The King of Fighters XII Video Posting Thread

I can see how you want to lend your experience from your previous kofs but XII is really different from previous incarnations. You have to play it to understand, it just feels different (with a few exceptions like Shen’s s.A which is still good).

When you get the console try it yourself, you’ll see what I mean.

EDIT: Here’s another one, this one has two matches.

Warning! Warning!

HEADS UP YUHENG!! Don’t waste your time with this one, every other troll in SRK is fine but not this troll.

EDIT: Guys! Reynald, Duc, RJ, Yuheng, Jon before you bother trying to in making a serious discussion with this guy let me get you up to date.

**EMIL **is the biggest U.S. KOF SCENE HATER!!! Some people believe he is just a computer generated program design to bash and hate on us. Why? Because no one ever has met him in real life he has never attended any type of tournament, event or arcade he just talks shit, thinks he knows about KOF and how his logic is better than actual hands on experience.:xeye:

Thanks for the vid, that chin was really REALLY good

I love watching that Chin, Reynald! In a way, your play style remind me of what I want to get out of Bang in Blazblue, excep Chin has effective, solid weak moves to make openings, and Bang just feel like a slug, when people are close-up.

You do such a good job at keeping people exactly within his “limb” range, and your advances seem to be preformed with minimalized risk. The Mix-up rushdown on Sie was great, and I think it really shows how in XII, even the supposed “weaker” characters have a chance to really shine, when played to their personal strengths!

-KoF XII hype meter +10!-

Emil? Console? No way that’s happening. He won’t be able to use his keyboard.

ok, i seriously think KOF XII is better than SF4 now, as soon as they fix the tier thing it’d be perfect.

What tier thing?

Man he is just trying to converse, he just puts shit bluntly; there’s no need to be starting this shit. He is a strong player and just because he doesn’t spend money and time to travel around to play video games doesn’t mean his opinion is worthless.

Dude calm down, I already stated in another thread that the AI matches are still the best ones I’ve seen for kof12 (besides perhaps that one Yokohama match 11 that Dandy posted very recently).

I’m telling you what I’m seeing that is missing, you can ignore me if you want but that’s your problem when your gameplay isn’t evolving. It’s not even about where your scene happens to be located…before watching the AI matches, I noticed that the Japanese (and all other matches from other places I was seeing) were really crappy. It has nothing to do with just the region you’re playing in, it happens to do with the gameplay presented from the region. You just take it as “US hate” so you don’t have to bother to think about what I’m really criticizing you about.

Gameplay not evolving?? Are you a fuckin idiot or are you just watching the very first AI match over and over again? Maybe i should reiterate what i said on my last post… Play the game and maybe you’ll start to understand how retarded your comments are about the gameplay.

They nerfed clark steel too much, if they nerf grapplers i would be ok with, but goro daimon is not even close to nerfed.

yeah he got nerfed a bit too I think, he was top tier in previous titles

You seriously can’t be saying that KOF12 is evolving at a very good rate. It’s not anyone’s fault, it’s just that the game is not getting much play worldwide. How many regular, good players does it have at AI? 5? 10? 15? How about the average arcade in Japan? It’s not even on the top 10 in revenue. Compare those numbers to 500 good players or w/e in Japan when SFIV came out. That’s just how it is. Stuff like combos are getting figured out and the roll cancel and guard crush setups are getting more advanced, but the game definitely does not look nearly as sophisticated to me as let’s say 98…and I know all of yall played 98. So either it’s the game itself or the fact that it hasn’t come unto its own yet.

Thank you Reynald. You know what’s funny, Yuhang just mentioned that the other day at his place. How we thought we knew what the game was all about after a few weeks but in reality the way we are playing now is a lot different than back then and how deep this game really is. I believe is going to be a while before we see the true potential of the game.

Dandy J What do you mean by “strong player”? how are you measuring that? Oline post or something?

by playing him in kof

There are a lot of people in Japan that want to play KOF XII, but they want to wait till SBO is over. When I was playing at Seven Islands arcade I saw Mago there once and he was training his friend on how to use Sagat, but at the same time he kept on looking back at KOF XII and then my friend asked him about XII because my Japanese is shitty. Mago said the game looks really good and he wants to try it out when SBO is over.

If you read Emil’s post again, he’s not implying that KOF XII isn’t evolving he’s stating that the AIs gameplay isn’t. This should have nothing to do with sales of the game in general etc.

Did you read the rest of my post or just that one line?

I don’t think I’ve even seen the very first AI match btw, but yeah you totally missed what I said but I’ll reiterate - the AI matches are still the best I’ve seen with exception of maybe Yokohama match 11 (but that was just one match). However, my comment that people are just letting opponent get free offense on them still stands.

I didn’t word it right anyway. I’m saying things are being ignored, resulting in lack of evolution in gameplay. You could be (and are) evolving in other ways, but I was specifically talking about lack of anti-air when hops are being started.

Bleh, if you don’t want people to point out things in your videos, then keep them private.

Sounds promising. I sure hope there’s a lot of interest after SBO.

This isn’t day 1 on the intraweb for me heh, so of course I know that by posting our videos we would susceptible to scrutiny, we don’t mind that.

Now I just want to stress that initially, I too thought that a lot of the old KOF mechanics/strategies would work, but we were so wrong. Something to do with the jumps arcs are different that throws the “pace” off so it’s harder to stop hops, I can’t just quite pinpoint what it is.

Also, I would rate this game deeper than OG '98
(after I started to really understand XII’s game better) but not as deep as '98UM IMO.
