Why did Desmond’s lady look real familiar? The actress, not her character.
I suppose she used lots of money bags to find out what happened to Desmond after he vanished, and the Anarctic station that detected the electromagnetic wave would explain the polar bear from season one, if in a very roundabout fashion. If the island(above ground? not?)can be traced to where the disturbance was detected, next season might well be the last.
I was kinda surprised to see that “Henry” was the Others’ leader after all(at least in that group), but the way he manipulated everyone while still a prisoner was a bit of a tip off. Mikey and Walt got off real easy, although I’d be willing to bet Mike gets his somehow or other…I wonder about Sayid and Jin/Sun. When Jack and the rest don’t show, Sayid will probably take things in his own hands. The Others will probably be after Sun’s baby since they haven’t been able to snatch Claire’s…speaking of which, why Charlie let himself be suckered back into that situation is beyond me. I guess the writers didn’t want to the season ender to be a total cliffhanger/downer. :bluu:
Seriously, WTF at who survives and doesn’t. That whole Eko, Locke and Des situation leaves room for all of them surviving (especially with that ending) but it is still fucked up my mind.

Desmond crashed before Flight 815 did. Maybe Elizabeth(the woman Desmond met at the cafe) found out he was missing, and went crazy with grief. She went insane and became ‘Libby’.

That crossed my mind too, but I was a little confused on the whole time frame. Was Hurley still supposed to be in the psych ward not long before the flight, or was he supposed to be out of it for a while before the show began?
The “Elizabeth” that gave Des her boat did so years before the plane crash, so if “Libby” was in Hurley’s mental ward about the same time it makes sense, especially right after her husband kicking the can. There’s almost too much to remember in reference to the show now, one of the reasons I’ve stayed away from the Dharma “websites” and tv specials. There’s also a novel in stores I’ve seen, though I don’t know if it’s actually related to the show.

Also turns out Penelope is the daughter of Charles Widmore. The pregnancy test Sun took had a Widmore Labs logo on it. The balloon the real black henry gale was in had Widmore on it. And you can see a Widmore construction sign in one of Charlie’s flashbacks. Widmore also sponsored the race that Desmond entered.
Widmore may have some association with the Hanso/Dharma stuff. It seems possible that Charles orchestrated Desmond being stranded on the island to keep him away from Penelope. Seems as though Penelope knows about the island and the electromagnetic phenomenon and that her father trapped Desmond there, so she tries to find the island with the help of those two guys who monitor electromagnetic disturbances.
