Oh, wow. Browsing Netflix and i saw they made a follow-up to that terrible Kickboxer remake. Itās (2017)Kickboxer Retaliation. It now has the guy from GoT, āThe Mountainā as the villain. Nope. Donāt care.
Oh, JCVD came back for it? Darnit, i love JCVD but⦠iām not sitting through this crap. These movies are disgrace to the JCVD Masterpeice anyway.
Wait, wait⦠is that Christopher Lambert?! No, damnit no. Nice try movie but iām still not watching this POS.
Edit: And who was really clamoring for a sequel anyway?
So predator but lame
The Coppola name must still ring bells in Hollywood.
Haha! Just saw this movie yesterday. It was BETTER than i thought it was going to be but, didnāt quite reach the heights of zany action that i was hoping for.
I think the problem was, this movie held back on the silliness and tried to be a bit serious. When they should have just cut-loose entirely.
Overall, 7/10. And by far THE BEST movie Alain Moussi has Done! Those Kickboxer remakes were fugginā stupid and failed utterly. This was actually Good!
Edit: Also the ārulesā for the alien-fighting tournament were not exactly explained. I mean, i know the alien has super-healing and basically immortal but, he should STOP when he gets Bested in a fight and receives a critical hit that would have killed any man. Nope, he heals and keeps fighting till he eventually wears them down. So much for being āhonorableā. That Alien is a cheating biatche!
I might check it out if or when it comes to Netflix or Prime. But I think I was turned off becasue of the name since I donāt really care for Jujitsu. LOL!!! Had they called it Karate I would have been all for it. Speaking of Karate, check out a movie on Prime call Karate Kill. LOL!!!
Lmfaoooo āthatās it⦠Good violenceā
The running joke with everyone though, is the name is all wrong. From what iāve heard, actual Jiu Jitsu style DOES NOT teach swordplay, nunchuks, Ninja-Shurikenās, and all the crazy flying kicks seen in the movie. So itās kinda mis-named.
Anyway, the movie was Good. Not great but, Good. Nic Cage was good in it also and i dig the concept, as silly as it can be.
Edit: Also Angry Joe did a review of the movie! Itās how i heard about it.
Two main styles of jiu jitsu are Japanese jiu jitsu and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Japanese employs more throws and wrist locks kinda like akido
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is submission wrestling.
Itās roots are in judo
Ok. Which one of them teaches Sword-dueling, nunchuks, Ninja-Stars, etc? Because there was LOT of that in the movie.
Uhh thought it was obvious from my description. Neither lol
What is funny is there is more jiu jitsu in ip man
This movie chose jiu jitsu out of name popular martial arts google.
Could have been called threat level midnight
Just found out that Scott Adkins has a youtube channel almost 700K subs, he has a podcast where he interviews big names, worth checking out - Scott Adkins - YouTube
Latest one is with Joey Ansah (OldGuard/Street Fighter/Bourne)
@Gimpy Michael Jai White playing a bookish family man?! Has his wife done any other work? Iām a sucker for the ādonāt mess with my familyā movie genre.
Scott Adkins is a good egg. It took me a while to come around to his work, but now Iām a fan.
