The Legend of Zelda thread - Ganon's bodyshop will be open for business on Nov. 20th

I don’t know if I’m ready to to get my face vaped yet for fuckin up that parry. How tight is the timing on that?

It’s somewhat lenient compared to the shit in DMC or a Fighting game, but it takes practice. The trick is hit A as soon as the beam launches. There’s a slight delay after the countdown beep ends, so don’t lose focus. If it seems to difficult, then just #InvestInAncientArrows from Robbie.

Soooo…I did not know that tumbling down a mountain side actually hurts and will fuckin kill you. Accidentally blew my self up while mining minerals and found out the hard way.

Apparently these guys did too

If I had one complaint with this game… and it’s switch specific is playing on the pro pad then going portable with the joy cons is rough.

In portable mode with the way the layout is I have trouble running and jumping at the same time due to the tiny buttons. I’m sure all it takes is practice and getting used to switching between pro and joy cons but it’s a pain.

I ran into that “strange dream” asshole just now… Then had another motherfucker pop up after I beasted a Guardian, looking like one of the traveling salesmen…

Thought to myself, “Cool, I can reward myself for murking that thing”… NOPE Ninja ambush!

Fuck the Yiga Clan… They can hold this L- Stands for Link, Hero of Hyrule, bitch!

So 30 hours in and…i finally figured out how to use those boats

Anyone know if ancient arrows kill small guardians like they do the big ones?

So far I’ve OHKO’ed all types of guardians with the ancient arrows. Also I finally found the 2nd fairy fountain. I don’t know how many there are but I’m going to guess 3? No idea!

How many deaths has everyone had so far? I’m not as far as some of ya’ll but died 2 times so far. I tend to be careful

The number of times I’ve died has been over 10 thus after then I stopped keeping count. Usually it’s due to either underestimating the intelligence of the A.I. in some form. I’ve been surrounded and clubbed on the head by tough enemies for OHKOs. It’s really interesting watching how the A.I. tries to purposefully avoid bombs if they can and if they’re higher level enemies and there’s 3 or more they will do all they can to swarm and surround you. I’ve also learned to not let Wizzrobes do shit. First time meeting a Fire Wizzrobe I didn’t think they were gonna be able to do anything like the Lightning one’s can but nope…Why is it fuckin Armageddon around here? There’s no volcanos within a 50 mile radius. EVERYTHING IS ON FUCKING FIRE! JESUS CHRIST!

Guys… YOU CAN MOUNT LYNELS.

Also saw the most hilarious shit- a Moblin picked up a Bokoblin ally and threw him at me… lol this game.

So I found the tower near the mad scientist guy. Do I use the ancient arrows to clear the red shit all over it? I just don’t want to waste any that’s why I’m asking.

Also what manner of sorcery is the battery life on the joy cons? I’ve been playing like 12 hours straight.

Only a little over an hour in. Holy crap. I have not seen the Game Over screen pop up this frequently since I played the original Legend of Zelda and Zelda II! I took so many Ls just trying to get a shield and a bow! But I finally got dat new gear!

Scored my ice arrows. What I love is just how creative you can be beating shrines. Puzzle solving and movement feels so organic.

Twice in the beginning area 'cause I fell off a cliff by accident (tried landing on a ledge and missed and of course didn’t have the glider yet), once to a guardian, once on the field somewhere 'cause I was careless, once trying to get a weapon out of the water and getting sniped by a shock arrow, and once to that “Major Test of Strength.”

I wanna say this is after around…30 hours? I can’t check right now.

As long as I’m aware of my surroundings I don’t think it’s that easy to die, especially if you keep plenty of foodstuffs. This game feels like Majora’s Mask level of difficulty; you might get smacked around a bit at first but once you have a basic understanding of how to deal with the situation presented or how the mechanics work, it’s a breeze.

Still really fun though. But as I’m playing I kinda wish that eating food was like in Skyward Sword where it was in real time instead of instant through the pause menu.

I’ve died a ton of times. Mostly due to me not used to the controls yet, also due to me underestimating enemies.

Kind of feels like the first time I played demon souls but not that bad.

I haven’t been keeping count, but if I were to guess, I died more than 10 times, but less than 20 times.

Speaking of deaths, I’m sure some of you noticed, but the “Game Over” text colour changes depending on how you died.

for years I’ve been an OOT fanboy. No other game came close. OOT was my fav game of all time. BOTW makes a strong case to take its spot. But I want to complete it first.

Looks like I’ve stumbled into my first ancient beast quest with the Zoras. This should be interesting.

Edit: Oh look a Lizalfos camp. This should be fun. it’s raining and everyone one of them has shock arrows …Of course you guys would…

Finally went back for that island major test of strength. @LordWilliam1234 was right, before I just panicked at his power instead of learning his pattern. Took awhile and broke a lot of weapons but the loot is more than worth it.

Get to the tower with 3 lighting wizards patrolling the bottom around a lake. The shore is also full of lizard shits so I’m like ok, let me pick them off one by one, then concentrate on the wizards. Take out all the lizards in the water and on the shore then make my way to the wizards patrolling the tower. It starts to rain, ok no biggie I’ll use flame and bomb arrows and drink this lighting elixir no problem… then bloodmoon hits… a massacre ensues…

fuck that tower for now.
