I’ve put about 2-3 hours into BotW so far, still in the beginning part of the Great Plateau on the hunt for shrines.
That one shrine in the Great Plateau…
You may want to learn how shield parry those things now, because…its the best method of taking them down.
Enjoy your time!
Remember BOTW is all about exploration and finding stuff in the most inconspicuous places.
Take your time, its not a race. And if something looks sorta out of place, there possibly a reason, something is hidden there.
Shield party and that one sword strike (forgot what’s its called) you master those and you be a beast in BOTW despite your gears.
It’s how people do speed runs as naked link doing a solid bead line to the final boss.
I’ve noticed this trend in videogames in general, and it finally clicked in Jedi Fallen Order. Stand your ground, block, parry, counter. I spent half the game dodging and running and it wasn’t until it clicked that I started destroying. Makes me want to go back to Sekiro with this newfound mindset. BotW, too.
Finished Urbosa’s DLC missions!!
For the hell that was ImaginaryRealm Thunderblight Ganon, her cutscenes with Zelda were the best in the game:
Yea honeslty the Gerudo made out like Bandits when it comes to meaningful screen time and expanded lore. They got a bit of a developed vocabulary, the desert it loaded with more rich content, and Urbosa is the best of the Champions imo. I really happy with how much we learn about the Gerudo is BOTW. I hope we continue to learn more in BOTW2. Hope all the races get more in the sequel. I really like how BOTW told it’s story but I hope the sequel has a meatier one, especially with it looking like Zelda will be tagging along for the trip.
Double Postin an I don’t care!
So I just learned that the Shiekah Slate quest notes are different in the Japanese language version. Ours is written second person, You this, You that, but in Japanese it’s written first person…I this…I that. Like…they are written by Link. There are even lines that aren’t in the English version that really give us a look into his motivations. This really kinda pisses me off. Why was thins changed and in some cases just flat out removed? This is fucking narrative content in a game that many would like more narrative content in. Based on what I’ve read in this post it’s changed my impression of a number of memory scenes and especially the true ending and only for the better. Why would you do this Nintendo!?!
Anyway here is the link to some of the Quest Entries retranslated for those interested.
I wish we had gotten these…
These logs now really display that this Link is best Link. His replies in the game that you choose (when talking to NPCs) now make more sense.
Yea it really recontexualizes a ton of moments in the game huh?
Is there a legit source that can confirm what the post is saying? It seems too obvious that something like the log being in Link’s voice has been a thing in Japanese but no one noticed until now.
Well American fans had no idea, and Japaneses fans just accepted it at face value and moved on
Yeah I knew about this and don’t know why NoA decided to change this. Can’t remember where I first read about it…might have been in the the BotW compendium book that came out where I read about it.
I misread her name as poke.
Well it helps that all the Gerudo Women are Snu-Snu material.
Who in Hyrule would not want to poke Pokki?
