The League of Legends Thread: Winter is...coming?

Still counts if I do both.

My Unranked elo right now is 1233… up from 1020… Thank god I recovered a little, but now I need to make the distance.

Other nuggets of info:

If you’re going against Talon mid, build some armor. If you’re going against LB, build some MR. Building catalyst, tear of the goddess, or doran’s rings won’t make you better off if you go 0-6 -_-

It is a beautiful day. I FEEL LIKE PLAYING LEBLANC

Health works against those champs, too. On some mages subbing RoA for pure glass cannon build is probably enough against Talon/LeBlanc. I have been known to get Glacial Shroud and Ninja Tabi against Talon and Chalice and Merc Treads against LeBlanc on basically any mid, though, since I really don’t like being individually behind in lane.

I’m just raging because people don’t understand how to play with gank-oriented junglers or don’t know how to play support. I know some people can’t always play what they’re used to, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t ward or anymore, nor should you build dumb shit like AP sona because you got “stuck” with a certain role.

Am I the only one who thinks that simply dodging and taking a 5 ->15 minute penalty is MUCH better than playing a minimum 20 minute game as a role you really really don’t want/can’t play? People are constantly reasoning that they HAVE to play because they don’t want that 5 minute penalty, yet they end up wasting 20+ minutes.

Updated the spreadsheet with spots for character preferences.

What I do with Katarina is trying to build the belt first against a high damage characters (le blanc or talon), since I have the AP runes to cover any other ap item in the while (I can get 50 ap on lvl 6 without any item). Then gank him a lot. You cannot beat easily le blanc or talon on mid unless your character is tanky enough to take him out.

I’m just not in the right mind to do LoL…been trying to dissect the matches and figure out what I can do to improve, but it’s honestly nothing! Murphy’s Law or whatever, I’m just going to stay bitter until redbeard gets on…hint hint nudge nudge.

I’m at work. And I probably cost you more matches than half of your friends list with my stoner shenanigans lol.

Naw man, I’ve learned that I already have a flexible cast of junglers and should narrow them down so I can get good with a few instead of average with plenty.

The last Ranked game I played was a duo and our team lost to an AP Sona Mid and Gravesa/Blitz Bot, we played Varus/Taric but we couldn’t do the damages.

I got 3 shot by Sona Ult, Q and Graves Ult. Q.Q

I’m having the same feeling now, I have a lot of champs for each role and now I wanna start specializing in them.

BALLLIN!!!

Yo ull, 10 10 10 20’s on dem titties bitch

Alistar, Shyvana, Diana. Done. Next problem?

I main Jayce top, and bruiser fizz top(though if the team comp has enoguh range/cc I can run him mage mid also). I own the entire cast and can play most of the non support rolls to an acceptable level. mains for each roll, jayce/fizz top. Galio mid, ryze/kennen also playable. Ezreal bottom(not very good at any other carries). Nautilus jungle. I used to play pretty much every viable jungle but I stopped playing for like 3 months during all the jungle changes and never really got back into it with anyone other than naut.

The problem is more for ganks. If alistar is available, I’ll be all up on his ass…but he gets banned a lot. Been trying to compare Nautilus, Maokai, and Cho’gath.

Naut pros:
-doesn’t need that many items to be efficient
-Ganks are easy as pie
-Has a great initiation and can peel
-Jungle speed is fast after 4

cons:
-slow as dirt clearing until 4
-gets counter jungled easily pre-4
-if I accidentally KS, I can’t really snowball into a death machine

Maokai pros:
-More of a support late game since that R is the main thing, unless I build him as tanky AP.
-Clears swiftly
-Ganks are non skill shot reliant
-Decent peels

cons:
-pathing sucks…a lot. If they successfully invade the blue then it takes FOREVER to clear the camps, almost want to say longer than naut.
-again, KS = yay tankier, but not much carry/snowball potential
-I’d say out of the three, his late game contribution is the worst since the ult drains the mana and people HAVE to be inside if they want that reduction

Cho’gath pros:
-Clears quickly with or without blue
-Sustain is similar to trundle and nunu
-initiation, peel, and nuke
-after 6 can do nunu-like bullshit counterjungling/securing

cons:
-ganks are not definite like naut and maokai…opening with feral scream makes landing the rupture a little easier, but unless I grab them with the scream, they have a lot of time to walk into a safe zone.
-needs items a lot more than the other two. He doesn’t have anything to reduce damage other than feast stacks.
-similar to ganks, his initiation and peeling are all skill shot reliant, so if something misses the target then I am no different than an auto attacking maokai

I’m really trying to figure which of these guys are the best to use, but hot damn do I suck at judging. Cho feels like you need decent people, naut seems like you need snowballers, and I have no idea when Maokai is the best because of the Maokai curse I have.

I also don’t think my shyv jungle is that good. I really like nunu jungle since it can be fun, but by the end of the day he’s a support jungler that’s mainly strong by crippling the enemy jungler (pointless if all lanes are getting their asses kicked). I guess it’s the whole “you don’t know how good someone is until first blood” type of thing. I’m still ranting. Need to find more books/brochures for mba programs -_-

Cho’Gath. You have a legendary skin and you’re really good with Cho. I can’t have you showing me up on Nautilus or Nunu all the time. Maokai seems a lot less useful than the rest.

As far as your Shyv, it’s because you over think things imo. With Shyv you gotta go running into shit full speed like RAWR BITCHES DRAGON TRIPLE KILL. You can afford a little bit more reckless behavior with her because she is pretty good at getting the fuck out when things go south. You are not one who is known for any sort of reckless behavior.

Alright, I’ll be more reckless then let’s see the shit that we get in >:(

THATS WHAT THE FUCK I’M TALKING ABOUT!!! MAN MODE HRRRRGGHHHH!!!

No seriously though. You’re pretty ballsy with Alistar but not so much with Shyv. She’s obviously not as tanky as Ali, but it’s more of a comfort thing. You need more games with her so you know when you’re gonna dive into a death trap or when you’re gonna come raining down hellfire ass beatings on unsuspecting lanes. You’re also better than me at discerning these situations so I got a feeling it’s just “play her more” in your case.
