on CH, you get this combo, db 12, fb21, B! (df+3,3)_(db+2~f 1)
But don’t bother trying on Ling unless it’s near a wall, and don’t bother doing it with Kuma at all. Post-B! DE1~SE1 is already iffy against them.
(I’ve got pretty much a 100% success rate with iSW now on normal sized to big characters, and the timing for iSW on Ling is practically JF timing).
@Zeon: db21 not db12 mate. :tup:
IIRC, You can also tack on a db2, e.g. CH db1+2, db2, db21, fb21 B! I don’t use db1+2 much (no particular reason), but I’m sure this works because the crumple is exactly the same as f1+2.
I tend to drop my combo if I try to tack on another d/b2, so I’ll stick with db21, fb21, whatever… Thanks guys.
So what can I do for oki with Lars?
Say I land something into db21, fb21, SE2, but stop there, in order to try to be close as they’re getting up. I’ve seen dash up db21 which seems to catch backrollers, and I’ve gotten ff3+4 for people who just chill on the ground. What other choices might be good? df1+2? DE, cancel, DE2 or maybe ff4, 3 (is that the low-mid kicks?)
@XL: Meh you knew what I was getting at.
Doing the iSW is iffy, I see lars do the animation, but he doesn’t catch them sometimes, I wonder if I’m doing it too slow.
Mechanica: You can actually do uf+3 and start a whole combo from that, and Lars has a semi infinite. Uf+3, the only way out is to quick side roll…it’s fun to use on people who don’t know what the hell to do. U/f+3 beats everything you can do on wake up, period, unless you quick sideroll.
uf3 is a hilarious spam when people don’t know how to get up.
the ff+2 combo will miss dragonov.
ff+2~f, SE3, d/b12, fb 2,1 the 21 will miss him unless you are slighly off axis.
Really? How odd. Must be a different hitbox for him.
Btw, if anyone’s having issues with iSW - the more hits you do before the iSW, the tighter your execution needs to be, e.g.
uf4, f123 DE1 fb21 B! iSW (7 hits before iSW) is stricter than ff2 SE3 db21 fb21 B! iSW (6 hits before iSW).
I also think that with Kuma, you need to do 1 less hit than normal for it to work, but I’m not sure. All I’m sure of is that I have NEVER iSW’ed him with the same combos as regular characters. Ever.
Oh, and if it helps, hold the 2 after you do fb21 B!, so that when you do iSW, you only need to press f+4 (since you’re already holding down 2). The window for error is much smaller.
XL, yeah, I seriously missed that…multiple times. When my execution on that is usually 100%. I think it’s the fact that Drag is stepping side to side. Cause I miss that on Lei sometimes. You need a slight, slight SLIGHT sidestep to hit himw ith it.
Maybe a slight SS before the db21 might fix it? e.g. ff2 SE3 SS~db21 etc. I do think there’s enough time for it (you can do ff2 SE3, 2, db21, fb21 B! after all).
For those who did not know, holding back while doing Lars’ 1+2, will cause him to stop the second hit and return to neutral.
Yo, I’m having a bit of difficulty with this juggle:
u/f+4, f+1,2,3~d DE1, fb+2,1 B!
I’m not sure what I am doing wrong, but the fb+2,1 always whiffs. If I try to do the juggle to fast, somewhere in the f+1,2,3, something whiffs.
Oh, and if I do get it down, what would be the best post B! ender? I cannot do iSW at all, so whats the next best option?
You just need to time it better, er, just because you can’t iSW doesn’t mean you can’t finish it, db+2,se 1 would be the best, but beware, it pushes them waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay the fuck away.
You could do either of the following:
-Another fb21 or ws21 for oki
-Dash ff4,3 won’t push them far away compared to db2,SE1. If it’s a wall stage you might be able to dash up for the staple df1, db21, f+1+4 wall combo if you’re fast enough. Sometimes you might have to forget about the df1 and do the other three moves instead.
-b+1+2 for coolness factor.
-df3,3, DE cancels to get closer followed by your own mixups
-I haven’t tried this yet since the thought JUST occured to me, but the first four hits of his 10-hit maybe (uf1211) which is high and three mids?
Post-B!, DE1~SE1 is stronger than db2~SE1, but DE1 doesn’t hit if the B! move is WS21, so you’ll need to switch to dash df1, dash db2~SE1.
Hold on now, couldn’t he just do se 3? And then play some really big oki with DE 1+2(which would relaunch them again) or possibly go for a relaunch with ff+2
I say we all do a quick write up of Lars to see where we all stand with him, then we can assess where we are and try to improve.
Yo just getting Lars down, i can do 6 of his 7 sample combos. I beat somebody then did and ending taught of
Lars on the phone saying the guy was injured we need a medic. How do i do this win pose? I tried both kicks and i tried both punches i cant get it to save my life.
I need to be able to do that in pose on command.
I think it’s 3+4?
post-B!:
DE1~SE1- for non wall damage
DE1~SE3-for non wall oki
DE12-for long wall carry (follow up with DE1+2 df1 db1+2 f1+4)
uf3-for mid long carry
dash df1 for close wall carry (anyone got tips on dash df1 dash db21 W! ?)
db23 mid-long wal caryy
only some of the options he got
Why is Lars so underplayed on xboxlive? Seriously I’m a Vaquisher rank with him and the next highest is a Warrior. I almost never come up against another Lars. Everyone either seems to be playing Kazuya, Bryan, Lili, Law, Asuka or Alisa.
Lars, JF DEN 1:2 (f3~1:2)
