ok after psy hits and u do down lk, hk, i see 3 variations

sj lk, lk, addf lk, lk

sj lk, addf lk, lk

sj addf lk, lk

i wanted to know whats the reason for the different combos. also if psy hits assist and point character and i did down lk, hk to rom so the snap out which one is better to keep them close to the ground? i have trouble connecting the 3 option i mentioned, is it something i should learn?

the different combos are reserved for different heights or weights of characters. after your c.hk x sj. , you would want to use 2 lk for a heavy character like sentinel or blackheart to keep them in the air. you would want to use only one lk for medium sized or smaller characters. idk about only using the addf lk lk, i think that would be used for flashiness, but that’s just me.

as for your snapout strategy, i wouldn’t suggest relying on psylocke assist c.lk, c.hk as the c.hk may not hit both characters, and you won’t get the snapout on them. but (to answer your question) if it does hit the assist and point character, i suggest using sj lk, addf lk, lk to get them closer to the ground, as the sj lk lk addf lk lk will get them higher than you want them to be.

I do everything right exept the pause betwen the 2 kicks

I sj. lk sj.lk (pause) airdashdown lk and the i do a short pause the next lk i do comes out as a lk instead of a middle kick

also after every rep the guy gets higher (sometimes) funny thing is that this actually works untill they get too high

What are some ways to set up int mag rom? other than c.lk c.hp sj.hk addf to rom,
or c.lk, psy c.lk psy hits c.lk c.hk sj to rom

Have u tried to do launch, sj.lp, slight pause addf lk mk, repeat? This a useful set up… when your enemies go very high u have just to do one hit after the sj, then do normal rom reps, believe me it works. May be u want some set ups with assist, what team do u play???

punch grab in sj, kick grab in sj, or tempest in sj in the corner into ROM on the way down
c. lk psy c. lk ROM as they fall (does terrible damage, good if it’s going to kill them anyway, they have an assist out that will mess up your OTG c. lk c. hk sjc, or you caught an assist and want to set up for a double snap)
c. lk c. hp sjc hp addf ROM (pointless variation)

Alright so since I’m poor, I don’t have a pad. I’ve been playing magneto for almost a year now, off and on. I started with clops, then IM, then sentinel and cable. The long and short of it is, I can get an ROM combo to land all the way to dizzying via standard wired controller, it is possible, although I do suggest getting a pad. My strong suggestion is to swap your assist one and two buttons so the last character is lb, to claw with the index and middle finger on AXYB, and to set the left trigger to light kick as well as A. When you AD.DF after the SJ. HK, then just do you’re simple sj. lk’s with left trigger, as it will make spacing easy since it’s not easy to push too fast. Then sj and hit with both sj. lk’s via the A button. After a slight pause, oh so slight, AD. Df and use the left trigger to create proper spacing again for the 2nd repetition of light kicks. Wash, rinse, repeat. Hope that helps to all you hopeful controller kids! :wgrin:

Finally played the ps3/xbox version.Is the Magneto rom different in these Versions?
Cause i tryed it and it seems like the Down airdash lk,lk part is diffrent.

i am unable to continue this combo after 7 hits…i get dash>cr.lk>cr.hp>sj.hk>addflk>lk>sjlk>lk. then when i go to addflk again, the dummy has reset and is able to block. i seem to be simply unable to get the addf fast enough =\

Use your thumb to press the j.lk after the addf. It’s similar to the timing of plinking in ssf4 if that helps (helped me). You literally press lk right after the 2ps for the addf.

edit: just reread your post, maybe the dummy is too close to the ground? IDK the max i have done is like 20 hits, i just started really getting it yesterday, but my most success has been when the dummy is slightly higher than magneto’s head if he was standing on the ground. Try doing it on sentinel too to practice cause he is the easiest to do it on.

idk what plinking is. i press addf and just a split second press the lk but its still not fast enough. but yet i put turbo on and was able to do it, but i then turned it off cause i dont want help to be able to do it.

You’re not pressing it fast enough then. You kind of have to press LP HP + LK at the same time, but the lk is iput immediately after the dash. the 2nd lk can be delayed a lot longer tho. .
