The MarsGatti Farewell/Peace Out Thread

Oh shit that’s awesome.

Homo-phobe Guile is still at it, it seems.

Wow… I don’t even know why people bring that crap up. At some point, wouldn’t it just be better to say “They’re idiots, let the masses talk amongst themselves?” I don’t know…

Anyway, new season of SYTYCD, I’m pretty excited. I have to catch up a little bit but this whole All-Star season thing could be really good…

For everyone that lives in California, be sure to vote tomorrow (June 8) to legalize Marijuana!!!

Now I’m not a pot head or anything (Don’t smoke), but you’ll be legalizing something that should have never been illegal in the first place. It’s a renewable resource that you can grow a shit ton of.

If California legalizes marijuana, then other states may follow suit.

Do eet!

Truth.

You euro guys don’t seem to get along.

Washington D.C. voted (better than 60%) to legalize, and congress refused to even count the votes (they had to be sued for that to happen). Talking about things that really ought to be legal, most of the Marijuana initiatives are only about smoking it, and not about growing hemp.

Hey it’ll free up jobs when the losers stay at home all day.

You’ve got my vote.

You know what it is? Europeans across the continent are being told to “Integrate, integrate, integrate”. The European Parliament and really all the activity in Brussels is all incredibly focused on suberting European national level soverignty and putting in the hands of the broader EU government scheme.

So of course, people don’t have the power to rebel against Brussels or even against their national governments for seeding authority so what do they do? They turn to nationalism in their sport and in their games…

And that my friends, in the greatest tradition of this thread is 85% hyperbole with 15% of political fact.

In the complete recognition that I’m on the extreme minority in this forum on a whole host of sociopolitical issues, I’m going to not even touch California’s referendum tomorrow except to say I don’t like its odds of passage for this simple reason. Where are all the competitive primaries in California? Not on the democratic side, not on the side of voters who might be sympathetic but not driven by the issue… But I would expect Conservative Republican voters to turn out in California both inland and on the coast when you have two high profile candidates (Whitman for Gov and Fiorina for Senate) and arguably more conservative choices that appeal to different parts of the state. I think a highly regionalized but focused Republican electorate will turn out and I would expect, particularly from inland California, an extremely high number of social conservatives to come out tomorrow and vote no.

And finally… do we really expect pot heads to have been motivated enough to have gotten registered previously and then to vote??? That seems like alot to ask…

ADDENDUM: Since I’m going to spend all day tomorrow breaking down alot of these California votes on a district by district basis anyway, I will personally be curious to see how many voters vote yes on this based on the argument that it would raise revenues for the state’s coffers. How many conservative budget hawk types who otherwise might lean more socially conservative will vote yes on this to help California’s desperate budget situation… I don’t know… I will be curious to see what the votes show tomorrow though.

Really? Gotta look into it.

Can’t argue against that. They’ll probably be too high to move outside their homes. :smokin:

And if certain people in power get their way, don’t be surprised if you see a North American Union in the future!

Nostalgia time!

Anyone remember this show?

I use to love this show as a kid for some reason. Now I look at it and wonder what I was smoking.

And I’m finding out for the first time that Samuel L. Jackson was in the show too!

That guy is in everything.

Michigan legalized medicinal marijuana in 2008, if Cali legalizes pot Michigan probably will too.

No further comment necessary.

LOL!

And why does JJ have a Hitler mustache?

Which is odd since MJ was initially made illegal in the US due to lobbying interests in the timber industry (hemp had the potential to cut into paper and clothing material products).

Regardless though, I think it’s hilarious that people think it’s ok to get smashed and not stoned. Legalizing weed would solve local and federal financial problems through raising taxes, cut down on drug related crime, and keep the stoners out of jail (so they can fit people in there that actually deserve to do time).

Ok, its SFIV hate time!

I’ve been doing my best to learn Akuma, for whatever reason I always lose to the most random shit and the absolute worst players. My BP went down to 1400 from 2000. Suddenly I picked Guile, a character I have not played at all. I proceeded to wreck everyone, my BP is back up to 2000+, and I even came close to beating a Chun-Li with double my points. I probably would have lost all those matches if I was Akuma. Fucking random shit and crappy annoying game!!!

/rant.

EDIT: In other news, the guy who rage-quitted live in that match against El Fuerte has apparently viewed my profile. I feel special now???

Anyone want to make some bold predictions on this year’s world cup?

Do you play Guile in SF2? He actually plays pretty similar in 4, which is why I generally do the best with him. You have to jump around a lot more I find, and of course, his game when the opponent is waking up is a lot worse (like everyone’s is), but if you play Guile in SF2 that could be why.

EDIT -I think you mean PP not BP?

England to go out in quarter or semi finals.
Brazil/Argentina to win.

Honestly, nobody really knows what the longer-term implications of legalization are.
