The line between handcrafted and mass produced fight sticks

I just want to say that if someone found my Sinister Stick design good, as long as it’s not mass-produced, and is just used on handcrafted joysticks, I would not sick the hounds on anyone.

I know Hitbox insists all controllers with similar design but not authorized by them be referred to as ABCs or all button controllers.

If you decide to use the name SinisterSticks, I’ll consider it an honor and free advertising. I’m equally okay if you decide to hide or deny me as the source of your inspiration. I don’t ask you to prove your work.

One thing I won’t stand is mass production without my involvement. I was wondering what does the fight stick community about this:

At what point does the Shoryuken community no longer consider a particular joystick maker as a handcrafted joystick maker and does consider them a mass joystick producer?

You got the money to fight a IP dispute in court?
Reality is if you never register the Trade Mark, and never patent your designs, you got nothing to stand on. And that’s assuming you can afford a lawyer.

If Hori, Razer or another stick maker decides to ever steal your idea or your stick name, you got little recourse in the matter. And no one in the FGC will help, if they are even willing.

But the real point of the matter, what this to do with Tech Talk?

First, I was stating about the value of fighting for it. I was saying I wouldn’t fight a little guy.

Second what does the FCC have to do with anything?

Third I don’t have any next of kin, and I’m happy enough with my social security. Personally I offer my ideas is basically free and if it helps you significantly, I hope whoever it does help tosses me some sort of bone. I won’t get upset if the answer is no but…

And a lot of things I know I’m usually doing 1% or less of the work of the total project. I understand there are plenty of other people in the chain that help get something made.

At least I know I did something worthwhile on this Earth. I kind of need some sort of purpose just being stuck here in my home even before [the worldwide lockdown (I assume naming the geographical origin of the disease is apparently racist. ) ].

I can either give complain they’re not paying me “my millions and millions of dollars”. (Even though the probably be at least 2 less zeros.) Or I could be happy that I did something useful. I guess I could just choose to be happy.

If somebody does steal and mass produce the sinister stick brand or design…

I’m gonna go to war to make sure Stan gets his cut!!

Flagged for the casual racism.

Isn’t you stick just a ambidextrous stick that can play on a jaguar and virtual boy or something?

Topper, I usually try to have a lot of patience for you because I know you’re a little socially stunted, but you’ve made roughly 8,465 threads about this stick and this could of gone into any of them.

Stop. Making. New. Threads. For. This. Stick.

Please, God. Make it stop. Post in one place and rant in that thread. For real.

I am more debating to bring up theses threads have little to do with the whole board it self.
There is nothing Tech Talk about this whole thread.

Can you afford a lawyer? Is anything IP wise even registered? Is the name trademarked yet? Are the designs patented? Any copyrights? If not there little you can do.

You just be going to war with no ammunition.
Also the ambidextrous stick been done before, on SRK and not enough people took notice enough for it to make an impact.

First about the arguably racist name.

West Nile and Lyme’s disease are diseases named after the place of origin of the disease, so there is precident for that naming system.

Within China’s own media, Covid-19 is refered to as Wuhan virus.

I said, (and it’s true) that there is more than one type of Corona Virus. I was just being more specific. We do have shots for other Corona viruses, just not this particular strain.

As to the legal protection, I’ve been saying, I WOULD like to be paid for it, but considering the fact I have a decent yet humble lifestyle and no heirs, recognition is a more valuable currency in my situation than money. Plus most of theses companies have very protective agreements. So I just laid eternal web real estate on URLs and hopefully my friends’s kids will keep it up for me beyond my death. People will look up internet wayback machine and see I had this project way before anyone mass produced such a thing. I’m almost welcoming it being used.

My days of dillusion of millions of dollars are over. Leaving your human footprint on Earth is more important than money if you have guaranteed income and don’t have to worry about starving.

Could a midlife crisis of a virgin look like this?

Why you telling me brother? It ain’t my stick!

Why go to war for it then?

/thread.

Agreed. Buh bye thread.
