Yes you do…you get to beat on him just like the arcade.
The credits roll etc just like in the AW version.
Vega Omega you should come to EVO Worlds to do battle for the KOFNW National Title…
Its on the line…

Bump!!! Its been a long time coming but I want to keep this thread alive and keep this game going…I will use this thread to post NeoWave CMVS…And all the match vids for this upcoming season…I hope everyon enjoys!!!
Just because NGBC and KOFXI are out doesnt mean we need to forget about this game!!
Dont like the controls? Get a PS2 Saturn pad because as BloodyStag has seen…your execution will improve and it will almost feel like KOFXI!!!
-Dark Geese
Al lets, redo the tiers and Groove Rankings shall we??
Should we fill in the wiki also??
i think the 2k2 or 98 wiki’s are more deserving of attention right now, although that young geese article needs updating.
Holy Resurrection Batman!
I’ll update the Young Geese article because its certainly very old…
What’s this about a PS2 Saturn pad that makes execution easier? Please enlighten me as I can’t really pull off as much bnb stuff on my PS2 pad and I have no idea if a stick works better with this game.
It truly does make your execution at least 10x better. When I play NeoWave it feels like I am playing KOFXI…no execution problems whatsoever…even on 2002 for PS2 doesnt matter…no execution problems whatsoever!!
Here’s some tiers that Rogueyoshi put up a while back…
http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=3255242&postcount=197
Do you still agree with these tiers?
Also where would you put Angel, May Lee, O. Rugal etc? I say Angel and May Lee are probably A Class now after playing some more in Mexico in NeoWave…
I also say at least for now the S Class should be in this order-
#1-Choi (Best in MAX2, arguably the best MAX2 in the game)
#2-Young Geese ( Benefits insanely good from SC,Best in SC Groove, but still a beast in MAX2)
#3- Saisyu (Best in MAX2 arguably but still a beast in SC)
#4- Jhun (SC Mode he’s best in, unblockables galore)
Main difference is Young Geese moving ahead of Saisyu for the #2 spot.
While Walking to UP today, me and yoshi discussed Neowave. He no longer things chin to be the most useless character, in fact playing against him I think I’ve proven it’s not the case? Why? Guard Cancel Groove on Chin is beastly. Just Defend into Fire super, not to mention you start off with full meter, and in SC he can use it to punish ANYTHING, and it does massive damage. He deserves to be a lot higher up. Not high tier, but mid or something. At LEAST In Guard Cancel. His Guard Cancel DM (Takes two meters) Is pretty damaging too. He may be limited, but if oyu use his normals the right way, he’s so STUPID with meter, cancel off C or A to punish ANYTHING.
I can see that…heres a queston though…should Angel, May Lee, Seth be tournament legal??
They really arent broken…
I’d say once again that May Lee and Angel are A Class in this game and at the top of A Class…with the S Class giving them the most fits…
I wouldn’t mind them in, isn’t Billy in this game? I don’t see him in the tier listings.
How is shermie that high and joe that low? I also dont think that Chin is that low. Maybe its because people dont use him as much?? At anyrate chin has some real good normals and he does allot of damage. But he does suffer from range issues.
Can anyone give me any strats for Angel in neowave? (is she legal?)
Geese- you have vids of mexican neowave Angel matches? only ones i have are from nest Zero from years ago.
Nope dont have many NeoWave vids…thats why I am going to make some…and I was actually going to make some Angel vids myself actually…
Billy is about midtier actually…
The thing is that Angel, K9999 and May Lee aren’t even in Neowave as far as I know. In fact, they haven’t appeared outside KOF 2001 and 2002 since Eolith was primarily responsible for those games. It’s a whole bunch of legal mumbo jumbo but IIRC, once SNK got itself out of the bankruptcy rut and back on its feet as SNK Playmore, they went on developing more KOF games without those three mentioned characters since they are the legal intellectual property of Eolith and not SNK Playmore.
Dunno if the same applies for Foxy who only appears in KOF 2001 but got mentioned in KOF 2000 during story mode endings and stuff.
You know I dont really have a issue with NW but a lot of folks still prefer 02 to it…never really understood why.
Angel appears in the PS2 version of neowave. She was cut out of the Xbox version for whatever reason.
Embryo - Probably because 2002 is somewhat simpler? One type of power gauge (that works like a mix of Extra and Advanced Modes) and people can still pull off Angel’s Chain Combos, spam K9999’s normals and have fun using Kusanagi and May Lee (let’s face it… she would be SNK’s Gen, with the two different combat styles in one thing and loads of fun to play once mastered). Of course, there’s no Saisyu, Shingo, Jhun, Young Geese or King but I think they’re willing to live with it.
no9176 - Angel’s actually in the PS2 version? I’ll have to look into it. SNK must have paid quite a sum to Eolith to borrow her for that one port as a gift to their fans. And Gundam X FTW! That’s probably my favourite Gundam series of all time.
On the contrary…NeoWave is tougher than 2002…not everyone can do MAX mode combos ala 2002…also Just Defense makes the game have more replay value as well.
Angel, May Lee, Seth, Kusanagi, Omega Rugal (Way toned down) and others are in the PS2 NeoWave…that is the Ultimate version…the XBOX version got snubbed…
Angel and May Lee are in the PS2 port and yet no K9999… how funny is that?
Omega Rugal got nerfed?! How?? He was pretty beastly in 02!
