Yes the first few seasons are fantastic, I have a roommate who just watched them this past few months and he enjoyed it. I didn’t even start watching it until well into season 3
It was strongly hinted that MIB and Jacob’s mother has some kind of power. How else would she be able to kill off an entire village and bury those wells on her own? Whether or not the writers were hinting at her being a smoke monster, I don’t know. It was too vague. I guess the strongest evidence she is NOT a smoke monster is that she has a physical body.
The blade isn’t important. Ben killed Jacob with a regular knife and not the old one that Dogen gave to Sayid. And plus Jacob spoke before Ben killed him so speaking doesn’t even stop someone from killing Jacob. MIB in smoke form cannot be killed by knives/bullets or such things which leads me to believe that the foster mom was never a smoke monster.
Ok. just want to make sure I have this straight.
Jacob’s mom = protector of island before jacob, doesn’t age, but can be killed. Took the two children, realizing MIB was special, but taking jacob as well due to unexpected birth. They grow up, mom passes on power to jacob, saying they are ‘‘the same’’ (doesn’t age but can be killed). Blackie kills mom after she burns down his people, village, the blade being of no significance. Mom thanks him, i assume because she’s been alive for over 9000 years. Blacki and jacob can’t kill themselves because their mother ‘made it so’ (stupid explanation), so jacob loopholes by chucking him into the light, not killing him technically. In doing this, Blackie doesn’t die, just loses his mortal body, but thoughts, personality, and ‘soul’ become smoke monster, a fate worse than death that binds him to the island forever, cannot be killed or age, while jacob is protecter, can still be killed just not by smokey, and searches for new candidate.
Thing I don’t understand… Why has smokey in the past been seen as guardian of the temple, and judges people like ecko and ben, determining wheter or not to kill them
This isn’t true. Original M.I.B. did exactly what Dogen told Sayid to do to Flocke: take the knife and stab him without letting him speak to you. They obviously had reason to believe that the knife had the potential to kill the smoke monster.
Foster Mom spoke to original MIB countless times before MIB killed her. She spoke to him when he was a child and also before she knocked him out. I don’t think the timing of when she spoke to him should matter. This coupled with the fact that Foster Mom left behind a skeleton is why I’m convinced she was never a smoke monster to begin with.
I never said she was the smoke monster. The speaking isn’t a magical ritual that prevents them from being harmed; the speaking is just that: words. They happen to be very persuasive people and they persuade people from killing them, which is why it’s important to not let them talk to you once you’ve made up your mind. I totally forgot that Sayid actually stabbed Flocke with no effect though, using the exact same dagger.
Anybody know of a website you can access from overseas to watch the current episodes?
I’m beginning to think this show exists simply to input Illuminati symbolism into mainstream consciousness. Basically internet memes for the rich and powerful who sit back and laugh at conspiracy theorist trying to save the world (where is AHVB at?) and at the rest of us for trying to make any sense of this otherwise great story.
To the show’s merit, have you ever tried reading old school fairy tales unabridged? Yeah… they make Lost look like a 1-act play. About as much sense as a football bat.
Didn’t Dogen say this so that Sayid would basically go on a suicide mission? He “couldn’t” kill Sayid because he didn’t have the heart, so he sent him to kill Flocke knowing he wouldn’t succeed, and in hope that Flocke would retaliate and kill him.
Read the post I made after that.
Simmons has a new lost podcast, anyone listen? I dont feel like it unless he calls Cuse on the crappiness of some of the recent episodes, especially this last one
I have a feeling smokey’s plan is going to become a reality.Remember when they was all on the flight and passed over where the island was suppose to be?then the scene goes under water and we se the egytian leg.I think its possibe, but this is lost so…
Smokey to Ben - “Ben, you can have the island to yourself if you help me.”
Ben in response - “Okay!”
Smokey to Ben 5 minutes later - “Im going to destroy the island”
Ben in response - “Okay!”
If you honestly don’t think the writing is total shit this season, you are without hope.
Jack you have to go back to the island - “Okay!”
Jack you have to protect the light! - “Okay!”
ok this episode was more fucking bullshit!!
Can someone tell me what they died for? Because this episode certainly didn’t. You would think an episode titled WHAT THEY DIED FOR would at least give a good, or at the very least emotional answer to that question.
It’s just bullshit, all along flocke’s goal has been to LEAVE the island, but yet Jacob has to find a replacement for himself in order to guard the light from flocke? who has never uttered a peep about doing anything other than leaving the island? (at least until the last 3 seconds of this episode). It’s just bullshit and its lazy.
There was ZERO emotional holdover from The Candidate episode, nothing to soften or explain the blow…nothing.
This did not feel like a penultimate episode. We have NO reason to like Jacob or want his plan to succeed, especially after last week’s episode, to which all Jacob can say is that he “made a mistake.” That is bullshit. Jacob is bullshit. After Sunday we will know if this whole show is bullshit.
Well Flocke wants to destroy the Island and looks like he succeeds if u remember seeing the Island undersea
no, he wants to leave the island.
(last 3 seconds of second to last episode) oh wait you’re right he wants to destroy it
Sorry to see the Nerd chick with the glasses get merced… she was kinda hot. That Westminster or whatever his name is; is probably wearing a vest or something lame like that.
