The last ROM thread...info on how to perform the ROM infinite inside

[quote=“Veikuri, post:640, topic:4225”]

Why would the ROM be harder and everything else not change?

Well my friend told me that the arcade version is slower then xbox/ps3.
When i play on the arcade everything seems slower and easier but like the rom and unfly/fly combos seem like you have to be much faster.

Rom hands video

This video may be of help to people:

There will be more videos in this series. If anyone has any specific Rom mechanics they would like to see included, then let me know.

yeah i cant get that addf lk out that fast, youre doing it so fast you dont even see the airdash.

Idk, I haven’t noticed anything different on the arcade ver in terms of speed, but then again my execution sucks on happ comp sticks.

Input them at the same time and delay the 2nd lk. Eventually you’ll be able to do it flawlessly.

that’s exactly the point…

Is there any reason to do Magnetos other infinite Vs Sentinal? I usually stick to the normal lk lk addf lk lk or do lk lk addf magic series then back into the ROM to raise them. I can do the normal jump infinite, but not as good as his reg.

Also any help with doing an infinite into hypergrav tempest/doing two hyper grav tempest in one combo?

yeah, >_< that post came out stupider than i intended. thats def the point, i need to get faster with it. i was relying too much on visual cues on the screen and by the time i see the airdash its too late. gotta…get…FASTER!

it’s not even about speed…

have you ever played tekken? you know those certain moves that required a button to be pressed and the other to be pressed nearly at the same time, but a fraction later. they were notated like RK~LK IIRC. that’s pretty much the timing for that add, lk part

you practically press all 3 buttons at the same time, but you don’t. the LK happens right after. this is accomplished by sliding or clawing. if you slide correctly this accomplishes that part naturally

hmm…to training room i go

You need to go up with one lk, after 6 hits of the ROM buddy. You’re problem is that they’re going to high up.

When doing the ROM st up

cr.lk cr.hp sj.hk addf lk, lk

Should those two low kicks be delayed like:

lk,lk

I am asking this because by after those two lks the opponent is really high so i only get like 3 or 2 reps off before he is Way Too high

Okay so I decided to switch over to Magneto, I learned all there is to learn with Venom and want to learn a more advanced character. So Iv’e been trying to do the ROM infinite and all I can get is Launch, hk ddf, lk lk, sj lk lk but when I try to ddf lk lk I can’t combo it. I think I might be doing it too slow or that im dashing down too quickly? I’m not using my thumb for the light kicks so can anybody tell me if this possible to do on a regular basis without using your thumb for the lightkicks? or am I not doing it fast enough for ddf lk lk?

Lol, everybody has that question when learning rom, ROM goes like this: Launch, sj.Hk, addf, lk, mk, (SJ lk mk, slight pause, ADDF lk slight pause mk) repeat, so well, 4 the “ADDF lk mk” u must input addf and the next lk almost the same time, check this vid, credits for it goes to bretth123, I am just sharing.

Check how addf and lk even look like they r only one input, I’m sure u will ROM after watching this and taking a little practice… so remember that ROM sounds like tap tap… tap… tap, the third tap is “addf xx lk”, hope it helps.

I don’t use my thumb though, do you have to use your thumb to execute it better?

Well it depends on the way that u feel more comfortable, u can use the “slide method”, input dash and fast slide ur index finger (which is on lp button when u input dash) to the low kick, I don’t feel comfortable with this method, but trying this way may will help u

Is the key to do this close to the ground? And you don’t want the body your juggling to be too high up in the air? I’m assuming you can do the ROM so that’s why I ask.

Lol?? Of course I can do the ROM, its a low-intermediate infinite, not so hard once u get that the key to make it work is to input the lk right immediately after the addf. About ur question, u can do it at normal jump height and even a little higher in mid-sized chars, for the heavy chars (sentinel, jug, blackheart) u can do it at super jump height.

how much of a difference does the height you ROM at make on the ps3 version?

There is no difference, it works exactly the same way, and in the same height, if u wanna do different resets or land some thing else like super jump infinite reps, cross ups or etc, u can get ur enemy into lower height by doing just one hit when going up and longer pauses between kicks after addf (this could be useful).

The next is old stuff but after learning ROM timing u can just: c.HP, sj.lp, slight pause, add lk, slight pause, add.lp and it will connect, and they will be in the right height for keep the ROM going, useful if u already made 2 hits in a tri-jump. Not sure if this answers ur question, just hope this could be useful for anyone.

I was watching vids and I see alot of players doing ROM at normal jump height (on DC), but on PS3 when I go for the addf lk, its missing the dummy low
