The Legend of Zelda thread - Ganon's bodyshop will be open for business on Nov. 20th

just beat the 3rd temple in Phantom Hourglass.

Bow and Arrow is ass in this game. So very frustrating.

I think the whip in TS is way worse. :annoy:

Aside from the horrible fucking fan, some of these weapons in Spirit Tracks are kinda cool. The lasso and the Sand wand are fun to use.

Cynt: What’s the problem with the lasso? Aside from getting 1;15 in the lasso race, it’s pretty easy to use.

Played Zelda 1, 2, 3 (Link to the Past is a crappy name, in Japan it’s called Triforce of the Gods. Nintendo USA got scared of religous folk. Can’t be called ‘Past’ if it’s confirmed to occur after Zelda 2), Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages and am playing Gamecube Twilight Princess now. After that I’ll either play Wind Waker or Minish Cap. Love the series!

So far the Oracle Games followed by Zelda 2 are my favorites. The Oracle games for the puzzles and Zelda 2 because it’s the most adult game I played - no ‘snow white’ Link who can talk to animals, no cuckoos, etc. - and I lean towards that a bit more. Twilight seems to be following in those foot steps kinda (Link can talk to animals only as an animal, eh I’ll take it) so I’m liking it a lot so far. I suppose I always wanted the series to be more about knights and dragons even though Nintendo doesn’t always see it that way. It’s cool though, almost any Nintendo game you play you still get hooked on!

All of the Zelda manga available in the US is dope! They cover the Oracle Games, Ocarina and Four Swords. 8 volumes so far.

Anyone mess with any timeline / split time theories regarding which order the games take place? Lancun’s done my favorite one and has plenty of follow ups. Of all the ones I’ve seen his makes the most sense. Yeah hopefully Nintendo will tell us the true order the games take place in at some point. They say they know, but won’t tell us… So we are left to speculate for now. :wonder:

Oh and if you have some free time, there’s a hella recent 80+ minute fan film based on Ocarina of Time called The Hero Of Time. It contadicts a lot of aspects of the game and it is VERY BUDGET. However all things considered it’s still pretty good and entertaining. Oh and it’s better than Dragon Ball Evolution at least.

WELL EXCUUUUUSE ME PRINCESS! :lovin:

The whip’s fine for doing the tarzan, but using it for anything remotely precise such as fighting or puzzle solving, it’s far too damn picky and assuming. That, and the incessant need to stop using it after you’ve done something sometimes but never when you want it to and always when you don’t want it to made me hate the fucker. The boss fight involving that thing really irked me. Rolled off the platform so many times due to the suddenly dropping whip action, took me several swings just to grab what I needed to hit the bastard with, and always seemed to stay engaged when I really needed to get the fuck out of dodge. It’s just something that I’d have no problem with if it were normal controls instead of the touch screen shit.

I thought that track was called Midna’s Lament? eh…If you like the music from TP and OoT check out these 2 OCReMixes

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ‘No Hope’

that one has a very small amount of lyrics at the end.

Just beat the Ghost Ship.
Fuck the Ocean King Temple. In the butt.

  • Nostalgiac bastard. lol

  • Does Spirit Tracks overplay the vehicle gimmick? I liked Phantom Hourglass, but I wasn’t too keen on having to travel so much in the boat. Or am I just old school?

  • Does Spirit Tracks overplay the vehicle gimmick?[/quote]

Yes. Yes it does.

Spirit Tracks makes me want Windwaker’s boat shit back. It’s that bad.

Supposedly in an interview Aonuma said that there’s actually 2 timelines going on now in the LOZ universe. Which made me :wtf:. God damn Ocarina of Time…time traveling seems to always mess up stuff since Majora’s Mask technically probbably takes place in the same breath as OoT since Link went back. I was going to attempt to do a timeline but trying to deal with the time travel thing is making my head hurt lol.

I also didn’t know that they finished that fan movie. I wanted to see it so thanks for the Link.

Edit:

oh yeah…I’m gonna go ahead and post this again.

I see what you did there!

The past few zeldas have sucked. Nintendo needs to follow capcom’s lead and do a new 8-bit zelda in LOZ style.

^ an 8 bit Zelda? I don’t know…that sounds not as appealing as playing 8-bit MM to me. I suppose it would have to be dependent on how it was done.

Hey Sano…Nintendo shut down that fan film.

Nintendo Pulls Plug on Zelda Fan Film:

Crack is whack, my friend, crack is whack.

The OG Zelda was great, but no one wants to see that again, besides they actually redid it back in SNES days in Japan on Nintendo’s satellite system or something.

What Nintendo needs to do is reuse the Wind Waker graphics, shit is still to this day one of the best cel shading I have ever seen done on a console. They’ve done nice stuff with the DS games, but I would love to see that beautiful animation that the GC was displaying in all its glory in WW, pushed further along. With maybe less ocean.

Pff… two weeks it took Nintendo to put a stop on it after its release. That’s roughly 13 days too slow for someone to put a stop on something being released on the internet. You know it’s being torrented harder than the Star Wars Christmas Special right about now.

Wow. A fan film? That’s random. Nintendo’s wild like that sometimes.

“OMG THEY KILLED THE ZELDA MOVIE! YOU BASTARDS!”

I don’t think that’s necessary, although if they did do that, they had better include a Second Quest. Hell, do that anyway with the newer Zeldas. What I really want is a straight-up Zelda game, 8-bit or otherwise.

I beat Spirit Tracks yesterday. I’m done with these versions of Zelda.

Your thoughts on the train part of the last boss?

…wat? :wtf:

Seriously? A train segment in the middle of the fucking final boss?

Glad I fucking stopped playing. Got to a point that truly pissed me off so much I refuse to go further. It was in the 4th segment of the Spirit Temple, where you had to fire an arrow through a series of those redirectors, one of which the Phantom was supposed to hold up. The problem was that I had, in the process of figuring out how, isolated myself on a place surrounded by lava death, and the Phantom holding said redirector… but couldn’t put it down. As far as I can tell, the only way to make the Phantom put it down is to leave the floor, as I spent a good hour trying to find out. My only choice was to meet my liquid hot magma fate… to which I had to do the whole thing over. After I found out this, I said “fuck it” and put it down for good.

Seriously, fuck Spirit Tracks.
