You can most likely guess it has something to do with the candidates, but I don’t believe it was answered.
The kids stuff was probably something that got dropped. I believe one of the initial plot points was that some of the survivors would be granted powers, possibly via the temple (an interview with the Walt actor said his character had powers…so I’m just trying to connect dots here) - but changes can and do happen in 6 years (a lot of plot points that spanned the first two seasons turn out to be mere red herrings for example; and I really doubt they had thought of a time travelling island way back in season 1).
Although, it might have been a Benjamin Linus thing as we know from a few his backstory, he does everything he can to protect children. So that theory, whilst not complete, could work.
I wouldn’t count on it being answered though.
p.s; I liked the latest episode more than last weeks. Ben is most likely up to something (He never liked widmore anyhow) and if Richard is dead, that’s some bull crap right there.
I like how cool Richard was about how smokey wont kill him since he wants him to join him…and right when he steps out…POW! right in the kisser lol
It’s greatly stupid yet somehow amusing on how he got random’d out like that. I mean, really? That’s how you’re gonna kill off one of the most mysterious characters like that? If he’s actually dead…man, im pretty much giving up hope on a good ending for this show. (not that i had high hopes anyway)
When the Man in Black told Ben “I’m going to destroy the island”, Ben didn’t say “Okay!”. It just cut to the Lost logo. We don’t know if Ben agreed to the change of plans or not.
LOL what are you talking about, obviously Keits was making a joke lol
And I think that will be precisely Ben’s reaction, he won’t stand up to locke but I’m hoping Ben uses his skills to manipulate Locke into making a mistake.
If there’s one thing a true sociopath HATES it’s being used. Ben will likely inflict as much pain on the smoke monster as possible while trying to get as much from it as possible.
Hell, we still don’t have any idea what they’re planning on doing with the Flash Sideways stuff.
The POINT isnt what Ben did or did not reply. The POINT is that Smokey went back on what he offered Ben no more than 5 minutes later in the same episode. Its BAD WRITING. There are countless examples of it this season, and its getting painful to watch.
Doctor - your speculations on character assume the writers are good and/or consistent. They are neither.
they gave a half-assed answer in season three. they took kids so that they could have a better life than they would if they stayed with their original family. I believe it was carl that said it
haha it would have been funny if jin and sayid both auditioned for sawyer as well. What the hell is sun auditioning for kate when theres a korean role in the show?
