Someone at Nintendo is being demanded to commit seppuku right now since someone goofed and released the Hero’s mode trailer for Wind Waker HD too early AND it confirmed the rumored Wii U bundle.
looks like Nintendo yanked that trailer from that guy’s youtube account
Wind Waker HD got an official date of Oct. 4th in NA. It was announced through the symphony of the godessess website
If you happen to be going to the concert in seattle they will have wii U kiosks there to play the game on.
I know the movie talk was from a while back, but I think LoZ is one of the few games that’s almost perfectly suited to any type of movie format. Animated would almost certainly be better as animated movies are expected to have more of a fantasy feel to them, and some of what makes Zelda what it is wouldn’t have to be muted in order to appeal to a wider audience just because it’s got real people, but it could still work as a live action movie. Zelda’s main story isn’t very complex, so it lends itself well to a ~ 90 minute production. If done right it’d have just enough story to make a coherent film without leaving too much out, and having to insert too much filler.
Zelda movie can easily be done so long as the people who are directing and scripting it actually take the source material seriously. Unfortunately Game IP + Hollywood = 90% chance of fucking up. We might not this movie whenever it happens in our lifetime since Nintendo is so protective of it’s IP’s and disenfranchised with movies for their properties after SMB that they won’t even let a non profit short movie fan project get kickstarted. (The recent Metroid short film got canned)
ALBW’s NA boxart got released

ALBW will get released on the 22nd
WWHD will get released digitally Sept 20th along with the Wind Waker HD bundle followed by the regular physical release and GS exclusive collector’s edition with a WW Ganondorf figurine for 54.99.
The game also got officially announced at 49.99 for the normal edition.
I checked on our lists at work and IGN got the price incorrect on the collector’s edition. It’s actually 59.99. Still reserved it regardless.
Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD - Story Trailer
I love Zelda and this is by far the best looking one in the series, the updated visuals have a vibrant pop that make it look like a completely new game and make me wonder if EAD could make an old game look this nice, imagine what they can do for a real Zelda U. That being said the price is kind of greedy, if I had a WiiU I wouldn’t pay more than $30-40. This is a 10 year old game with no DLC just updated visuals so asking $60 is kinda crazy to me.
60 is only for the collectors edition. Regular is 50.
That ALBW box art is pure sex.

I started marketing in my store today and in the process discovered that if you preorder ALBW you get a code to download Oracle of Ages off of the eShop. Also that Limited Edition of Wind Waker was literally only up for like 3-4 days. I’m so glad I switched my preorder over when I had a chance.
Pop Fiction did a segment on the Ghost of Misery Mire in ALttP.
I watched the introduction video above. Man, I forgot how good Wind Waker is. I remember being a little disappointed that there were not that many dungeons, and towards the end of the game some of the missions seemed tedious, but the game is full of so much awesome. I was actually kind of on the fence about getting it, but after watching that video I decided that it’s going to be a day-one purchase.
Is Spirit Tracks worth getting? I loved Phantom Hourglass but if it’s the same shit then I might pass.
I have very fond memories of Wind Waker. The anguish and anger of people who though they were getting the Spaceworld 2000 demo Zelda and all the way up to people reluctantly coming to terms that it was in fact great Zelda title. I’m probably 1 of like 20 people that enjoyed sailing in that game. And that ending still goes down easily as being one of the top 5 endings for the Zelda series.
Spirit Tracks is kinda the same but it has enough to differentiate it. I actually prefer Phantom Hourglass only a small smidge more than Spirit Tracks.
Sailing was da bomb!
WWHD looks like the exact same game except with some shaders added. Really can’t see any HD differences here.
Again, they should have redone Majora’s Mask instead. I thought people didn’t like Wind Waker because of the cell shaded graphics and the long sailing times, but now everyone seems to be creaming themselves over it. I don’t understand.
Wind Waker was always good. I was like one of about ten people who didn’t throw a bitch fit when Wind Waker first released. “But it dun look like OoT/Spaceworld demo!” and “Link is so ugly looking now!” Turns out that games graphics aged great and is still in my top ten most beautiful and stylistically amazing games I’ve ever seen.
Which is ironic, because when Nintendo gave all the babies their realistic Zelda, everyone hated it. Just proves that Nintendo is always gonna be in a “damned if they do, damned if they don’t” situation…
Exactly.
Which is why I think they should have redone Majora’s Mask instead.
That meme never fails to make me laugh for 5 minutes straight
I feel it would be wrong to skip over Spirit Tracks and go straight to A Link Between Worlds, I was just a bit disappointed to hear its almost a copy of Phantom Hourglass. Still, though I’m sure it’ll be a great entry in the franchise like PH was. A lot of people hated having to return to the temple of the ocean king but I liked the way it was handled with the multiple floors I just wouldn’t want that to be a regular thing in future Zeldas.
