funny, the only characters in any fighting game to have fireballs and DP’s of any kind were the SF1 characters…now…

How about allowing Fei to FADC the first rekka, how nice would that be (assuming he can combo after it)? Abel can do it, why not Fei? The more I think about things like this, it seems like he’s an incomplete, or purposely shitty character. There’s no reason to not have this-

Abel can FADC the first hit of his CoD because it’s way more unsafe on block than the first hit of a Rekka.

FADCable rekka would be pretty strong. maybe thats why they cant. during playtesting they probably found it to be pretty powerful.

It wouldn’t be that strong. Off of a straight Rekka, it would be nice for extending the range on punish combos, but not hit-confirmable otherwise. Damage scaling would mean that s.HP xx Rekka FADC s.HP xx Flamekick would a be good, but not too crazy.

FADC-ing first Rekka hit would not be as powerful as FADC-ing FP Shoryu. Not in an eternity of a trillion eternities.

I was thinking they didn’t make Rekkas super/FA cancellable just because if you tried to do the whole chain with full meter the super would come out on the second one. Would need some kind of exception in the command buffering to work.

Here’s a list of all the confirmed buffs for Fei Long in SSF4 so far:

I don’t see how it could be too powerful. Ryu can FADC his fireball, so combos like low forwardxxfireball FADC low roundhouse work, and it doesn’t break the game. This gives him nice damage, a long range hit confirmable knock down combo (that’s untechable), and he can mix it up at close range and combo into the hurricane kic for more damage if he wants.
Now if Fei could FADC his rekkas I could see it adding a bit to his game, but not too much. If you connect a rekka from a distance and FADC, I could see the best thing you could combo would be low jab->rekka x 3 or sweep. I doubt you could follow up a FADC with a stand fierce combo unless you started the combo at point blank range given the close stand fierce’s poor range (I hope they fix this too). It hardly seems like a game breaking tactic. If anything, FADCing a rekka would be nice to close the gap quickly and set up a guessing game by getting in their face quickly. Damaging fancy combos wouldn’t be practical from any distance.

heres my theory on why i think itd be too good: ( I could be totally wrong on this since I’m not that good at frame stuff)
Fei’s dash is what? like 17 frames?

Rekka 1 (LP) is +0 on hit, with 21 frames of recovery, meaning that 21 is pretty much the hit stun value. FADC dashing off that isnt too bad.
however, take Rekka 2, since most people use MP or HP, I’ll use MP for this example.

Rekka 2 (MP) is -4 on hit, with 42 frames of recovery, meaning the hitstun like 38 ish. dashing after that is about +20 ish frames. to do WHATEVER with it already hit confirmed. EASY ultra. thats a hell of a lot of advantage.

only downside to this is damage scale and meter. sure other characters can FADC ultra, but they dont get this much advantage or the ability to do a whole combo.

I wouldn mind having this though. hahaha

shhhh… I think they may have made this buff, even though I have no idea whether or not they did flame rekka = wall bounce into pefect 3 hit ultra 1, chicken wing, or shienkyaku

Naw I honestly have no idea, but I get the feeling that this is prolly the one and only buff capcom is gonna give us. This and his forward dash without pause, and fix some inconsistencies.

If that’s the case I guess I’ll be getting to know Juri a lot better. So many new characters with tons of potential… why bother with some old out dated relic with worse tools than the new characters?
