Hmm, mind taking some good pictures of the base piece for me? I need shots of the groove. Curious if the base is still getting dug into or not. That seems really odd.
The new fire hardened bases should avoid that issue altogether, this is actually the first case that I’ve heard of so far otherwise.
Ah, thought I’d answered you. So when you pull the collar up it just won’t move at all?
Okay, what I want you to do is to keep it out of the stick, and them kind of palm it in one hand so that you can pull the collar and kind of press the balltop/threading into your palm. Then give the base end of it some taps on a table, that should loosen it up.
When it’s loose, check for divots in the groove… I’m guessing you’ll see a bunch, I’ll get you a new base.

Long time kickstarter backer, finally installed the link on my newest stick. It works as intended, no complaints there and its a great product!
I was wondering if anyone was aware of a plastic shaft that could go around the link? The way the link is structured, my fingers sometimes knock/get annoyed by the metal bulge, and I was wondering if there was any way to reduce that effect. If this makes no sense, its because I’ve lost my mind from too much sf. Cheers and thanks for the help.
