If you read it, let me know what you think. I’m considering a re-read of the first two books before the new one is published.
Been passin’ this one around the discord recently, but to anyone interested, drop me a line on the discord if you want to read Fred Saberhagen’s Book of Swords series if you’re into the fantasy genre. So far, those that have seemed to have been enjoyin’ 'em, and they’re relatively unknown which continues to surprise me.
20,000 Leagues, about half way through it. Main character takes his time describing the details of everything he comes across; from every animal he sees, to the structure of the Nautilus, to the exact latitude and longitude of his journey. Still, the story doesn’t really drag on that much as a result, really interesting so far.
Ya, that’s classical writing for you. No television, so description was king. Today, there’s no point spending 6 paragraphs describing something you have probably seen a dozen times on the Discovery channel.

Wrong thread.

Anybody know of a good “books to read list”? I’m currently interested in reading philosophy, biographies, and poetry. I have this Arnold Schwarzenegger biography laying around my apartment I plan on reading one day… after I’m done studying this 1200 page text book and becoming certified for CISSP (computer security stuff)
Having my first stint with Barbera Kingsolver with The Lacuna. It’s wonderful taking a breath from sci-fi/thrillers.
