Freaking LOVE the orchestrated music. About time they had it.
Zelda started sucking after Majora’s Mask. It’s a shame. Majora was the pinnacle of that series for me and they will probably never reach that point, or surpass it ever again. This new Zelda looks like an HD PS2 game.
Majora’s Mask had shit for its main story and was too short, but the side quests, trials, games, the world and the characters were all strictly better than OoT. It was a disappointment to some kids cos there were no Zelda or Ganon in it, but it was a good game. In OoT, you just have that usual “kid up to saving the whole world”.
Minish Cap was also too short, but it was cool. The bosses were all much better than the ones in 3D Zeldas.
Made by the same composers who worked on the Mario Galaxy games.
Link has a run now, and can push things harder?
Why am I so retardedly hype for that now?
:looney:
tried to restart my session on phantom hourglass after a looooong hiatus.
I have no idea where the fuck I am or what I’m supposed to do I hate when that happens…
went to LttP then instead (again, after a long hiatus), thankfully the dungeons are numbered on the map so I have at least a minor idea what to do.
OG LoZ is great. I really liked LoZ2, Oracle of Seasons, Wind Waker (so gooood)…actually liked every one that I’ve played (though I haven’t yet played them all, hard to when older…)
'Looking forward to Skyward Sword.
I just started playing Spirit Tracks to try and hold me over and just remembered this loathing and disgusted feeling I had from playing Phantom Hourglass… I still fucking hate the forced stylus controls and microphone gimmicks nintendo tried to push on me. I’m already tired of blowing into the mic and my right hand is cramped up while still obscuring my view 30% of the time. I would seriously like this game 10 times better if I could just play it with traditional controls. Unfortunately, PH and ST will be the only 2 Zelda games I played that I will not be supporting nintendo for.
I didn’t have a problem with TP’s motion controls though (no cramping for starters), so I hope SS will work out in that department. I just hope these recent titles don’t mean the end of Zelda games with normal controls… at least for top-down handheld Zeldas. I miss the style the Zelda’s on the GB/GBC had. Those games were fucking godlike. Fortunately, I haven’t played FSA yet, so that’s a game with the option of traditional controls that I can look forward to if I can get my hands on a copy
Capcom made all the GB Zelda’s except for 4-Swords and Awakening. That’s why they were good.
And Minish Cap and the Oracle of… Games for Game Boy Color/Advanced happen to be my favorite Zelda titles aside from Wind Waker (Fuck the haters. Wind Waker is amazing)
I was like that too with Phantom Hourglass where I took a year hiatus on it before coming back and didn’t know where it was that I needed to go. Come to find out I just needed to give all the materials I had to the swordmaker to make the sword and then beat the game.
I’m probably the only one that liked blowing out candles, pressing a map down onto the bottom screen or playing the flute. Stylus controls for walking around could have been optional but I didn’t have any issues with flute surprisingly after hearing so many complain about it. It was probably way I was holding the DS and stylus.
Judging by the way OoT 3D is played and the way the camera is now going to be placed I don’t think they’ll probably use stylus controls for new future handheld Zelda’s. We probably won’t see a new full handheld zelda for at least 2-3 years depending upon what they’re planning to have Grezzo do from this point on. They could have some small team ironing out details on a new one while Grezzo is working on MM3D. Skyward Sword is pretty much done so they’re either working on ideas for Zelda WiiU or a new handheld Zelda. Then we’re also supposed to be getting some kind of free Four Swords adventure download to commemorate the 25th anniversary which we haven’t seen anything more about since the initial announcement at E3.
I’m hoping they’ll release oracle of seasons and ages on the eshop for download at some point in the future.
They should start putting in a Synopsis for all future Zelda games for these situations. That type of feature really helped when I took a hiatus for Tales of Symphonia and came back stranded in a village wonder wtf I was supposed to do. Even the Metroid Prime series has the next objective on the map, so something like that could also help with Zelda (with the option to turn that off of course for people who just want to figure it out without guides).
Skyward Sword coming November 20: http://gamescom.gamespot.com/story/6329544/zelda-skyward-sword-unsheathed-november-20
I don’t see why not, A Link to the Past had markers for where you wanted to head next.
iunno I like having to discover and shit when the dungeons aren’t marked/numbered.
just some way to remind you a little of what you were doing before you turned off the game several months ago would be good.
The artwork and special edition bundle for Skyward Sword got revealed
Hearing the fact that the first run copies get a copy of the 25th anniversary orchestra on disc is too good for me. There’s no way I’m not getting that.
Edit:
Also some concept artwork got put up

Aonuma Talks Zelda Wii U ideas
GI’s next month cover issue is Skyward Sword
I’m pretty surprised by this considering it’s not a game a year or more off into the future and I can’t think of the last time a Wii game was actually the on the covery of the magazine.
no fishing, no buy

By the way, I heard the game has a Second Quest!
Wow, they showed quite a bit in that short video. Second quest is something I look forward to if it is really in the game. I was never really into the side quests or labyrinth battles of the past two console games. If they actually rearrange some dungeons and locations I will be surprised and impressed. Hopefully it won’t be just a “make enemies stronger, you become weaker, and you have a limited amount of time to complete objectives/dungeons” affair.
I wish Nintendo would get on the fucking ball and give me a fuckin Hard Mode. Zeldas too fucking easy.
Skyward Sword is shaping up to be pretty cool tho so I’m happy, since it’s my last Nintendo Game. I’m not buying a 3DS and I’m not buying a Wii-U. They can keep their toys thank you.
Ha, you say that now but you’ll be back.
They always come back.
