The last ROM thread...info on how to perform the ROM infinite inside

But you helped. Thanx man. Wait how long of a pause?

heh well it’s hard to say, as i said earlier it’s sorta as long as you can make it with it still comboing, duh. it also varies according to what character you’re doing it on, since they fall at different rates. you’ll get the hang of it after a while.

it’s sorta like when you otg someone then try to do mags b&b into s.rh xx shockwave, you need to put a slight pause so that they’re low enough for s.rh to hit.

I can do it now Amingo. Thanx for all of your help. All I really got to do is practice and master it because some times I miss him by very little or I just do a hp. But THANK YOU for the help:D

…soon as i get my hands on a digicam i’ll try to post a vid with just the rom on diff characters and diff types of reps… but problem is… who will host me???

I can do hosting depending on size and how much bandwidth were talking about - I’m allowed 65 gigabits a month not byte so thats equivalent to roughly 8 gigs.

I’ve been poracticing and I have yet to figure out what I was doing wrong - but I can do one iteration - still can’t really call it a infinite yet. Here is my question on the re-jump - do you want to hit the rising lk lk *slowly[/] or as quick as possible?
-:bluu:

Quickly as possible on rejump after the two kicks connect, [pause for a moment and dash d/f (hold d/f) lk], pause (for as long as possible b4 it won’t combo) lk. Super jump and repeat.

The part in brackets [] is probably the hardest part in the ROM that everyone messes up on  Just keep practicing and you’ll eventually get it.

btw… which method for the airdash d/f to lk r u using? Claw, slide, or both?

Neither - I’ve done so much on the pad that I just press both punches with my thumb then press lk lk - I can do it fast enough - that isn’t the problem - I just wasn’t sure on timing - and I need to up my consistency - I have more problems “jumping” then with the addf lk - I did some experimenting and figured out my jump problem - to super jump I “Believe” you have to start the crouch frames - but I was trying to super jump by the time I hit the ground - and the engine will ignore the “down” input - so I’d just do a normal jump - so I just have to ‘slow down’ like Ypei told me…
-:bluu:

yur d-pad maybe the problem with the sj… ever tried switching to a stick? …then again i’ve done the infinite on a pad b4… it was hard as fuck tho, but i guess it’s just me :frowning:

I kno this isnt necissary but the way I do the infinite is:

C.HP sj.HK ddt(dash down towards) lk, lp (while in the air) (the low punch brings him down more insead of lk again) sj.lk (pause) ddt lk, lk sj lk (pause)
ddt lk, lk…

so it goes: c.HP , sj.Hk, ddt, lk, lp (land) sj.lk , ddt lk, lk (land) repeat.

notice how I only do the lk once when I superjump. its easier to keep them in the same height and is more easier on small characters.

fpr me anyways.

ps I didnt read the other threads so if som1 else menioned it… my bad.

I kinda HATE sticks. I’m building my fourth and fifth now - but in reality - thats purely for the buttons. I’ve never felt “in control” on a stick. My characters no matter what kind of stick or where I’m playing - just don’t do what I want when I want as consistently as on a pad - I’m just better with one. The only time the stick has been better for me was doing supers with a somersault motion - but everythign else I do better on a pad - even fireballs. Again - I figured out my jumping problem I just have to practice crouching and then super jumping “quickly” - otherwise I’m just too fast or too slow.
-:bluu:

Question. During the infinite when you do it to sent., how do you do that slow motion magic shit?

My best advice for learning ROM is simple (although it might not help alot since many have probably mentioned it, but i will give my advice anyways) Here it goes, [c.hp /\ sj.hk addf. lk lk…] now that you have launched and dashed down forward, the key for the pause between the lk’s are quiet simple, look and STARE at the character you are doing the ROM on, you should be able to anticipate enough when to hit the next lk so the height of the character is just right. (i know thats kind of wierd but that really helped me when i practiced it.) many players that have done ROM so much don’t really notice anymore when they pause, since it’s already natural to them. when you get the proper height of the character and the ground adding the next part [ sj. lk lk ] shouldnt be hard to connect or shouldn’t be hard to perform at all.

i hope that helps but just keep playing and playing to get the timing down. i know many people say that ROM doesn’t really need alot of timing (which it doesnt) but having your own style of doing it can make you very consistent and better at it.

thats my 2 cents. :stuck_out_tongue:

Slow motion? What do u mean by that?

There are two ways i do the ROM to sentinel… sj lk,lp,lk pause ad d/f~lk, pause lk and repeat or… i do sj lk,lk ad d/f lk,lk without any pauses because sent falls to the ground like a ton or bricks

btw… the latter ROM variation on sentinel is the easiest ROM to do IMO because there are no timing pauses. Just do it as fast as u can… this is how i first started to do the ROM and learned off it until i got used to the basic feel of it in order to vary it to smaller characters.

But in a match i usually don’t set sentinel up for a ROM infinite, unless his ass was in the air in the first place (which that bastard is most of the time) but rather do that little rushdown inifinite to him… i don’t really want to elaborate on how it’s done (if u don’t already know) b/c there are a lot of variations u could do. It’s just basically a rushdown that combos and doesn’t stop, for those who don’t know.

actually there are more than 2 variations on sent…the magic series thing he was talkin bout is sj lp, lk, lp, lk ad df lk lk…dont do it too slow…juss space out the last two lk’s…u can infinite that sent offa anything…that fucker is too fat lol if u find he is topo low just add more attacks to the ROM and he’ll go higher

I never said that there were not more than two variations that can be done to sentinel… what i said is that’s what i do… becuase frankly i’m lazy and don’t want to do anything else.

ohh sorry i read ya post wrong:lame:

a quick comment…

shouldn’t claw motion be easier, especially for people that play various games besides mvc2?

If you can kara throw in 3s you can claw
If you can roll cancel in CvS2 you can claw.

it’s just a thought.

it’s all good

iight coo man…anyways time for me to get owned up in FR7…ohh how i love the good competition:D

thx 2 all men…
