Yes, DSP isn’t the greatest at modern fighters. But he was definitely a worthy player in ST, I don’t see how people can say otherwise. I watched one of his sets versus Damdai, he came really close to winning using Dee-Jay against Ryu (a REALLY bad matchup).
Having faced Damdai and other top players myself, even getting one win over them is a huge feat.
You said he was tournament level at many fighting games. He clearly is not. He may have been at ST but that was then.
And it’s not an act. He acts like that in real life as confirmed by other sources.
Because shitty ps1 port of ST counts a lot. Why have I never seen him place high at EVO again or win many ST tournament then? Oh thats right, he’s decent but he is nowhere near the upper echelon. End of story.
What I want to know is why people still care about these two.
DSP’s channel is really aimed towards children. That kind of lewd humor is clearly aimed at the 11-13 age group. Who else has time to watch hours of videos everyday? I’m pretty sure he won EvoEast a few years, so he clearly has some skill in ST. The rest of his internet videos are not really meant for people like us. Kids clearly like the raging.
My question is that if the PS1 version was so different, why did the favorites to win the ST tournament (Gian, Nuki, Tokido), players that are so used to play one specific version (the arcade version), end up getting top 3?

While he does talk a lot of shit, and just does most of it for attention… I tend to agree (somewhat) with his remarks on Max. Guy made about 23.7 billion videos on SFV within a week, all of it with little to no information, and was generally click bait

He’s a hypocrite for attacking Max. Yes, Max pumps out quite a few videos because that’s his livelihood. At the same time he does initiate honest discussion and very often plays with his fans. He’s also quite level-headed and not a douche. I say let the guy make money if he wants.
But how does that make LTG any different? All he’s doing is using the FGC to create drama so he can get his own Youtube views. Heck, there’s even a video on his page where he asks people how to get more views. And he literally says something like “I don’t want to make videos if not many people will see them”. What’s more, he’s gotten bitter because he’s made these new t-shirts that (surprise) not many people are buying. Personally I have zero incentive to support the guy. He rage-quits, sends hatemail, and has tried to provoke physical contact within the community. The guy was trying to start shit with Viscant, who literally looks like a quiet nerd from the 90’s. That’s after he defamed him publicly by calling him a loser with poor hygeine in one of his videos.
Also, don’t mistake my post for in any way condoning what this guy does. Believe me I dont like the guy. It’s just he happened to make a few points I agreed with
If you truly hate LTG, the best thing to do is just ignore him. He is just seeking attention via controversy, retaliating/responding to him is exactly what he wants.
Sure, I wasn’t trying to single you out or anything. The only point LTG made about Max that was valid was that he’s releasing many videos to gain views. It could be seen as selling out but people can unsubscribe if they want. I’d support LTG if he at least would stop rage-quitting and sending hatemail. If his videos involved him just raging to himself then that’d be funny.

Like I’ve said before, you can disagree with Max’s “business model” of churning out videos about the same topic, but it’s not really all that different than what happens in lots of public forums and social media. Just take a look at how this site almost blew up after the second SF V trailer came out @ Capcom Cup with the parries/Charlie/graphics discussion. Whether you agree with him or not, Max’s opinions and points of view certainly carry some weight for the casual gamer (at least).
LTG trying to start shit with Max definitely comes out of left field. Harassing him on Twitter AND YT? Guy is definitely jealous of Max’s success because he can’t even gather HALF the attention he does (he makes a huge fuss when one of his videos surpasses 10K views, imagine that). Max has viewers by the THOUSANDS during his streams while LTG can only get a couple of hundred at best (of which half are just there to troll him). LTG complains about Max’s pointless videos when he uploads shit of him talking about sneakers WTF. You can obviously see that LTG is desperarte for attention now that the Viscant feud has died down (despite him trying to rekindle it with physical violence threats), so he wants to cling on to Internet celebrities cuz he craves that attention.
BTW those dumbass shirts are ugly as fuck. Looks like something a high school student would pull out for a school fair.
I got no beef with Max. He may not always be the most knowledgeable guy in the FGC but he’s decent at the games (not top level or anything) and is probably the most consistent producer of fighting game content.
Only thing I’ll say is that some of the people who follow his stream are literally insane, throwing upwards of a thousand dollars at him. Like seriously, what.
