The Marvel Q & A - Rebirth

Let’s see what’s been going on…

After Spider-Man’s storyline the other, his Spider Sense has become stronger once again, he can see in the dark and he has two claw like stingers that I can only imagine are made of bone that come out the back of his wrists like Wolverine. Iron Man is making him a red and yellow outfit loaded with gadgets. Um, yeah…

Apocalypse is back. No explanation on how he came back to life, all he said was the Mutants needed him now after the events of House of M, so he’s back. This is the second time he’s returned from the grave without an explanation. The first time was when he died in the events of Executioner’s Song but returned for the Onslaught storyline with no explanation whatsoever.

Since I keep forgetting to mention this, Magneto’s resurrection after Genosha was destroyed was explained during House of M. Scarlet Witch simply willed him to be alive at some point, obviously just before Excalibur’s(Genosha version with tentacle arm Callisto) run.

Another thing I forget to mention, Marvel Nemesis Rise of the Imperfects is supposed to take place within Marvel’s storyline before the events of Avengers Dissasembled. It actually works out very well. Even Magneto in the game is not spotted by any Marvel Characters, so he can still make his grand entrance at the end of Avengers Dissambelled to the rest of the heroes. The story would also have to take place before Venom slit his wrists of course, so Spidey would have web shooters in the game like he did during that story. Everything else seems to fit quite nicely. Still, even though it was meant to be something where Marvel would use the Imperfects in seperate stories/arcs/for their comics, this hasn’t happened as of yet, and none of the Imperfects have recieved bios in the Marvel Universe books(even though they can since they appeared in the comic book version, they have bios and Power Ratings in the game). So it doesn’t look like Marvel has embraced the Imperfects just yet. Maybe they will, maybe they won’t, who knows. Only Imperfect I like is The Wink myself…

Upcoming stuff -

Storm and Black Panther are getting married! Yes, one of our MVC2 characters is getting hitched! I’m not sure if this marriage will stick though. They are married in the alternate reality Earth X Future though. Most of the fans seem to want Wolverine and Storm to hook up. I was rooting for Psylocke/Wolverine Bishop/Storm but no one listens to me anyways…

Cyclops’ other Summers brother will finally be revealed in X-Men Deadly Genesis (this may have happened already, sometimes it’s tough for me to keep track of all these splinter X-Men limited series books i buy now and then…) alls I know is he ain’t Gambit like “X-Men The End” suggests and he did not loose his powers after the events of House of M.

I’m catching up on 3 months of back issues. When I get done, I’ll drop my 2 cents Sano.

Cool man. I can always use help on some of the MVC2 characters I don’t keep track of -

Colossus - Since he’s more or less exclusive to Astonishing X-Men and I don’t read that
Captain America - I can follow him in Avengers, but I don’t read his book. I know he’s fighting Winter Soldier/Ressurected Bucky
Iron Man - Don’t read his book but can follow him in Avengers
Hulk - Don’t read his book but can follow him in Defenders
Doctor Doom - Don’t read Fantastic Four
Thanos - Um, if and if he’s doing something right now in some book…
Daredevil, Elektra, Thing, Human Torch - Don’t read any of their books. Course these 4 are from Marvel Nemesis, I’m not sure if anyone wants this thread to keep up with any of them anyways but unlike them non Capcom X-Men fighting games Nemesis is supposed to carry on the Marvel versus license, so… I dunno… trust me, I’m not a Marvel Nemesis lover or anything but I think it would be nice if we kept track of them anyways (even though I can’t really since I don’t read their books…)

I buy all of the Marvel Universe books so I can keep up with a lot of them, but it’s tough if anything happens to these guys specific to their books, if it’s major or what not, I have no idea until a Marvel Universe book comes out and describes it. Any help from anyone would be cool, thanks!

i didn´t like defenders, it wasnt as bad as the second series, but still. When writers are trying to be funny you know there is something wrong.

Wolverine’s getting a Limited series called “Origins” with an ‘s’ at the end unlike his “Origin” series. After he had his memories returned to him, he’s on a quest to find answers, he’s supposed to face off against an unexpected advesary and have another storyline bomb/suprise dropped on him. This is not to be confused with the story running in his Wolverine comic where he faces off against Winter Soldier AKA Bucky. That should be… um… sort of interesting… if they have some WW2 flashbacks of some kind.

While Wolverine has all of his memories after the events in House of M, they are coming to him in bits and pieces.

Err, Spider-man’s new Red and Yellow robot outfit has something like robotic spider legs, looks something like Doctor Octopus’ tentacles. Thankfully Marvel said this suit is not going to make it up to 2007. Fudge that, I hope it doesn’t make it up to March 7 of this year but that’s just me…

Maybe his brother is making it to the actual storyline?

So another bullshit resurrection? (Apocalypse)

Typical Marvel.

Finally know what’s up with Sunfire. He has no powers and no legs. He was about to get some quality Marvel type prostetics, Forge-like most likely when Apocalypse convinced him to become one of his Horseman. Sunfire in Apocalypse’s dungeon heard the Mutant Gazer being tortured to be converted into a Horseman, so he regretted his decision and went to save Gazer, crawling on his belly. There’s already a Horseman of Pestilence right now, so it remains to be seen who Sunfire and Gazer will become.

Apocalypse has a sphinx pyramid with his face on it instead of the sphinx. It just appeared behind the X-Men’s Mansion, teleported from Egypt.

Oh yeah, for X-Men vs. SF and MSH vs. SF fans, you’ll be glad to know that in the last issue of X-Men he does say, “I AM THE APOCALYPSE!” when he meets Sunfire in the hospital bed at least.

EDIT: Checked again, he just says “I AM APOCALYPSE.” Was thrown because the word Apocalypse was in big ol’ bubble letters, which reminded me of how loud it sounded in the games and my memory’s kind of wonky sometimes but I think yall know that already lol!

So close yet…

Cyclops’ other brother has appeared in X-men Deadly Genesis. His name is Gabriel, his code name is Kid Vulcan. He has a mix of Cyclops’ and Havok’s powers, yellow eyes and he emits yellow waves of energy (not sure what kind yet). Apparently when the original members of the X-Men where caught on Krakoa Island there was another team of mutants that where under Moira McTaggert’s care that Prof. X sent after the original 5. This is before he sent Storm, Wolverine, Thunderbird, Sunfire, Colossus, Nightcrawler, you know, that team to go save them. Kid Vulcan was a member of the first team, one of Moira’s charges. We don’t know exactly what happened when the first team arrived on the island though. And he’s not exactly a kid anymore but he was back then. And of course Gabriel wants revenge on his brother Cyclops for some reason.

And of course they’ll mention why Corsair and even the spirit of their mother
(including grandparents) have NEVER mentioned him right?

PROFESSOR X MIND CONTROL!!! :wow:

EDIT: oh shit. What if Corsair wasn’t the Father? lol

Apparently the third Summers brother grew up in outer space, he was raised by a Shiar woman who he killed when his powers manifested. So most likely Cyclops’ parents had him last while they were in space, Prof. X is blocking out memories of him from everyone’s mind for some reason, he met Cyclops before back in the day, but they didn’t know they were brothers at the time.

They explained Mary Jane’s arm healing in a week during ‘The Other,’ lots of scientific mumbo jumbo but Iron Man fixed her up good with some advanced science.

Wolverine married a Japanese lady who was pregnant with his kid long ago in Japan. Bucky killed both his wife and unborn child. It was to draw out Wolverine, get him to investigate so the military or what have you could control him again, but he just teamed up with some other Japanese overlord and excepted the beast inside him since he can’t live a normal life, even when he tries.

Spider-Man’s new robot suit can transform his image, make it look like the red and blue outfit or even the black and white one. But they will prolly keep ramming the red and yellow down our throats for now.

Gambit is Apocalypse’s Horseman of Death now. He chose this, thought that Apocalypse had the answer for the severe lack of Mutants problem right now.

Sunfire is a Horseman now (Famine I think) and looks exactly like he did in Age of Apocalypse.

Oh God Marvel, stop it. JUST STOP IT.

For some reason when I read this I thought of Joe Quesada and Bendis dressed up as Puff Daddy and Mase singing, “No we can’t stop! And we won’t stop!”

Some updates later. Even something on the Imperfects! Well, don’t expect much on Imperfects…

Picked up Play’s 3rd annual Girls of Gaming and Anime magazine. To my shocking suprise, The Wink, Paragon, Elektra and Fault Zone all made it in! Solara and Storm got dissed! Well, Storm’s Marvel Capcom games Sprite > her Imperfects one. The Wink had the best bod IMHO in the game(that cut scene she had with Wolverine, she was God Tier…) Storm and Elektra became Calista Flockheart like… Anyway, here’s what it said about the Imperfects -

"The Wink, Paragon, Elektra, and Fault Zone

The Wink controls every molecule in her body (use your imagination), Paragon (complete with monoflamboyant blades) is one of the deadliest beings to ever walk the Earth, Fault Zone combines ballerina-like agility with seismic arms, and the only non-“Imperfect” shown, Elektra married Ben Afflek and got knocked up. Just a few of the deadly female contingents in EA’s first original fighter."

First original fighter? How can anyone forget about the classic that is Shaq Fu? Lol! Ah well, this is prolly the only update the Imperfects will ever get. On a rainy day maybe I’ll throw up their Power Ratings. Random stuff about the magazine -

2D characters were left out of this year’s Girls of Gaming ish, except for classics - they said they’ll do something about it next year(Come ooooon Baiken! And if collections count, don’t forget the Chunster!) Anyway, other characters that made it in the book you might care about - Lara Croft, Ada Wong of RE4, MJ, Liz, Sable and Sharon of Ultimate Spider-Man, Motoko Kusanagi for both the game and TV anime of Ghost in the Shell, Tala and Cassidy of Darkwatch, Kameo, Nami from the One Piece game, Julia of Castlevania Curse of Darkness, Reith, Rothy, Rehath, Carian of Magna Carta, Kaileena of Prince of Persia, Joanna Dark, Venus and Lady Butterfly of Devil Kings, Cassandra, Ivy, Setsuka, Seungmina, Taki, Talim, and Tira of Soul Calibur 3, Kokoro and La Mariposa of DOA 4 (and it featured an interview with Itagaki acting like the jerk he always comes off as. When asked who he thought was the most beautiful woman in the world was he said “No one.” Okay buddy, time to step away from the Xbox 360… When asked who was his favorite character he seemed annoyed saying it was Kasumi and “How many times have I answered this question in the past 10 years?” Lol!) Mileena and Sonya of Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, Dixie and Reiko of Rumble Roses, for classic games they had Alishia Dragoon and Blaze Felding of Streets of Rage. Bunch of girls for the Anime section were there, but my homegirl Fuu of Samurai Champloo was down. Anyway, there’s a crap load of names, flip through it in a store if you see it.

Back to Marvel, Marvel Spoilers and more corny jokes to go along with them -

Spider-Man - He can fly with his new suit. His Wolverine rip off stingers come out on their own when he’s fighting against someone with mystical abilities, since his stingers are mystical in nature. Okay get the Spider-Man far away from Dr. Strange and his homeboy villains so we never see his stingers again…

Uncle Ben is back, but according to Nemesis00 of SRK it’s Uncle Ben of another reality…

Doctor Doom - Seems like he’s getting Thor’s Hammer…

Hulk - The Illuminati in Marvel, Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Sub Mariner, Dr. Strange and Black Bolt decided what to do with Hulk after he destroyed Las Vegas and killed a bunch of people. They sent Doc Banner to work on a space sattelite, then they blew it up. Subby wasn’t down with the idea. How they gonna punk Hulk like that? Oh well this is how he winds up on Planet Hulk.

Psylocke - Her return from the grave has finally been explained. Jamie Braddock did it, as was speculated. He’s the one who upped her powers, getting her ready for something bad that’s coming that only she can stop. Hmm, my guess is that Happosai of Ranma 1/2 is coming to the Marvel Universe and one look at Ninja Slut will prolly give him a heart attack…

Oh god my brain!!! :wasted:

BUMP!

Just wanted to point out that Shuma-Gorath has returned! He appeared in Marvel Knights 4 issues 26 and 27. An extra special thanks to Nemesis00 for pointing that out! These issues are only a few months old so they aren’t that hard to track down. Shuma-Gorath returns, then gets tossed into another dimension by Dr. Strange, that’s the short version of it. It was nice of him to get another comic book appearance after a number of years…

Heh, there’s a War Machine Sentinel now… two MVC2 characters do the Dragon Ball Fusion dance! Okay not really, but it’s a Sentinel made to look like War Machine with a human pilot inside.

Doom didn’t get Thor’s hammer afterall. He followed it when it went flying through Hell after Ragnarok and when Mjolner landed on Earth and broke through Hell Doom wasn’t far behind, that’s how Doom came back from Hell. While he was on Earth he plotted for some time to get Mjolner, but he realized he couldn’t lift it afterall. Almost everything is pointing to the original Thor coming back and possible having a showdown with Sentry, heh heh…

Most of the MVC2 heroes except for Hulk who’s doing his Planet Hulk thing are up to their necks in Civil War, like, seriously go read that, it’s freaking good…

So…Stephen beat him easily?

They didn’t show the whole fight between Strange and Shuma-Gorath this time (only the beginning of it)as it mostly focused on the Fantastic Four fighting against Nicholas Scratch. But after Strange returned from banishing Shuma-Gorath he looked like someone beat the crap out of him, he really got jacked up pretty bad…
