I fired up XI last night cause I was talking to my friend for like 2 hours about it and I randomly understand the game a lot more and figured a bunch of stuff out that got me frustrated to begin with.
Kinda fucked around with my current team I used (Kula(L)/Iori/K) and basically started playing a new team which I really enjoy (Gato(L)/Yuri/Benimaru)
Unfortunately I’m kinda stuck playing c/d tier characters aside from gato cause they’re the only characters I feel comfortable playing with.
I just can’t really figure out/find any good quick shift combos with them, any help/thoughts/suggestions?
With Beni you can land jump-in, close C xx f+C xx D spin kicks and QS the 5th hit and they’re still grounded. You have to QS fast though.
Yuri has basically the same combo before the special (jump-in, close C xx d/f+D xx C Double Upper), and you can QS the second upper and then juggle with anything IIRC. I haven’t used her in a while, but I think you can also do low b, low a xx d/f+b (I forget what the normal is), then cancel into C Uppercut or Super.
If QS Yuri to Gato, you can probably do that Yuri combo, QS to Gato, reset or not, then ultimate juggle with D kick super xx LDM. I’m pretty sure that works.

I have no idea what the Hotaru infinite is supposed to be (probably something involving her juggles from her stances, I’d guess).
Isn’t EX Kyo’s infinite something like:
[Corner] Launch, (QCF+A, QCF+A, pause) x N??
Yes that’s EX Kyo’s.
Hotaru’s involves her jumping move and looping it because it causes enough stun or something.

Damn, quick shift combos are better than I thought!
I used to just combo into DM or super cancel into DM and then dream cancel into LDM… But quick shift combos just make much more sense to use imo. QS combo and then dizzy opp and then simple b&b. Although now I have to find those combos out on my own, it shouldn’t be a problem. Can anyone give insight?
Yea, the system is fairly simple. When I first started I was all “WOW!” when I saw some high level vids but they’re so simple. It’s just combos linked together with the qs and then into LDM or DM. After that it’s just you’re preference; it’s not too hard to find which combos do more stun damage or which ones do more regular damage. Probably the hardest thing to learn is quick shift juggle combos since if timed wrong you can end up crossing the guy up and messing up the whole combo from what I’ve seen in a few vids.
I dropped Yuri cause I never really found myself using her over Gato/Beni so I was fucking around with people last night and I came across Eiji.
He is fucking awesome
I figured out a lot of shit on my own w/o having to look stuff up here; which to me is a big improvement when it comes to understanding snk fighters since I usually suck at them.
But I’m really likeing Gato(L)/Eiji/Benimaru

QS combos are fun. I’m messing around with Kyo QS K’ or Oz QS K’ or Kyo. So many damn things to try.
Alright, anyone here actually REALLY good with OZ? I got down his LDM from virtually any scenario but since we don’t have any tourney’s for KOFXI here I want to learn the Infinite really well. Still waiting for Geese’s new vids.

his infinite is banned in tourney’s, don’t know if you still wanna learn it now. i believe it’s a 10 juggle limit so it’s best to make it a Ace finish.
Oh great! I hate infinites anyway! Now i have a reason to really learn Oz. Been landing that ace finisher more often.
