. Seems like capcom only even announced them because of the gamestop leak, I bet they weren’t planned to be revealed until much later.
