I just started playing this game. Wow, the graphics immediately stood out. Looks phenomenal! The environments are varied and are nicely done. Gameplay is very strategic compared to uncharted. I like the crafting aspect. Depending on what you craft, life can be really easy or really hard. The storyline is also very gripping. I want to see how it all plays out till the end. Naughty dog has done a great job on a 7 yr old console.
I finished the game last night on normal mode. Awesome experience from gameplay and storywise, one of the best games Ive played. However, it didnt feel satisfying for me the fact that I felt normal mode was a bit too easy. Not once did i feel any particular section of the game was too difficult cuz i had enough ammo and supply to power my way through if stealth wasnt working (Solo Ellie section section was badass for obvious reason).
Im going straight into Survivor mode now on a new game. What are some differences between the two mode? Are supplies more scarce, like supplies that were located in normal are not there anymore in Survivor? Any tips?
Off the top of my head:
No listen mode, no in-game tips (aka mash square when they bound to kill you), less stuff overall (especially ammo), you die much faster… while they still die like normal lol.
I personally haven’t tried survivor mode, hell I’m not even done with normal… but this game is too good.

I just started playing the multiplayer, whats a good gun to use? I play survivor and I’m seeing that I run out of bullets fast.
Do you guys run custom setups?
Semi auto rifle is king.
Hunter bow is second
everything else is negligible. Learn how to sit still, and let the dumbasses waltz right past you.
I find custom setups to be good, but you’d be getting your ass kicked if you didn’t pack something badass, which they don’t really ever start you off with lol.
Flash of Envy
Remember to do an ‘ammo upgrade’ when you have enough parts. I also use the silenced semi-auto rifle. I think the upgrade gives you a full capacity of 12 shots. I use the default revolver as secondary. I found the Shorty strong, but the slow reload speed made me lose most heads up shoot outs. haven’t used the 9mm. Revolver drops in 2-3 shots most of the time, so I didn’t think the faster rate of fire was beneficial.
You’ll eventually want to run a custom set up. The default categories are just for trying out the higher lvl weapons and boosters. I have lvl 2 (3?) reviver and lvl 2 healer right now. It makes getting XP easier and its pretty useful for teammates who get shot up. It’s probably really good for Survivor mode. The weekly mission to get X number of heals is also really easy to do.
Yeah it’s tied between that and the shiv misson
Can’t wait to play this game. Had to download the digital copy since I couldn’t get a hard copy elsewhere. Dat new hotness! Is there a difference in endings between difficulties? I don’t got too much time to play but I keep hearing so many good things about this game so I wish to enjoy the story. Only thing is if easy mode screws my ending i will be pissed! >_<
Somebody get that MGO crew back together and I’ll join in. I’m running stealth sets with the hunting bow and ranged weapons. I do a great job at marking people once I pay for El Diablo.
I would also like to add that smoke bombs allowing you stealth kill in any direction is AMAAAZING!
Assuming you are talking about multiplayer:
No, they’re not amazing enough considering, you’d have to be packing bomb expert to immobilize a mob, and you’d have to be damn near next to their face to kill them fast enough for the rest of the players not to be able to respond quickly enough to kill you.
frontal shivs take far to long to complete and with nothing to cancel the animation is not really worth the risk.
Yeah I’d say Semi-Auto is probably the most balanced long gun. Burst Rifle is pretty good but you run out ammo pretty quickly so it’s hard to manage if you don’t die often. I personally use the Hunting Rifle and Burst Rifle most of the time.
As far as custom set ups go, I run one overall class and swap between long guns and silencers.

Covert Training 2: Lets me crouch walk with impunity, and helps with flanking or sneaking up on people.

Saved Joel’s ass a ton but I like Ellie a lot more, she wants to help Joel as much as she can and she expresses herself pretty well.
All the characters suck to be honest.
