Yes there is mandatory times for breaks including times to stretch, and the stretches are to avoid injury.
There is also a Nurse on duty, the Nurse is instructed to keep you in production (rather than make decisions on your actual health) as long as possible, so it not unheard of for employees to get IVs at their workstation when they are dehydrated.

Hey I started watching The Passage last week and I gotta say the people running the facility all went full retards.
Summary
The researchers and staff donât find it odd that people are having psychic nightmares with beings that are revealing their appearance to the black guy before heâs ever even met the guy, but the scientists donât see this as a huge red flag.
Once they finally realize whatâ going on it takes them another 4 episodes before they even decide to be proactive and kill the vamps, who are psychically bonded to each other. A black female doctor also takes 6 episodes to grow enough of a conscience to see how kidnapping a black girl for scientific experimentation is wrong.
The lead doctor doesnât mind being taunted by his former best friend who was also banging his wife on the side, and he also forgave both of them cuz heâs a cuck.
The black girl in the latest ep did the dumbest thing ever and revealed her power set to the DoD dude whoâs practically salivating when she uses her abilities. So basically a 10 year oldâs lack of self-preservation might end up creating a bunch of child super soldiers, after they dissect her or whatever.

Yeah I think vampirism sucks (no pun intended) when you automatically turn into grotesque and violent psychopath that canât stay outdoors.
