Willie Nelson holds it down. So does Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. Don’t know shit about current country.
It’s basically pop music for rednecks.
Wait… hold on. Lil’ B is not better than anyone on that list considering they can all rap on beat. That alone puts them above his level.
Say what you want about any of their mainstream radio shit; Drake, Wayne, Tyga and Khalifa have shown their lyrical talent throughout their careers.
Lil’ B is a gimmick. Much like Flocka and Future. The only difference is, I can actually tolerate Flocka because he acknowledges that his music lacks creative lyricism and is all about being hype.
Its american folk music along with bluegrass and zydeco. What people do with an artform does not say anything about the style itself. Look at punk, NOFX has to be put in the same category as Good Charlotte. It is what it is man.
No fool, I am talking about current country music. What the fuck, did you major in music history? lol kill yoself
Woah woah woah there pahtna. Drake and Wiz are actual lyricists.
You should probably troll better. Aside from getting Nick to admit he loves Based Cocks all the shit your spewing is Roll tier.
And here it is, this is what it looks like: The only nigga in the world who defends Drake. Look at his Dante avatar, admire his 2012 join date. Yo son, gamefaqs is -> www.gamefaqs.com
You said you didn’t know shit about current country and I stated that it is basically pop music, I think you trolled yourself you big dummy.
Trying so hard to prove a point you can’t even carry on with a normal conversation looking ass.
@pertho Calm the fuck down. You letting the rampant autism in this forum effect your senses.
aye nick stay based bro. Lil B is used to receiving hate on an everyday basis so as die hard fans we should expect the same. But as always haters gonna hate. Pink Flame on the way.
Probably. I’ve been too busy banging my wife and playing M:TG.
Ok, im being absolutely serious when im saying everything that i am. I feel like one of the biggest problems with lil b and his fan base is that people listen to him and automatically assume he is joking 100% of the time. A lot of lil b’s fanbase and popularity stems from the songs that are put out in a joking context and because of this its really hard to tell who is genuinely a fan of him and who isn’t. Generally the people who run to defend him do so in a way that makes it so people who arent very familiar with lil b feel alienated and those that are either just join in for shits and giggles or viscerally hate him.
This being said, when taken seriously Lil B is technically not a super gifted MC but what he is doing is important, unique, and there is absolutely a decent amount of good music coming from what hes doing. What i have heard him do “seriously” leans positively toward rising modern rap conventions. He understands how to rap over a beat, by letting the production do most of the work he is driving an ever growing atmospheric/electronic oriented subset of rap forward (his slow choppy delivery compliments the more atmospheric beats he uses). This is especially relevant given the rise in popularity to rappers like Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky. If sampling a slowdive song is not progressive rap then I honestly don’t know what is. All technicality aside though the way i see it Lil b’s joking songs make the most important statement about his character and what he’s doing to the current rap game. Rap is and has always been a genre dominated by a culture of violence, homophobia, megalomania, and materialism. In all seriousness there isn’t a whole lot of positivity in the genre, and because of this songs that perpetuate these dangerous rap themes have pervaded their way heavily into our culture. What lil b is doing is pretty brave in my eyes, he’s openly stepping up against this longstanding culture of hate and pretty much saying “Fuck that”. His joking songs are incredibly self conscious, they’re intentionally over the top and stupid in their own fun way. The songs his songs poke fun at are scarily unaware of their own harmfulness and stupidity. Its something thats been going on for far too long without any mainstream responses against it from people in the rap game. In his own jokingness lil b is the first positive mainstream response to this longstanding genre of hostility. I mean shit, what other rapper would have the balls to name their album “Im Gay”? I have a deep level of respect for him to do something like that, while on the outside something like that may appear to be a joke i firmly believe there is a level of seriousness in a statement like that that can’t be overlooked.
I love lil b, i love what he’s doing, and im sick of all these people who see him and immediately write him off as some sort of joke with no merit whatsoever. Seriously, just because a lot of what he releases is not particularly serious does not mean he’s not serious about anything, and why hate on someone whose only goal is spread positivity? All this visceral opposition is stupid, if you don’t respect his artistic vision thats fine, just leave it at that. Stay based.
That undoubtedly offers more insight than Lil’ B ever deliberately put into a song.
Idk man, the man’s a pretty prodigious performance artist if you ask me.
Im seriously just sick to death of hearing the 2 sides of the lil b debate. “Lil B is a joke who sucks, wanton soup is the dumbest thing ever.” and at the other side of the spectrum, “OMG BASED GOD, YOU CAN FUCK MY BITCH ANY DAY! SWAG!” People seem to forget he’s a person whose devoting his life to this stuff.
It’s not up to people to go hunting for this niggas so called serious work so they can do some in depth analysis like some of you scrub ass dudes. If someone, like my girl for instance, gets exposed to this dudes songs via youtube, and their first reaction is “Are you serious” then that’s what a person is going to be judged by. Not all this other supposed shit that dude is doing behind the scenes or whatever.
Anyways, THIS song STILL represents MY feelings on the whole industry as a whole.

By hunt do you mean take 30 seconds and look up a song of his on youtube? Or maybe listen to the official lp he released before you go forming opinions on him? Honestly i find it weird people judge this guy so hard without listening to a full album. If you’re seriously into any type of music then obviously youre gonna do some looking for it.
Itd be like judging Radiohead after hearing a song from pablo honey, or judging Kanye after hearing a song from 808s. Its not fair to the artist or yourself to just go and form opinions like that when you really dont understand what you’re talking about. I dont see any reason i should respect the opinion of some guy who supposedly judges artists after listening to a song of youtube. I have no reason to give you any credit at all.
Lil B is not a joke, and I am sorry for anyone who thinks he is or thinks that his fans are just trolls.
and angelpalm, one day I hope you find based
Nigga, being exposed to more than 30 seconds of Lil B is enough for anyone with a brain to form an opinion. That fact that he is releasing anything is a testament to the state of today’s youth and just how worthless a majority of you cocksuckers really are. 30 seconds stfu, acting like niggas listening to 3 or 4 songs isn’t enough for me to say, NOPE HAD ENOUGH, OH WAIT MAYBE I SHOULD TORTURE MYSELF MORE BECAUSE THAT’S THE SMART THING TO DO.
Sound like one of these fags from the anime thread that watch a whole season of a show and complain the whole time about how they hate it, nigga is that what ya’ll want me to be? Some trash ass pillow fucking weeboo? Is that BASED?
like a martian is a pretty good song to get hype to.
like if you have a big penis
When i want positive hip hop, i put in my copy of willenium.
