The LOST thread

Honestly… I just caught up from season 1 to the latest episode. I lost respect for the Hurley actor… Couldn’t he just shed some of his tit fat to make his stay on the island more believable? Don’t give me, “They have candy bars on the island” or “It’s the islands magic.” He ate all that shit a season or two ago. Why is he still heavy? Come on dude, step your game up.

Over all… kinda sad this is the last season… enjoying it so far.

since he was alive in the 1800s i’d assume he’d be dead in the alt universe in 2007

I was a Heroes fan…

Your opinion is your own. All of those theories actually had logical basis to them and I never once stated “this is whats happening, mother fuckers, believe that!”. No, instead of me “jumping ship”, I would blame it more on the story telling abilities of the writers in the past couple of seasons and moreover the fact that they obviously didn’t have this all planned out beforehand. I love this show and I don’t care WHICH direction it takes, whether it’s space ship time machines that inspired wonky Egyptian legend or just the Egyptian legends themselves. I don’t care if it’s about good and evil and the island is a “cork” that traps in the “darkness” (that happens to be able to teleport and travel in time). Jumping the ship? You must not be watching the same show.

And this episode WAS garbage. It told us a bunch of stuff we could have inferred. All that it DID do was reinstill Richard’s faith in the “light”. If you think watching 6 minutes of Richard being locked in a boat 3 times between 4 minutes of commercials entertaining, please, write for ABC. If you think that it’s boring and pointless you might actually get this show. And please, take your drivel elsewhere. Ad hominem. Look it up.

who watches commercials, isn’t that what dvr is for? the show has always been about the characters and their journey not the island. last nights episode was just another great story about a character on the island

Last nights episode was one of my favorites so far. Very well paced.

Man, this episode was retarded.

The cool thing about Lost wasn’t the mystery. Like I said before, the interesting part is how they tell the story, not what the story actually is.

Richard was a slave. Umm, yeah, Locke inferred that.
Richard came on the Black Rock. Not hard to guess.
Richard lives forever. No shit.
Richard works for Jacob as an advisor. We noticed.

All we did was see the guy who plays Richard cry poorly and speak two languages while alternating with two accents.

The directing in this episode was especially cheesy.

Hurley: You have to keep him off the island CLOSE UP! or else WE ALL GO TO HELL! Tense Violin Music

Man in Black: I will see you again. CLOSE UP OF WINE BOTTLE Sooner than you think. Tense Violin Music while shattering wine bottle in slow mo

Holy shit is this show starting to stink up the place. 8 more chances to salvage an entire series.

All aboard the Lost HATE TRAIN. Don’t worry if you don’t get on this time around. We’ll be back next week to pick up more passengers. I know ya’ll will be waiting.:bgrin:

^^^^ What he said. There was nothing good about that episode other than Jacob laying the total assbeat on Richard.

If the Island is a cork, and they destroyed the magnetic field in the alternate universe surely that means the Island is no longer the cork, so the hell is spreading in the alt universe.

Im on the hate train too. I’ve loved this show, but Season 6 so far been quite bad. Its going to take a lot to redeem the (seemingly) wasted time on the alt universe, and instead of giving us a few answers to the real remaining mysteries per episode, we are just getting answers to the mysteries that were easiest to infer along the way.

At least Richard’s flashback was actually the same character as our Richard, so I cared a lot more than I have all season. The alt-timeline stuff isnt even the same Sayid, Jack, Hurley, etc anymore. It may as well be a different character all together and (right now) has no bearing on the story of Lost.

Ah dam, I must say, I like the episodes, but dam, my complaint is that they took 6 seasons instead of 4.5-5 seasons…These flash sideways are ok, but its distracting as to what is really the focus of the show, which is why they are there. I mean, what the heck happened to the DHARMA inititative, DESMOND-I mean, seriously, what happened to him? He was able to see the future, then all of a sudden, he cant. Then he can “mind” travel to the island, then, we never hear from him again…and what happened to all this time traveling stuff? It feels that they all of a sudden dropped all this science stuff, to go with good vs evil. Which is fine, but the one thing I cant stand shows doing is when they completely forget about stuff that was the main focus in the first 3-4 seasons…But seriously, what happened to Desmond?!

Don’t ever expect to get answers to those questions. Ever.

I have a feeling the ending is going to be jack, as jacob’s replacement, and smokey-locke having some philosophical debate while watching a sunset on the beach.

…so how is it that the man in black appeared to Richard in person, but now he needs Lock’s body to operate?

he doesn’t need locke’s body, he used it for deception and now he’s just using it since he looks cool in it. people trust john locke

Jacob’s errand chick said he was stuck in locke’s form.

would he be stuck in locke’s form since locke’s body is still on the island and in tact? or is it because jacob died?

i always assumed the guy we saw last night was just another dead person on the island who he was impersonating

Your guess is as good as mine. Add it to the list of things that will probably never be explained. Speaking of list, we should compile one of all the unexplained stuff. Like, what was the purpose of walt’s storyline?

LoL I forgot about walt:rofl:

Walt was going to be important, then the dude that played Michael decided he wanted to do other things, so he dipped and Walt was then pointless, so they scrapped Walt entirely I guess. I thought they had a good thing going too.

I’m more on the hate train for this episode than not. I thought it was well made, but it revealed jack shit. And that’s kinda what I care about in the FINAL SEASON of this mystery-driven show.

Wait, wait what am I thinking? We found out how the statue was destroyed!
