Yeah, much better off just using reset > demon flip if you’re going to reset. This is ridiculous because you have a guy in the corner, why not finish that BnB with a sweep and set up the wake up games using all that ex to lock the guy down. I’d never throw away an opportunity to lock a player down in the corner with Akuma. If you want comeback potential just go with a regular reset.
THAT being said, to the guy who asked what you should start with if you cross up. I think it’d be best to go with an anti throw string seeing how people will probably either throw or spam DP in that situation. Especially if the other guy has 2 bars of EX to cancel said uppercut. Risk/reward is so much worse here than with regular reset, just throwing away 2 bars on an LP while putting yourself in the corner.
I don’t think its the best option for a rest either, the timing has to be impeccable and its just o much of a waste of meter. anyway i added edited the old video and added the rest of the cast that i could get it to work on. by the way C viper is just STUPID hard to get this to work on. i could not get it to work on Seth.
I do agree that effectiveness vs flashiness is still in question here, (someone wanna ask Edma or Tokido? lol) however I think this might work well against Dictator and in the mirror match, as both Dic and another Akuma have teleport defenses against the vortex, where this may have a better chance of catching them of guard.
This is old news. Furthermore, it’s very risky and wastes meter. Resets are usually a bad idea with Akuma, especially resets that cost two bars, sacrifice a significant amount of damage, and risk the possibility of being reversal’d for 50% damage or more.
I don’t go for resets period unless it’s after a scaled stun and I think my opponent might be dozing off a bit.
Perhaps this idea about having such a reverence for Akuma’s EX meter is just somewhat alien to me since for the last 10 years Akuma didn’t have EX meter?
EX can be used for FADC combos, Super, for EX air fireball which can be used to shut down opponents especially in the corner, EX hurricane in a combo at a corner which can be followed by shoryuken for more damage, EX Demonflip to combo someone throwing a fireball etc… and it seems like a waste of meter to try a risky reset which can be punished.
No offense, but maybe you should play the game a bit before attempting to add stuff to the Akuma database that has been accumulating since SF4 was released. That way you would understand things like why Akuma’s ex meter is vital.
This reset is more of an accident rather than an intentional reset. Every once in a while I go to use the LP.SRK > FADC in a combo and accidentally Jab > FADC. It is funny when it happens it sometimes works, but generally it is a waste of meter.
i knew id seen this b4 and never thought much of it because of the reasons mentioned although it would look cool to fit into a match, lets face it looking cool gets you dped… at the very end

Why is this called the Kuroda… Kuroda isn’t known for reset dash unders… >.> I don’t play this game but that looks pretty cool and in if done @ tournament, no doubt we would get hype on it.
BUT COULD YOU IMAGINE THE MINDGAMES?! It’s tied 99,999 to 99,999. c.LP FADC DASH UNDER!! Tiger Uppercut FADC BACKDASH TIGER KNEE FOR THE LOSS! Nice try, should have done first to 100,001.
In reference to Akuma not having EX meter until SFIV, this point is irrelevant. Akuma is one of the few characters to benefit highly from meter that doesn’t have an FADC to Ultra setup.
Kuroda was the guy who made the jab reset dash under more viable than any of Akuma’s other resets when he used them to OCV Boss’ team at an SBO qualifier a year and a half ago. No doubt the reset was known before Kuroda used Akuma, but he was the guy who brought it to prominence.
krondragon wins!!! I like your note in regards to Viper because the only reason I’m posting on this thread is because I did it almost by accident last night in the middle of the stage (not in the corner) and wanted to post up my findings…
i found that viper was the hardest of the cast to do it consistantly on. so for you to be able to have done it accidently in the middle of the stage is a little hard to believe (although i am not calling you a liar or saying that it didnt happen).
