The LOST thread

I think Locke can’t see Jacob because he didn’t actually kill his father, Sawyer did.

LostPedia Trivia

[details=Spoiler] * A man is shown in the hut when the objects start to move for a split moment in the chair where Jacob was supposed to be.
* When the camera shows one of the skeletons in the mass grave, it can be seen that it has a bullet hole in the head.
* The gas grenade prop Ben uses in the van is a repainted ALSG272 CS smoke grenade. The same grenade was used (without the can being repainted) in Left Behind.
* When Ben is in the van with Roger and he looks at his watch, it displays the time 4:00:15-4:00:16.
* Ben is born just 32 miles outside of Portland.
o 4 x 8 = 32
o 32 miles from Portland, Oregon is a town called Gales Creek. ([1])
* Annie gives young Ben an Apollo Bar soon after Ben’s arrival on the Island.
* Both Ben and Locke have mothers named Emily.
* This is only the second episode this season where all credited cast members appear.
* Young Ben uses the code 54439 to disable the sonar fence.
o Marvin Candle is heard on the tape to say that a new code for the fence is given each day.
* Ben kills his father on his own birthday, therefore both of his parents died on his birthday.
* The episode starts on the 91st day of being on the Island, December 22nd, which is Ben’s birthday.
* It would have been winter at that time in Gales Creek, Oregon, but the forest where Ben is born is lush and green.
o Winter is the rainy season in the Pacific NW. Lush and green is typical.
o In the shot, there are Ipomoea flowers behind Emily’s head and the forest floor is covered in pine needles. Ipomoea flowers from July to October in the northern temperate regions and, regardless of the pine needles, the trees appear to Hawaiian. A look at the ‘behind the scenes’ photos [2]indicates that this was probably not shot on location. The “Portland 32” sign has piles of dirt with recently planted plants around it’s poles.
o In addition, from the same ‘behind the scenes’ webpage, you can see in the background mountains usually seen in panoramic shots of the LOST island, [3]which is shot in Hawaii.
* There is a good chance that the year of Ben’s birth was 1963, since the cars used for the opening scene were specifically supposed to be “1963 and older”. [4]
* Both Locke & Ben have killed their fathers to join the Others/Hostiles. They are also both looked on with some authority by them.
* The gas canister has the label “431CTP”
* Ben’s cover-alls did not have any DHARMA logo.
* LOST is a name given to Mustard Gas (sulfur mustard), consisting of an abbreviation of the names Lommel and Steinkopf, two Germans who mass produced the gas during World War I.
* Ben is wearing a Timex Indiglo watch. Timex received the patent for the Indiglo nightlight in 1988, but according to the Timex website, “The company introduced the industry’s first electroluminescent watch face in 1992”. This means that the purge would have had to have occurred during, or after, 1992.
o Casting for this episode states that the final flashback scene is set in 1992. However, casting alone cannot be seen as official or “canon”, as their information and brief is often very limited. However, one must take into account that the Others kidnap Alex in 1988, and not only was she not shown but Rousseau apparently doesn’t recall every meeting DHARMA. Furthermore, in the Lost Experience, Hugh McIntyre stated that the DHARMA Initiative funding was cut in 1987. Thus, the watch clue might be a production error.
* The dog painting in Jacob’s house is actually in real-life of Lulu, a dog owned by executive producer Jack Bender.
* Ben’s father was the corpse Hugo found in the DHARMA van in “Tricia Tanaka Is Dead”. [/details]

.

Yeah, there’s definately gotta be something goin on with Richard.

About Locke not being able to see Jacob because he didn’t kill his dad, is a pretty good theory. And an easier theory to come to than this one…

This theory is also good, and a bit more intriguing since it’s the not-as-obvious one. What if Ben really was putting on a show? Then when Locke hears Jacob speak, Ben is shocked because he was just acting the whole time, yet Locke actually heard something.

http://www.4815162342.com/ is a good place for theories and discussion etc. Every theory on the net is probably covered there. It’s such a time waster though heh. I find myself reading theories and discussions forever, and then thinking “eh, I might as well just wait and see for myself. All this theorizing could be horribly wrong.” =p

Nine-thousand? There’s no way that could be right!

^^ Is he talking about that simpson’s/ twilight zone episode where there’s another dimension behind the bed/ boook shelf?

Narnia anyone?

Great fucken ep.

She was fucken hot

The blonde? If so then co-sign.

Lol yeah her, err, she looks ok after looking at it again.

At second glance, she doesn’t look as good as I originally thought, but still not half bad. Bit older looking than I remember.

Everyone got a speaking role last night (cept Mr. Friendly) - death’s a comin’.

“You’re my hero!” - Damon Lindelof pats himself on the bac… I mean…
“You’re my hero… now if you’ll excuse me, John Locke has to sell me a house.” teleports

So Charlie ends up in The Abysmal Ball/Resident Evil freight elevator/Deep Blue Sea? :annoy: KILL HIM ALREADY.

I want Rose to singlehandedly destroy the Others. THAT would be interesting.

So, did Charlie not flick the switch he was suppose to?

Guess who shows up?

Spoiler

Walt & Penny

Yeah, it’s fucked up.

Don’t read the following unless you want to ruin it or too curious.

Lead in to next season

Spoiler

Kate and Jack are trying to get back ON the island

Yeah, that spoiler alone makes me hard for Lost again.

About last nights ep, I had Deep Blue Sea in my head, I thought the Shark would just leap out of the water and feast on Charlie or Sam Jackson would start preaching and get peaced out.

I can understand Charlie being happy to be alive, but did he really have to shout? ugg…:wasted:

Yeah, seriously. Also, how is it that the room of the Looking Glass wasn’t flooded?

I wanted her to shoot charlie and be done with it.

The other girl in the Looking Glass looked like… umm, what’s her face. Sawyer’s ex hoe.

Oh man, if the Dharma shark from that one episode had jumped up and grabbed Charlie I would have been the happiest boy on the face of the earth that night.

Lost special that was on tonight wasn’t all that hot, and stated the obvious/everything that we already knew.

Why would it be? The only reason anyone thought it was is because ben said it was. and he’s a lair that’s trying to keep them on the island.

If desmond is right, it will be.
