Well they need to bring in some quality competitive play footage so we can see effective ways for these counter ultras to work.
From the vids out there already, it does like to be pretty much instantaneous… thank god. 
We’ll see though, who knows. I’m still not liking the fact that it’s a counter ultra, but hopefully it will at the very least, work against meaties, and hopefully safe jumps too.

anyone think that the addition of ex armor to fei’s tenshin would be a good idea?
Personally I think it would make tenshin a much more viable command grab, How many times have you tried to gimmick someone into a tenshin and gotten jabbed out of it, or any other variety of mashed normals(and yes i know that mashed normals won’t effect a properly canceled tenshin, but hey no one is perfect all the time, and in my case its more like never) or specials that had lead to a large portion of your life saying goodbye? Personally it has happened more times then I care to remember.
I do agree that the ex-armor would be more beneficial on lets say ex-rekkas but hey… who am I kidding… some Ex-armor is better then none.

I agree EX armor would be good on any of his moves. Let’s wait and see if Capcom helped him out lol.
But yes, I know the feeling when a tenshin falls through. I get jabbed out of forward throw to meaty ex tenshin sometimes, and it sucks cuz now its telegraphed and you don’t get another chance for a good while.
I honestly think armour on ex tenshin would make it overpowered… BUT i do think armour and wall bounce on ex rekka would be a marvelous idea.
I thought the same thing when I read that makoto had armor on ex-karakusa. It would definitely help out fei’s ex-tenshin. Or at least make the start up time as fast as hers for ex-tenshin.

Either the parry duration is small or even worse it only works on STANDING attacks.

Well it works if you ask the guy to full mash buttons after the ultra, the only plus from this is the startup is instant.
isn’t it a counter ultra? so, it’s not supposed to work if akuma is doing nothing.
whats the deal. akuma jabs him after7-10 frames of him standing there. ultra freeze walk up 1.5-2 steps then some jabs. how long was it expected to be active?

It’s an ultra, I would have expected it to be active for at least longer than goukens parry. From the vid its safe to say that it was active for less than 5 seconds before akuma can attack.
you do know 5 seconds is 300 frames, right? i would hope to not be committed to the move for that long
I remember Seth saying that this particular ultra does huge Damage. It seemed to do so but of course it was against Akuma.
It’d be interesting if you can choose to hold the parry animation for a bit longer like asuka’s reversal in tekken 6,
Since it’s been confirmed that Makoto can command throw > ultra, I wonder if they’ve allowed Feilong to do his Tenshin into Ultra 1. Since he really has no other good ultra setups, I’m really hoping capcom changed this. Can anyone confirm if you can ultra from tenshin?
The video raised one possibility that it is actually punisbable if it misses.
She’s also got a better dash, better base damage output, a better focus attack, instant startup on her command grab; should I go on?
Compared to what I just saw, SF4 Fei would be lucky to crack 3-7 against Makoto. He’s going to need a ton of buffs just to make it to 4-6.
A better focus attack? I don’t know about that, fei’s FA is pretty damn good, its hella fast and has a ton of range.
But everything else about makoto is better, you forgot the most important thing, she has RIDICULOUS ways to setup her ultra, dash punch>super>ultra? While fei has ZIP ways to land his ultra and we’re left with a horrific counter ultra.
