The LOST thread

Yes, this episode was the single greatest episode of lost so far. Des, Locke and Sawyer have always been the greatest characters, with Kate being most overrated. Hurley most underrated. In any case, his map did look like the map of the blast door way back in season 1. There is prolly 9 hatches 7 discovered so far, and if you keep up with your extra-curricular lost you know the losties will find at least 1 more hatch this season called the orchid.

anyone have a link of Daniel’s journal and maybe compare it to the map of the island’s stations?

Here’s how I think the whole ‘time travel’ thing works-
First and foremost what CAUSES one’s consciousness’ to be at a different time? From what we’ve been shown in Ep. 5, a radiation is necessary for it to happen to someone. In Des’ case it’s when the Hatch exploded; the radiation granted his consciousness the ability to forsee a possible future (Charlie’s deaths). Now this didn’t affect him greatly, but wait till he got OUTSIDE the island; all of a sudden his consciousness got fucked up; it didn’t know if he should be on the chopper or in UK. As such this anomaly, if you could call that, could only be rectified by a Constant; one that can prove that he WAS in UK AND is on a boat/chopper.
That one Constant turned out to be non other than Penny; he met her when he was in UK and he managed to contact her years later.

Great episode but im pretty sure nothings gonna be able to beat my per favs which all happen to be from S1. Sayid explainin the radio transmission and charlie sais “where are we?”, Hurley saying that guy Nathan(?) wasnt on the plane, when Lock drops his light and finds the station, and the finale where they open the door.

But regarding this episode, time travellin is a very picky subject to go through.
IF the events happening were really of Des’s and the mouse’s consciousness going to the past/future it creates quite the paradox. If per say in the present(or past) the consciousness is sent to the future that means in the future every single thing that has happened between that time being sent to the future must have happened. However since his consciousness is not there its impossible to for that person to live through his/her life without having the consciousness returned from the future. I hope people understand what Im trying to say.

The only way this could happen is when in the past the consciousness is being sent to another dimension where it is totally another timeline in the future and that past consciousness is injected into the alter-dimension being. So the alter-dimension being went through time normally up to that point all the while the past-dimension is creating its own timeline. But since the alter-dimension is mingling with it’s own past it has to merge or intertwine or some shit with the past-dimension to complete itself since the show is trying to show that its taking place in one dimension… or it could be vice-versa.

Im almost confusing myself while writing this so… point out any anomalies. I know im dwelling too much into this.

EDIT: Just saw next ep preview and it looks real shitty. Seems like we wont be getting many answers or char development, i hope im wrong

No alternate timelines. Too confusing for your average viewer. Its a paradox usually refered to as a ‘self containing loop’.

The last ep really confused me…

Just started this, on ep 12 now. Shit is addictive.

Anyone read that prediction/spoiler about the island essentially traveling back in time?

Wait, like ep 12 of the very first season? Oooh snap you’re in for a wild ride.

There are slow parts in the series, but if you’re apparently watching them all downloaded then that won’t be an issue for you. Waiting a week just to be let down by an episode can be rough. But if you’re binging on like 5+ eps a day, you should thoroughly enjoy it.

I almost always watch TV shows like that these days. So much more enjoyable to knock out an entire season in a few days of watching.

I started this pretty recently too… about 1.5 weeks ago. The show is good, but it’s different from your typical Prison Break/Heroes/Dexter. The show lost popularity after S2 ending, but watching all the eps in a row is what kept me addicted to it.

199% agreed. I hate waiting a week for an episode that is nothing more than disappointing, I think I’ll wait for S4 to be over… then watch it all in a bunch.

that’s so true. i almost quit this show because season 3’s first arc was so bad. I would hype myself up that a new episode would come out and wait an entire week for such a letdown, it was hard to recover week after week.

I remember they said it’ll end in a bang but it was more like a whimper. And then we had to wait like 3 months for a new episode.

But even through that rough patch, they came back with a fury and season 3 ended on a good note…and then season 4, i’m so glad i stuck with it. best show on television right now. took battlestar galactica out of the top spot for me.

I just started watching this season. When the show first started I didn’t watch it cause I knew it was going to be one of those shows that just jerked you around. But once I found out that they fleshed the show out and it was ending at season 6 I was hyped. I watched the Lost in 8 minutes thing off youtube and you know what? I’m so glad i didnt watch the first 3 seasons. I feel like I just dropped in at the best part. The show is the best. The writers over their asses so well and write so much into the show. Tonight show looks pretty intense. catch ya later.

I just watched the 1-3 in 8 minutes too. Funny stuff.

Yea the show is at its best right now, but the entire show has been dynamite, I would rather watch everything then lost in 8 minutes.

Season 3 was bad, I don’t care what anyone says. But this season is stellar so far.

Season 3 was definately bad. Watching those 8 minutes got me tempted to watch the whole series again though. Maybe I’ll watch all of 1 and 2, and then a few from the beginning and end of 3.

see you guys at dinner

I hate locke. Some people really like locke, but he is too flawed to be likable. And I’m guessing that he will die because of his arrogance.

Haha, those quick recaps eh?

Juliette has TITS OF JERUSALEM.

See you bitches at dinner, I’ll bring dat 360.

Black bargaining chip. Once again, Kate has yet to fail when it comes to being complete shit.

So the preview pretty much spoils the last of the Oceanic Six and Ben’s man on the boat. Still probably gonna good.
