Hell no, I didn’t click the link.
But the very fact of their giving away its existence ruined a big secret for me.
I hope they burn in abject poverty for that.

I’m with CLU. Knowing it exists will make time spent hunting down LOOT feel like I’m wasting my time when I could be cash farming and buying them. Discovering it instead would have been cooler. They should put stuff like that in their web guide and leave it there with a link like “Find out all of SS’s Deepest secrets here.”
That those fools get their answers and the rest of us who understand what Zelda style games are about, get to find shit like you’re supposed to.
Yeah they probably could have handled it better. By doing what Radiant said but for me knowing of it’s existence doesn’t mean anything unless I know exactly where it is which I’m still pretty much in the dark about at the moment. Collecting the stuff still doesn’t feel worthless too me because of that simple fact and another unknown that has to do with the cash farming. I do get what you guys are saying though.
It saiys right int he link the store is in
Zelda Shit
Skyloft.
That narrows it down a FUCK LOAD. I just think it could have been done with a lot more tact. It’s sloppy ass garbage for IGN to do.
yeah it says in that area but it doesn’t tell me if I have to go through some hoops to do it or if it’s just some secret pathway to get to it. Yeah it narrows it down which is why I said I get where you guys are coming from and agree they could have made that a bit more vague on the link.
I don’t really understand the necessity to blatantly show off secrets in such a manner. It’s a stupid ass practice. Shouldn’t be to difficult to advertise that you have the most hidden of secrets, without giving actual info regarding it on the front page…
Fuck IGN man. That’s all I gotta say about that.
I didn’t go to their site or anything, but whatever it is sounds pretty serious. I don’t want this game spoiled for me.
questions about a later minor enemy
How are you suppose to fight the big dudes with the spears and metal shields? The first time I fought one in the Sand Ocean, I placed a bomb down and ran around it (he was more concerned about that than me). I just finished the escort mission up the mountain to get to the fire dungeon. I sniped the first two during this section with 5 arrows and the last one I just let attack the robot, then ran behind him and killed him with the sword. I made it past them, so mission accomplished, but I feel like I’m doing it wrong.
The main reason the water temple in OoT was so annoying was when you hit a switch you had no idea what the fuck it opened, like it showed for every other dungeon when you hit a switch. They ended up fixing that in the 3DS version.
Sprint up the shields. At first I thought you were supposed to hit the cracks with your sword. You can also just shield bash the spear and hit em that way.
Finished Skyward Sword today. This game is amazing.
I finished Skyward Sword today. Impressions:
[details=Spoiler]I liked the game overall but there were 3 things that bothered me:
Limited item selection - Too many items like Bow and Slingshot or Whip and Clawshot were redundant. There was no magic either.
Areas - Flying in the sky is inferior to sailing in Wind Waker or riding the horse in Twilight. With only 3 major places to explore, a lot of the areas felt reused way too much.
Music - Nothing memorable other than Ballad of the Goddess and older Zelda themes. The segments where you had to play the harp were a disaster.
That said, I love how Zelda has a fun personality and that there was actually some romance involved. Characters in general were pretty good. Story did not disappoint and the combat was much better than previous games too. Art is great but the graphics really show Wii’s age.
I still feel that LttP, OoT, and WW were better. Maybe reading the previews on IGN hyped the game too much for me.[/details]
I"m having trouble with this puzzle on the ship where you have to hit it 4 times. I already did what I had to do to get the supposed order but I’ve pretty much hit the thing in what I was pretty sure was the proper order a thousand times and no result. I don’t know if I’m reading the symbols wrong or not but there’s only but so many ways I can read them and get it incorrect. I get the feeling I’m probably missing something small here that’s gonna make me hate myself.
I’m in the lanryu desert right now.
Question for those who have it, does the soundtrack come with every game or only like a special edition preorder? I’m currently renting it from gamefly so I don’t know.
Pay attention to the wheels beside the door. They provide a clue as to how you should be reading the wheels on the floor. If you think of the wheels like a compass where the red portion indicates north, you should get it.
Every game. Comes packaged in the regular box.
yeah that’s what I’ve been doing. I read them closest to my position to farthest and vice versa and then tried doing it from left to right and it still wasn’t activating. I’m gonna attempt again later today after work.
The wheels are numbered. Look at the steering pegs.
I’m at the final dungeon. Brilliantly designed!
Finished it up today. Now that I have some grasp on the combat system, I’ll probably play it again on the new difficulty mode.
Man, I love this game. It fixed so many issues I had with TP and even OOT. It could have been absolutely gdlk, but they did some things that absolutely boggled my mind.
Impressions and Spoilers
[details=Spoiler]
The Levels / Dungeons: It’s such a great change of pace that the overworlds actually functioned like dungeons. Some of the puzzles actually took some thought to them, which is wonderful. That said, they reused some of the motif’s way to much on return visits. Stuff like having to go up the mountain once, then do it again for an escort mission (more on that later), and then one more time for a stealth section. C’mon son. I actually liked the stealth section of the game, but they could have done more to the area other than put up some gates and darken it. I would have rather gone through another dungeon entirely, instead of having to fight through the same areas again, for the umpteenth time. Or they could have cut it.
No Snow stage is absolutely criminal, especially since TP’s was so nice.
Skyworld: I like the central hub. It had a strong since of community to it and felt like you actually belonged there, instead of being random avatar in a green tunic with a fairy assistant. Flying around was fun, but it felt like there wasn’t much to do when you were actually flying. It’s basically the same thing as WW. They could have had some mini-dungeon like areas for item upgrades or something…
Items: Thank god for the upgrade system. Seriously, whomever at nintendo thought it prudent to do this, you are amazing. Maybe they could have had areas where you were forced to have upgraded items to get through them. As it stands now, you don’t need to upgrade a damn thing.
Escort Mission: Why on Earth is this in the game? Everything was going so well, until I got to this part. It’s not that it was difficult, but it was tedious. In an age where Resident Evil 4 exists, why can’t we tell the AI to sit the fuck down somewhere, while we handle business? To make matters worse, if you get close to an enemy, this jackass following you doesn’t move out of the way. Ashley moved the fuck out of Leon’s way when his gun was drawn. Why did this dickhead even decide to land there? sigh
Storyline: Absolutely Gdlk. The presentation was so good. I felt some sadness throughout the storyline. Zelda and Link actually had a real connection / relationship in this game. Link fought through hell to get his girl back and at the end he finally got a real reward / happy ending. Good shit.
The person in charge of the cutscenes leveled the fuck up too. The angles and visuals in this were amazing. Bravo.
The Bosses: This game has some of my favorite bosses. That said, I don’t think it holds a candle to OOT’s set of bosses or TP’s Sky and Water dungeon boss, outside of Ghiram 1/2/3 and Akuma…I mean Demise (for him, it’s more because of the surrounding). I have fond memories of fighting Ganon with Silver arrows in the first one and having to work solo in OOT. In this…I’ll probably remember it, because I charged my sword with fucking lightning bolts, like a bawse ass mini Zeus, not really because I took down someone truly gdlk…:bluu: I had more trouble fighting Iron Fist Ghiram than his master. lol If I low level it, then he might pose some trouble.
Why didn’t they go further with the whole Dark Master Sword angle. Shit, when I saw that, I was surprised we didn’t see Dark Link pop out from somewhere, before OG Ganon stepped into the scene looking like Oni Akuma with rainbow gell in his head. I thought he was going to raging demon me when glided towards me. LOL.
Music: Fine to me. They did a great job.
Sidekick: I understand the whole Goddess AI angle, but damn…coming off of Midna, that was a huge ass let down. Can’t say she wasn’t helpful though. She was a damn gps/hint system all in one.
Map: Waypoints…thank god. All that needs to be said. [/details]
All in all, the game was incredible. It feels great to be able to sit down and enjoy a game that felt like the devs gave a shit and weren’t trying to milk dlc content or whatever. This could have been the perfect Zelda game, but it has some unnecessary issues added to it. It probably could have been cut down in length due to them. I’m really looking forward to having another one.
If I like this more than OOT, I have no clue yet. This might be in my top 10 games though.
about to face Oni. I dont want the game to end though.
