The USA was founded on Christianity therefor many of our laws are rooted in that philosophy, in particular The Ten Commandments. So if someone rejects those commandments they will have embraced Satan, from the point of view of a Christian. Satan’s influence is from genetics, not a little red horned goat man on your shoulder. You’re right though, Stuart, it’s very dumb, Christianity has been misinterpreted and parts of it sensationalized to the point that it’s spawned it’s own mythology.
I’m one of the few that want a proper religion thread on SRK. There are interesting conversations to be had but such a thread needs to be heavily moderated and someone to take it in new directions. I would definitely volunteer my time to just moderating that one thread without bias, we can’t just go around telling people they are going to hell or calling people stupid for their beliefs.
Call it the “Higher Power” thread.

The USA [United States of America] was NOT founded on Christianity. The United States of America was founded as a Secular Nation. The Founders gave America the “Freedom of Religion”. As much as I would like America to be completely Christian - since I am a Christian myself - you can’t force anyone to believe in a religion that they do no wish to adhere to.
As much as I dislike Satanists, or Nazis, you have to let them exist, When you restrict one person’s freedom [in this case, concerning religion], you restrict your own.
If you want to live in Freedom, you have to let others be free - even if you don’t like or agree with them.
Again, America was not founded on Christianity. The people from England, who fled to America, so that they could practice Christianity — they came to America to practice Christianity with no persecution. The roots of “America” are Christian but the founding of “The United States of America” is not.

One the problems with your theory is that most old school cats just don’t have shit to Prove to randoms online. I’ll play for fun online, but I’m not going to take it seriously. There are more randoms than there is time in your life: you gotta prioritize.
Randomly saw streamer Max at Disneyland yesterday. I’ll never understand the buzzsaw of hate people apply to people that actually do shit for the community. Seems like haters should do better / contribute better themselves, but then again it wouldn’t be the internet without communities being self-destructive. Woot.

I find it harder to take SF games seriously after getting into other games. Like, after SF4AE, I haven’t bothered playing SF much outside of randomly entering a 3s tournament or playing once in awhile on Fightcade. They’re great as the game they teaches you how to play fighters (some of them are anyway) but after you move on, I at least, don’t feel much of a reason to play SF anymore.
While I don’t consider Street Fighter games to be the best made, I think there are a few titles in the Street Fighter library that are very fun to play. Championship Edition, New Challengers, Alpha 2, Alpha 3, Second Impact, Third Strike, and Capcom vs SNK 2 (because they screw over the SNK side) are all a really good time. I had a bit of fun with Omega mode Super Street Fighter IV as well despite serious shortcomings, but cannot say that I enjoyed the transition to 3D. I also tried Street Fighter V recently, but it was very difficult to enjoy as many of my favorite characters changed for the worse and the range/flow of the fighting was off.
