I’m not sure how I feel about the Hecarim skin. Kind of cool how he’s using an axe and is wearing a coat, but I honestly expected something with the pumpkin head. Elise sounds weird, maybe she’ll be a more damage oriented Maokai?

Yeah, Hecarim looks kind of fat in that coat, it’s weird.
Elise sounds pretty unique, heavy harass, pushing and some initiation on her human form and assassination and AP DPS on her spider form. Sort of like a strange mix between Nidalee and Lee Sin. She can most likely jungle by taking W first - W to ready her passive, transform and then use W again for the attack speed/sustain buff.
So I am right in thinking the Hecarim, Moakai and TF skin will stay around, whereas the actual Harrowing skins (Brand, Ryze, Fiora) are limited time offer right?
If so I don’t feel rushed then.
New TT map and items has me excited, I enjoyed playing 3v3 with UMF despite us losing all the time.

Hi, Hippalus here. For those looking to rage about ward skins being available for rental only, let’s do it on this thread.
The long term plan if the experiment is successful is to have ward skins available for permanent purchase at a reasonable price (similar to regular skins). But, the problem with selling a new type of permanent content without testing it first is that it it doesn’t work for some reason (lack of interest, interferes with gameplay), there is no good way to remove it because it has been permanently sold to players.
My idea was to test ward skins as part of an event, in a way that would make it easier to end the experiment if it doesn’t work, hence ward skins at a reasonable price for a week or two during the Harrowing/Shadow Isles. Is it a perfect experiment? No. Does it hurt players? I don’t think so. Players who are against the concept of rentals should feel free not to participate, but I hope to still gather enough data and feedback to help us decide if ward skins should become a permanent or temporary part of the game going forward.

I’ve just never seen such a lack of confidence in a new product from them before, usually even if it sucks they’ll throw all their support behind it and really hype it up. If the company isn’t fully behind this idea and treating it with the care and attention it needs while promoting the hell out of it then why bother in the first place. Usually if the company unanimously thinks this is great thing to get behind, the people will listen and support/buy the product in question (whether it’s a good idea or not).
As it’s being written and shown it’s like they aren’t sure if this is a good idea, and would rather have people purchase a demo and tell them “Hey, this is kind of cool. I would totally drop more money on the real thing” before really getting serious about making this happen. Also with how Riot has handle stuff in the past (Empty promises on a number of things, for example fixing up older Epic skins) I wouldn’t put my faith and money in this normally.
Just seems weird is all, I think the person who was handling Q&A should have been more of a mouth piece or someone who could not come across as so meek.
It’s 1000 IP for a rental, that’s like. 2 days of playing or something, not a big deal, they look cool.
You get all the different options with 1K or just a particular version? Also can other players see this skin or is it strictly you as a player?
