As far as I know the warm doublet can not be upgraded. It’s the only armor I have that doesn’t have an option to upgrade.

Only other way to deal with extreme cold outside of equipment and elixirs is keeping a lit torch with you at all times. Better bring lots of wood and something to light it with…
By the way, Red Chuchu jelly ignites on contact, and makes for a great fire starter. Easy way to get it is to either kill blue Chuchus with fire, or roast their jelly in a fire.

Had to call around to find a copy (last time I don’t pre-order a much hyped game) but Toys ‘R Us had plenty in stock for both the Switch and Wii U versions. They also had all the amiibos in so I gradded Link [Rider], Zelda, and Link [Archer]. These things look soooo freakin’ cool! Zelda’s model for this game is one of my favorites, right up there with her Skyward sword design, maybe even surpassing it.
Got the next three days off so I’m pretty much gonna be eating, sleeping and dreaming about BOTW. WE IN THERE!!! LES GOOOOOO!!!

Took out a Lynel on my first attempt (though this one was using ice arrows rather than shock arrows). He’s actually not that tough once you get into a fight with him, his attacks are really telegraphed and thus easy sidestep/parry bait.

EDIT: This dude drops a bow that lets you fire 3 arrows at once. But it only costs one arrow if you do that. That’s…pretty awesome. I suddenly feel like hunting Lynel’s
I love seeing shit that I didn’t know in the loading screen. It reminds me just how much I haven’t seen yet. Just now I saw there’s hot springs!
I’m probably close to 30 hours in at this point. 3 divine beasts down, and I’m taking my sweet time with it. I’d say this is the best zelda game, but honestly I’m taking a step beyond that saying that this is, to me, one of the best games ever made. Fucking masterpiece.

So like…if you use a fairy as a cooking ingredient. It’ll make the food heal like 15 hearts. Holy fuck considering fairies are very easy to come by once you know where to look.

So has anyone figured out the mechanics to creating elixirs? I already know if you want to raise the effect of something, you have to add more of the item that provides that effect, but what about the effect duration? adding more monster parts?
Man I haven’t even attempted to go find any of the beasts yet. There’s so much to do in this game that my ADD is going into overload. I’m mostly exploring and looking for shrines and towers that I can reach while upgrading my stamina and hearts and now I have memories that I want to look for PLUS I’m trying to remember to take pictures of shit to try and fill out the compendium as much as I can.
On feelings towards this game…I’m probably going to have to go on the sentiment at the moment that I’m pretty sure that this is probably my favorite Zelda game hands down at the moment and that’s with me being nowhere near done with it. I’m pretty sure that by the time I"m through I may even consider this to be my no.1 game for quite a few years. I can’t even imagine the game right now that’s going to shove this game off the throne for me right now.

I haven’t figured it totally out, but it seems the more rare the monster part, the better the elixir. Also, Chuchu jelly seems to make for a good stock ingredient in elixirs.
Still playing around with it to make high level elixirs because I need extra cold protection for my next expedition.
Oh yeah… It takes three perfect parries to fuck up a walking Guardian. Derelict ones only take one. I died many, many times, and lost a shitload of shields, but now I walk without fear of the Sheikah robots and their Luigi Death Glares.
That slow-mo effect is some Bayonetta type shit- You feel like a complete badass once you pull it off.
The thing that I absolutely adore about this game is that every time I play it I learn some literally game changing information regarding how certain things work. At no point does it feel like you’re bound by any sort of video game rules. You’re options are crazy open and there’s still so much left to figure out. I bet even a decade from now people may still be figuring out crazy new stuff.

encounter 1
Comes out of a shrine and after reaching my first memory I go along a path and there’s a lone person looking past me at something. I figure hey maybe he can provide me with some info ya know? maybe perhaps the next memory? So waltz on down to the guy and talk to him.
Dude on road: I was in this area looking out and the only thing I could see was a bright light and it flooded everything and then when I woke up I was in a bed.
Me:…ok…that sounds cool so what was the light? is thinking this could lead to another side quest to investigate
DoR: But when I woke up I wasn’t in my own bed…I was in a room devoid of furniture and was in a bed filled with a blue liquid
Me: …
DoR: Does this sound familiar to you?
Me: uh…
DoR: Does this sound familiar to you HYLIAN HERO!?
Me: oh boy…
Encounter 2
Walks onto a bridge after just finished speaking with Hestu and finding out where this forest was he was going to be and comes across a guy looking out at the water. Already slightly suspicious but goes up to talk to him anyway.
