Even more reason not to vote for them.

Seriously, dems have a million candidates and most of them are wack.

I’m just finding out about that NYC Amazon hq deal that fell through. This young popular female politician apparently led protests against Amazon. Believing that the 3bill they were getting in incentives from the city was in cash and thought it wasn’t right.

Amazon goes on to then pull out of the deal with plans to now build in Virginia. The city has now lost out on what was projected to be 27bill in tax revenue over 10 years with 20,000 new jobs. All because this moron actually thought the city was gonna hand over 3bill flat out to Amazon. When it was actually 3bill in tax breaks over the course of that 10 years.

How did someone this ignorant of economics get put into a position of influence like this???

Right now on liberal Twitter, if you support Bernie you’re a misogynist, if you don’t support Bernie you’re age-ist, unless you criticize Bernie on some specific policy, and then you’re an antisemite.

If Trump wins again these people are why, doesn’t even take a conspiracy.

Meanwhile on REALLY liberal Twitter, apparently at the moment the CIA has orchestrated a coup in Venezuela in order to secure the oil for corporate oligarchs.

Fuck Amazon. Them coming in means the city loses out on billions in tax revenue, real estate prices go thru the roof and people who already live there potentially get priced out of the market. Amazon is basically the new Wal Mart.

The jackassery on twitter about Bernie is nuts.

Oh hey, I plowed through some of that too. Just to clear up some finer details, AOC was against it, but the deal falling through was more about local pushback on the ground than anything she did. She doesn’t really deserve the credit or the blame, depending on which side is talking about it.

And I read that some 500mil of the 3bn was cash up front. So fwiw, more than nothing.

I mean cnn switching to conservative slant for reasons

Ah thanks for sharing. But this is still a big Loss. @TheDoctaMario Yeah I hear ya but the good outweighs the bad imo. If you are a skilled worker ,those jobs would’ve been great. And the tax revenue generated from those new jobs would’ve been massive for the city.

You want a list of all the governments the CIA has toppled?

They’ve been sanctioning Venezuela for the better part of a decade now. At some point the unrest has to hit.

Besides there are plenty of reporters that have checked some of the claims made about that government and found them to be false. For example, the idea that there’s no free press criticizing the government.

Who knows whats actually going on there.

Oh yeah, I know I can’t even say shit because of the CIA’s actual track record.

Nah.

Amazon treats their employees even worse than Wal-Mart does.

And Sam Walton based his employee treatment upon the North Korean military.

Un.

Literally.

I don’t know. I live in Nashville and all the companies the city has brought in have helped turn the housing market on its head and made it harder to live here. The city is upside down budget-wise and they’ve been doing everything they can to get developers to coming build stuff, corporations to come in (Amazon is actually going to be coming with some 5000 job office downtown, as if things weren’t overpriced enough) hoping this will help their bottom line, but I think a it’s really done is make the cost of living much higher and traffic super congested.

Tbh I think we hit a sweet spot about 5-6 years ago. Things were more developed than they had been but they weren’t as overblown as they are now. But it seems like Nashville is turning into another Seattle and it’s gotten to a point where a lot of the things I liked about it, like the fact that it wasn’t as big as Atlanta where I moved from, that it was a bit cheaper and easier to live, when I moved here are gone.

I’ve blocked a bunch of words and phrases on twitter so I don’t have to read stupid sjw screeds about nothing day in and day out and while a few get thru, it’s made my experience there a lot better. Twitter really makes it obvious that life is better than it’s ever been in America because we don’t have a whole lot of really important things to complain about and most of the stuff people DO complain about is stuff that doesn’t matter.

That said, while I think Venezuela’s government is cancerous, I wouldn’t at all be surprised if they were trying to steal their oil reserves. The CIA has done so much evil shit in South America alone that it would be in like with how they’ve acted for decades.

Maybe trump did or didn’t collude

But good god he has obstructed every investigation into him. And that is where he falls.

Trump should go to trial based on all this. I mean other governments pushed out their leaders.

Why is there no fervor to protest and march in washington.

Like no wonder the hippies laugh at the sjw’s

A women’s march is fine. But collectively you are telling me there is no twitter trending hashtag of #marchonwashington #25thammendment

Activists nowadays are fucking lazy

Now the lower level unskilled workers packing boxes at wearhouses and what not. Yeah I have heard the stories. And it’s not cool. However this was a HQ they planned on building. This would’ve been thousands upon thousands of college degree type jobs. Which means New York college grads a few years from now would’ve had jobs ready for them. Hell college grads accross the tri state area would have jobs.

In a world where so many college grads are struggling to find work. This was needed for the city imo.

@TheDoctaMario I actually stayed in Nashville for half a year. From late 2017 to early 2018 doing a contract. And yeah locals said the same about how the city has changed. Unfortunately that just comes with the territory once a city starts booming like that. Can’t really maintain that small town charm when your city starts to become a place everyone wants to be.

Rent prices go up because skilled and white collar workers coming from out of town ( I was one of those scumbags lol ) to take those new higher paying jobs. Thus we are able to afford those rent prices no problem. While the average local, not so much. Likely because before the city started booming. Cost of living was cheap enough to where you didn’t need to be a skilled or college educated worker to maintain. But now all of a sudden city is getting popular and attracting big business and a skilled and college educated work force that is pushing locals out.

What you describe is pure greed, on the part of land owners.

It will be the death of this country.

As it stands nothing will be lost.

That, coupled with his dismissive, condescending attitude towards the fans who make people like him and Martin the financial successes they are.

I don’t really have a dog in this race beyond principles - I have never been a fan of either of them, neutral at worst.

But he reeks of the literal definition of entitlement.

I mean that’s just supply and demand my dude. City is booming and population is growing. Housing and land become more limited. So prices go up.

The rent was too damned high a long time ago.

And NO - it is not a simple matter of supply and demand.

There are blocks upon blocks of empty units in New York.

It is a matter of foreign and local wealthy assholes buying up, controlling, and manipulating the housing market.

It is by no means fair, just, or a matter of supply and demand.
