I liked Lil B just a bit before the blow up in the FGC, but I have to admit that “Based Robot (Remix) BASED FREESTYLE” wasn’t one of my favorites during that time, but the troll was just too good not to laugh at it. (You should seriously check out the fuckin’ comments in that video)
Honestly, like the majority of the fans, at first, I did not like his music at all and even compared him to Soulja Boy after listening to “Hoes on my Dick.” A week later, I heard “Im a Fag Im a Lesbian BASED FREESTYLE” and I just laughed my ass off and said he was “a fucking idiot.” However, I kept listening to the song every once and a while and caught myself singing it to my friend, in attempt to troll him during our Marvel matches.
It was happening. The Based God was converting my religious ways and it was working.
Then… after listening to this:

…the conversion was complete.
After that, I became a person who loves to thank Based God every morning when I wake up and will be taking Culinary Arts classes in colleges, while being 100% positive.
Anyone else have a similar story or just became straight up #Based from the very beginning?
you know we have a rap thread, where people talk about, you know… rap. given that there isn’t a thread for legitimate GOAT MC’s what in tarnation makes you think that this fuck faced piece of shit deserves his own thread?
haha yeah, i don’t want to read anything about him in there either - but for fuck sake an appreciation thread for lil b? what’s next, a thread dedicated to how good dragon’s lair on nes is? spoilers, it’s fucking awful.
I used to think Lil B was cool, then people like this started taking it overboard:
Typical Lil B Fan (from my experience)

Pretty much everyone started acting like this and they sounded like Pokemon repeating the catchphrase. Hell, even James Chen started talking about swag, and it instantly became uncool for me. Music-wise, it was cool until I realized that bass+“swag/bitches/hoes”+gimmick(Wonton Soup, celebrity, DDR Sakura Beat) was all he had.
Its got nothing to do with ‘serious’, and everything to do with him being part of the problem with rap music right now. The concept that just ‘saying swag’ being the tool for emulating actually HAVING that charisma can lead to a career larger than contemporaries with actual talent or actual charisma…its unsettling…period.
He does not deserve ‘appreciation’…period. If I had the chance…I think I’d break my streak of avoiding ‘sins’ and steal his camera…and camcorder…and mic…and proceed to do everything in my power to get him to just STFU and get a normal 9-5. I don’t wish harm on him, I want success for everyone…real talk I do, but his success is built upon overshadowing actual credible music. He doesn’t care enough to even memorize the lyrics to his own damn songs. :smh:
If you think people are hating then you don’t understand the real meaning of the word. It is okay to like it just don’t force it upon other people. People liked him because he is “trolling” music, which in turn downgrades the quality and values of serious artist. Lil B is just a fad. Look how hard he fell off the map after he dropped a real album last year. His hardcore fans rejected the fact he could actually rap and the album was not the same as his mix tapes. It goes to show that he is truly a fad and will fade away.
