prepare for neg rep lol
idk dude… to me it’s best to rom to corner and reset once if a must and kill off for guard break on next matchup. if you can’t get them to the corner and you think they are gonna spin out, start rom without an OTG and finish midscreen with a 1 light and 3 feirce ender. (crlk, fp, fk, cr fk) if you hear fuckers mashing reset rom the quickest way you can by dashing under by lk lk on the way up and a dash under crossup lk lk. there are numorous ways to beat a masher but it’s a prefrence of the player really. don’t forget hk into shockwave is an option, guaranteed damage and an okay wake up situation against certain matchups.
with solo mag you wanna get good at hit confirming triangle crlk lk. do it once, they block, whiff standing jab to trap down or bait a push block attempt, triangle crlk, triangle crlk lk. just mix it up… the key is to land triangle cr lk lk, dash cr lk, launch… (lp or crhp launch either will get the job done.)
of course i’m playin with msp, so you gotta understand that mentallity. kill assist, or if the team is strong with no crutch… snap in an assist that needs meter to control the situation. possible snapout a char to make their assist have all anti air or none, and rush ground or air more effectivly.
lol… you’ll know what i’m talking about when you get it. it would be really easy if you knew someone who knew how to do it. now that i can do it i hardly ever do rom for hits. if its the last character or the point character gets caught by mags then i might. but other than that i’m all about Reset till Death and mind games. keep it up man.
what was that guy talking about doing when you jump in with two lk’s? why not do V c.lk s.mp rom. or tri jump again to the front or the back reset to ROM? Still i must try what he’s talking about just to see if i can do it.
I just have one question.
If I’m doing the ROM infinite on Sentinel while he’s just on the ground, does that mean I have it correct for airborn opponents, or is it just easier on a grounded Sent?
This is my second day of having my own MVC2 at home, and I think I’m getting Mag stuff down relatively quick.
well you have the infinite on sentinel on the ground. that is a feat in itself. so you have the tools to do it on an opponent in the air. but it doesn’t mean you have the timing. if you need help with the solo setup or anything else just let me know. tho you can search the forums and find most of that stuff on page one of this thread.
Well I’m having the same problem someone else here had, I can set it up fine, and this is usually how far I get:
cr.lk, cr.hp, sj.hk, addf lk, addf lk, sj lk, sj lk,
and then when I try to addf again, I cross over to the other side and that screws me up. so far i’ve only managed to do the actual airborn combo correctly on sent, because he’s so damn big. but for the other characters, i’ve been practicing on cable.
im guessing its just a timing thing, because the physical execution of this is a walk in the park for me.
personally when i setup i dont do sj.hk I use sj.hp… to me it feels as tho they are put in a better spot than wif sj.hk…
like i said before you have the tools. now you just need to practice. doing the addf lk wait lk part of the ROM actually requires some patience. if you do it too early then you will whiff and miss them completely. if you do it too late then they can block. the sentinel ground ROM is too fast of a speed to do on an air opponent. so i would tell you to slow down. its a rhythym. after the sj lk lk… wait until mags foot goes above cables head until it gets to his knee. then addf lk wait lk… repeat. and also… sloooowwww it down.
RH or FP doesn’t really matter for solo infinite set ups. With 5 fierce i prefer FP over RH because of positioning and angle. so keep it up and get that ROM.
Alright, thanks.
I personally prefer the HK set up because it just feels more natural to me and it’s what i’ve been using the whole time anyway.
Got down ROM. Did roughly 20 hits on cable and 30+ on sent, thanks for the advice man.
Claw FTW.
Edit: I recognized the problem I had before. After the sj.lk sj.lk, the first addf.lk has to be done almost together, hence the reason for claw or slide methods. For the sent ground version I was doing each input separately, and when I tried that on airborn characters, I would just cross them up.
um, why don’t you try the easy variant < c.lk, c.hp, sj.hk addf.lk+mk land sjforward.lk+mk [delay] airdash straightdown lk [delay] lk, [repeat]> imo, that’s the variation that gives you more leeway for timing.
can’t do ROM - need solutions?? --> programmable pad.
That sounds like a good idea, I’ll give it a shot later.
im sorry but can anybody break this down on a playstation in d pad and button form? im having a lot of trouble pm me or hit me back it would be greatly appreciated thank you
that doesn’t say much. what part are you having problems with? do you have a stick or pad? can you do basic things already like 5 fierce and launch RH addf lk lk? give us something to work with
Fanatiq? lolz
The inputs are still the same… you just need a macro for dash, R1 = LP+HP. After that it should just be: Square = LP, Triangle = HP, X = LK, Circle = HK. Just look through the thread for combos and draw you own from that.
I have some dificulty to do ROM in PS2 version of MvC2… is this normal? I think PS2 has more lag than DC…
I used to have DC, but it Crash… and I cant find other to buy
DC = ebay
Yeah the Ps2 version just seems to have straight up different timing on some things.
IM inf = Faster
Rom = Slower
WTF is up with that.
unfortunatelly MvC2 for PS2 is horrible, impossible to do anything right in the “Factory Stage”, too much slowdowns…
Having problems doing the rom. The most i can get is 23 hits.I don’t have a problem keeping them up in the air if they get too low,but if they get too high i don’t know how to get them lower without resetting the rom.Help.
