Here’s hoping that the player who posted that information didn’t know much about fei, and subsequently didn’t look for the things that a normal fei player would.

Coming from the Ken camp over here… just wanted to say that I feel your pain… Gen must really be eating his heart out though… so much wasted potential from capcom…
Anyways, I`m no expert on Fei Long by a long shot… but I think his main problem in SF4 was that he never had a decent way to combo into ultra… (even though Seth said that he could after his EX-grapple-reset)

This is ridiculous, Fei will probably drop from main to the 6th man… probably be either switch to Ibuki or Guy, then M.bison and Makoto, hell might even jump back to Ryu. Capcom hates Chinese apparently…what a way to honor the image of Master Lee. If Fei is homage to Bruce he should be kicking everyone in this games ass.
Capcom despises Bruce Lee. His films promoted Chinese pride and depicted him beating the crap out of Japanese karate masters with ease. Now it’s payback.

I’ve decided to cancel my pre-order. I may get SSFIV later but, for now at least, I’m uninterested.

Maybe they are going to make up for Fei Longs short comings, including the counter ultra by making the counter do MASSIVE amounts of damage, I’m talking about 800+ base damage here…

Or maybe ultra 1 got buffs and we don’t care because no one was going to use the counter anyway and we’ll just pick counter to fuck with bad players.
I mean we don’t know what’s been changed with Fei but we do know he didn’t get nerfed. I doubt Wizard is a Fei player. We may be pleasantly surprised. Either way it’s not like Fei was that bad in 4. Only character that really raped him was Sagat and only for the sheer damage difference. The scores have been evened a bit so I guess fei will probably just be a “go even with everyone” kind of character. If you like him, play him. I’m sure he’ll still see play after the game comes out and everyone tries out the new characters for a bit and realizes they’re not the easy mode pain trains we all expected.
I really like a few of the new characters, and vanilla 4 didn’t offer many that appealed to me. So that’s the only reason I’m considering switching. I will definitely still play Fei even if I don’t main him though.

i dunno about you, but for me its more than just damage difference when its against Sagat. I played EmblemLord and went 0-10 or coulda been more. If youve played him or can play him and you gotta cam, record some of your matches. It might just be me but this is one of the matches i get murdered at. I dunno about the Tier list saying 6-4 cuz on my win record against Sagats it more like 8-2 but than again i suck.
I’m torn. I’ll still be playing Fei in Super. I did pretty well in a few tourneys with him and have invested wayy too much time to give up on him.
I think that a lot of his matchups have evened out. Ryu got nerfed pretty hard. No more trade-ultra? Great for Fei. 5-5 match-up now.
Sagat is still going to be 6-4 but right now it feels like 7-3 so it will be more managable.
Rufus lost damage output. Good for Fei.
I really don’t think the Alpha cast poses any real threat to Fei.
It’s T.Hawk, Zangief, and the 3rd Strikers that could ruin my WATAAA!
Oh, and Chun. This game is looking to be 3rd strike 2.0. Besides Ken sucking of course.
