I hope there’s some kind of bowling minigame in this. Rolling bombs is actually fun.
Im liking SS so far a lot. Done the first dungeon yesterday, excited to play today.
Big problem I have with it: Its SO LINEAR GAH! But hopefully this will change as I progress…
Can you play this game on the old school controller? Or do you have to do all the waving nonsense?
You have to use the Wii motion plus. If you haven’t gotten motion plus yet the golden wiimote includes it in the bundle.
You only wave the wiimote around to use the sword and throw stuff. Feels very natural.
If you really need a controller maybe hang out and see what the Wii U version is like. Doubtful it will abandon the wiimote though.
Listened to the soundtrack on my way to work. Now I got that Skyward theme stuck in my head. I’m humming it on the job like a retard.

God dammit…Wednesday is so far away.
Edit: Also + points to Sano for loving Zelda II. I feel a little less alone in the world. That game is one of the best Zelda games, neigh, best games on the NES, period.
Can you not attack while moving? Seems like its a big deal to me. Although the only reason why I say that is because I have this knack of wanting to mow down every fucking blade of grass.
Completed the first dungeon and I’m really enjoying it.
Right, A, Down, Right, A, Down,
I actually started playing Zelda II on my 3DS out of curiosity and so far I’ve found it interesting. I haven’t gotten past the first dungeon yet though…I need to get back to it but I don’t know when that will be.
Another small thing from Twilight princess that I thought was great but wasn’t included.
 puts on nerd glasses If you want to be technical it’d be A,A, down, down, up, up
whoops i failed myself and millions of zelda fans what i meant to put was Right, A, Down, Right, A, Down,
Made it to the desert.
[details=Spoiler] Loving the stones with the AOE time shift. One of the bokoblins killed himself my walking out of the field and removing himself from existence.

I like that rupees are much more useful this time around. Also, I discovered that you can sell items now.
I’m excited for the people that make it past the desert.
At first, I thought this game had the feeling I love so much from Wind Waker. Not exactly the same, but a similar subtle something that made me feel good. It does, and I love that, but now I see it also has that fucking-badassness that I loved so much from Twilight Princess.
This game is the shit.
EDIT: Also, in no other game have I been as entertained by just standing in a high place and looking around.
EDITx2: I’ve always loved how small things in Zelda games are built on and woven into other Zelda games. Skyward Sword as TONS of cool shit that I could see Nintendo expanding on in any direction of the Zelda timeline. I’ve always wondered when they’d work with the tibits of lore from Majora’s Mask. So far, I think with Skyward Sword they’re building on those tidbits in a big way, molding something truly juicy for the future.
Beedle has lost his god damn mind with some of these prices. He’s trying to rob me of everything I got and it’s only the beginning of the game lol.
Played about an hour today. Already I can feel this is going to be good. The storytelling so far is better than previous zeldas. I don’t mind the motion control too much, so far it feels like it’s just tacked on but I haven’t solved any of the puzzles or dungeons yet so I can’t be a good judge.
Fought a Stalfos or Lizalfos yet?
I feel like with the skyward strike there just needs to be someone good at art to do a Tron style drawing of Link and Zelda with Link holding his sword up for a skyward strike.
First time fighting a Technoblin = ow…maybe from th-OW…or how about -OW!!!..ok then maybe ju…
Only got in another yesterday. So three hours of gaming total. FML…
OMG using the Wii-mote to pick up the sword from the stone all Excalibur like ruled! And HELL YEAH I can shoot with my sword again just like Zelda 1 and 2! Hold the Wiimote up in the air to charge, point it straight and jab it forward to fire a single blast forward word! So what it doesn’t cover the range of firing a cylinder? I’M RELIVING MY CHILDHOOD!!! :lovin:
Throwing a bomb at a Technoblin and watching him do whatever he can to get away from it including running right off a cliff to his doom is entertaining.
Finished the 3rd dungeon, good stuff. Things are picking up!
I’m dealing with the 3rd dungeon right now myself
