The Low Level Tennessee Thread Full of Casuals :)

Just let go of the stick and you’ll block neutrally. There, the game just held your hand lol.

We should try out some pair play next fight night.

Bah, my car has failed me for the last time. Going on the hunt tomorrow for a better one. Will do my best to make it to the gathering, I spent some of today learning Lars. He’s crazyyyy.:nunchuck:

Jesus Christ Marduk is a thick bitch. Dude is harder than the kings IMO but so worth it. Think I finally found two people who I really really wanna play.

Readed it, and tripped like Heck at the end. It’s going to happen eventually. 8)

I was wondering if you tekken heads could explain to me the difference between baek and hwoarang and what makes them different from other tekken characters. I’m fairly new as this is my first 3d fighter.

Noooooooooooooooooo

The Beak is the “simpler” of the two characters and is more strait forward. That being said he isnt as simple as say Paul to play either

-He only has one Flamingo (FLA) stance to learn where as Hwo has different versions depending on if his right or left foot is forward
-There are specific FLA only moves but Baek can also cancel his FLA with just about any of his regular move list save for regular grabs
-This lets you set up some easy mix ups from FLA transitions on both hit or block depending on if you go low, mid, or use the FLA special grab
-Baeks gameplay will revolve mostly around poking with his good safe mids and setting up FLA transitions to let you run your mix up
-You also have a generic D/F+2 launcher a true magic 4 & one of the easiest long range whiff punisher launchers in the game with D/B+2
-Going directly into FLA causes an auto side step to the right so Baek can do things like double and triple sidestep right where Hwo cannot
-Execution for Baek outside of halberd cancels, which I dont think you need anymore really anyway cause of the tag assault system, is pretty simple
-Hwo, because of his multiple stances, has many more mix up opportunities and ways to confuse the opponent. I dont know if his more options equates to better options than Baek but it might

With you saying this is your first 3d fighter I would suggest if you want to learn one of the two go with Baek. He is easier to pick up because of his shorter move list and simplified approach, he has built in movement options which will help a newer player who isnt as good at manual movement yet, takes advantage of most of the games basic systems well, is a beast at the wall and seems to work ok with several partners. The only negatives to him IMO are his movement options got nerfed in TTT2 which sucks and his damage output is below average outside of some specific big launcher set ups.

Caveat 1: I haven’t put in the work on him in this game so far that I did in T6 so there may be teams that make up for his lower dmg output
Caveat 2: Tiers dont really matter at this point but at one time he was considered top 10 in T6 however; I dont see him being top ten here. He is still really good no doubt but the nerfs he got hurt and his buffs didn’t really make up for it. That being said since you didn’t use him in T6 you dont have to worry about the transition. I only mention this cause you will prolly see a lot of people whining about his nerfs just ignore that garbage

Uh Oh, dimo gonna end up with a Bob/Lars team

Good stuff to the Tekken people at fight night - I can tell I am so rusty … no worries tho, at least I finish combos unlike a certain Asian we all know - project at work is over, so I can finally have extra free time to jump back into FGs and work on my 2nd char.

Also, I plan on attending King of the Bling - probably won’t do well at all since I’ve been out for a bit, but whatever - I want to come hang.

You’re just mad b/c you can’t stop holding forward and pressing buttons; which resulted in getting smacked in the chest by a Power Rangers Ninja Star hahahahah

Nutsaks, I know exactly what you’re talking about. Besides neutral guarding or BDC stuff, anytime you backdash make it a habit of pressing back, back (HOLD back). This is the safer backdash that allows you to recover blocking and not just backdash only to get smacked by something with range.

Happens to people. They forget, or never knew, that when backdashing if they anticipate an attack, simply tapping back won’t work. You have to get your backdash out and on the last input of it, HOLD back.

Good games in tek Wednesday. It was epic seeing all game screens with tek on them. And apperently I’ve chosen the most annoying character in the game. Oh well not my problem haha. And Johnny finish your combos and stop getting hit by ninja stars lol

What’s the ride situation gonna be like for king of bling?

So um, I posted in the KOF Tourney Players group about King of Bling… Romance has now RSVP’d the event so KOF will not be free. I can’t make it sadly(Mid term the same week and another one like 3 days after Bling. I also has no money at all especially since a girl is in my opticals now ;_; ). However, Raekwon will be there and ready so you will know why Raiden is fucking insane(I DARE YOU TO TRY AND ALTERNATE GUARD HIM). Some North Carolina folks might come down as well but I can’t promise anything on their end. Anyways, I gotta get back to this thing called life and get pounded in my bootyhole by it no homo. Peace.

Let me know if you have any questions about the Duke. I’m not super good but I do all right with him.

Glad I’m not entering KOF!

Good shit, glad someone is posting around. Is Raekwon actually going to play? Last tournament he played a few casuals then decided not to. As far as Romance goes, I’d be a little surprised to see him, but it makes sense… Small-ish event with a decent payout, and he’s got a sponsor who can get him there. Super nice guy, but a bitch to fight against. Beni is mad cheap.

I sure do man. Trying to figure out what pokes to use with him. What to VTS cancel from and what his launcher combos are.

b+4 is nice and safe. Great reach.
b+3 is also nice but slow
df+3,df+1 is his twin pistons launcher. Pretty safe but also has a 2 followup.
d+4 is amazing. It is an UNPARRYABLE low. Abuse this to get them ducking but watch the startup and spacing.
d+3 is also good. It’s a low that keeps you standing. This can be parried though. Good damage.
2,1 hits high but has some frame advantage on block.
b+2 tracks. Slow.
df+1 is his general launcher. Guaranteed after CH 1+2 shove.
You can VTSc after 1,2 or variations that end in 1,2. This is the most common cancel.
Edit: a VTSCancel is done by quickly entering 3+4, 3+4. You go in and out of VTS very quickly.

You will use df+1, or df+3, df+1 as common launchers. After launch:

1,2, VTSC, 1,2 VTS, f+1,2 B! TA. ff1+2, or df+2,1 or f+2,1
2, d1+2, df+4, 2B! TA see enders. You can also go straight to df3,2 after launch.

Xbl TTT2 lobby tonight at 9pm ct! Doing at 9 so my fam won’t be hogging the bandwidth

yooooo guys. I plan on coming in next weekend on Friday night. Anyone wanna let me crash at their place Friday and Saturday night? That is if I don’t end up getting a hotel. Also, I wanna play some AE!!! Nobody in Arkansas plays anymore so I’m hella rusty.
