Man. That’s too good Solless.
It’s not without some flaws. [S]If you perform that ‘chase crossup’ too early it whiffs and can leave you open to punish in the ai[/S]r. I have realize that timing is crucial with this tech. You need to do the MK Silent Entry after Storm Axle as fast as you can. Then hold backwards jump and then do the j.mk really late so you can be safe. If you wait too long you will be to high and can be open game for AAs.
I have not tested this tech with LK Silent Entry or HK Silent Entry, so further sheninagens ARE probably there.
EX Lightning Screw, Storm Axle, (wait half second) LK Adon Kick is completely safe against Ryu’s DP. Same for the Adon Kick Feint
With this one though. Any idea if (wait half a second) can be replaced with cr.lp/lk/whiffed grab/anything? I’m gonna check now but if you know already it’ll save me the trouble.
Edit: Yeah. Cr.lk seems to work just fine. Unless I mistimed it. Looks pretty solid though.
I think I did try whiffing cr. LP and it didn’t work as well but I can’t quite remember. There might be a way to use a move though, but I literally just waited half a second. It’s like land from storm axle, pause short moment, LK Adon Kick, that’s how I did it. If you’re able to find something to put in place of it I’d be really thankful.
Thinking on it, maybe walking just half a step back or forward might also work. It’s like in that time frame.
Yeaaaah. Think I was just messing up. Tried recording again and this time I was too fast to meaty.
Okay, seeing Desk actually combo Lightning Screw off of Mjolnir follow up is flat out awesome.
Edit: Okay, I see where you’re going with that Terios, and this is my fault for not clarifying. I wasn’t using that tech as a meaty option. I was using it as a bait for a reversal, as when I did it the kick would whiff and Lars would land already past his recovery frames.
For everyone who thought my tech was about it being a meaty option, I am very sorry for the confusion. It’s more of a bait, but some messing around might turn it into a meaty option, I do not know.
I know double posting is bad but I will clarify my earlier one
EX Lightning Screw, Storm Axle creates hard knockdown, though the timing is slightly rough.
EX Lightning Screw, Storm Axle, (wait half second(cr. LK or LP) LK Adon Kick is completely safe against Ryu’s DP. Same for the Adon Kick Feint <- Bait tech
EX Lightning Screw, Storm Axle, (wait half second) MK Adon Kick feint will completely fly over the opponent and leave you safe.<-Bait tech. Can also jump over the opponent again to get away from most reversals (Though I know spinning lariat will beat this one, so don’t tempt that on Gief)
EX Lightning Screw, Storm Axle, (wait half second) LK Silent Entry, Jump, crossup j. MK is sorta safe against DPs. <-Another bait. LK Silent Entry will whiff the crossup attack and this can lead to option selects (what those are I have no idea). MK Silent Entry will ensure the crossup hits, but it seems to be unsafe against opponents who reversal on wakeup. HK Silent Entry seems odd, as Ryu’s LP/HP DPs will trade, but his MP/EX will hit clean. Fast vertical AA specials like Lars’ Lightning Screw will beat it out.
EX Lightning Screw, Storm Axle, Silent Entry, Back Jump, j.MK will catch rollers in a super ambiguous crossup situation. If they keep holding the direction they rolled in they’ll block the crossup if you use MK Silent Entry. Holding Up after the crossup will let you avoid any non anti air grapple moves, so that’s a nice thing to note against Zangief, and even Marduk’s suplex completely whiffs. If you use LK Silent Entry the j. mk will hit in front of the rolling character. If you use HK you can make an extremely low crossup hit. **<- Vortex/ambiguous catch tech…maybe? Not sure how to call this one. **
Edit: Okay, I sorta give up at the moment ^^;. Every time I think I find something right or useful further testing shows holes in either execution or something.
I hand the reigns of this over to someone who can test this a lot more efficiently than I can ^^; puts on the dunce cap.
No dunce cap. Thats good stuff. In that case cr.Lk totally works and cr,lp actually sends you safely over reversal srk in case you don’t wanna take chip.
Has anyone found any good anti air normals?
Isn’t close standing MP and crouching Hp decent ?

Far MP is the anti air, legit too. It has many active frames and doesn’t trade or get stuffed often.
I haven’t had success with cr.hp as anti air.
I’m wondering if against shallow jump ins Lars’ best option is to Silent Entry forward to get away from cross ups or Guy and his evil elbow/grab of doom. That being said I am not sure how well it does against Hugo body splashes.
That simply happens because Ryu only has 2f of invincibility on his LP/HP DPs.
Lars seems pretty interesting is all I can say for now . I’m gonna study him more extensively later on.
I actually do this a lot, similar to when I played Rose in SF4 to slide under shallow jump ins if I couldn’t get the c.hp/ex soul throw off. Against Hugo, I’ve just tried my luck with a DP lol
Damn Lars and his combos. There’s really easy ones at the low end but the more u try to squeeze in the damage the harder they get. Seems like so many 1 frames…
Or is it just me???
I started on the frame data research for Lars. It’s a trial and error thing, so most likely there will be some errors (I almost got one error today because I believed Brady Guide in that Ken’s cr.LP is -1 on block, +3 on hit. In fact it was 0 on block, +4 on hit). I’ll continue tmrw, but help would be much appreciated. It’s very far from being done.
He’s really fun; I’m trying to decide between him and Xiaoyu as a partner for Lei atm.

Damn Lars has a ton of plus frames. He does feel like a street fighter character like some have said. I want to play him like Yang, but no dive kick lol. And faking ppl out with the jaguar kick(avalanche stomp) is so fun.

random shenanigans:
if you do cr.mp, st.lp - cr.mp cancel into QCB+KK I think it crosses them up. the kick will connect and you’ll end up on the other side. works in the corner to, standing or crouching… didn’t test on all characters but at least it works on lei lol… if substitute the 3rd hit for cr.hp it will hit in the front
I also found a cross up set up for quick standers:
do QCF+P, D+P, cr.hp into QCF+LK… OR… QCF+K,K, cr.mp, cr,mp, cr.mk into QCF+LK… then jump foward with mk…
His start-up frames are average to bad but his frame trap potential is crazy if he gets in.
Also Lars is fei long with better normals but worse rekkas, Im shocked you guy dont see the playstyle similarities.
