It has a delay when it starts up…train yourself to see the delay and do a move that has inv. frames also…and with your team of Geese and Kula in your av your choices are…
a. Geese-Deadly Rave-obvious choice aint it??
b. Kula-The fearsome move everyone in XI loves to hate…Freeze Execution HSDM…
The best way to set up (Robert users) that super is off a reset in the corner, that makes it nigh unescapable…on wakeup not so much bc of the fact that if you see the delay then you know when to roll…but it you roll when he does the super youll get hit because he goes into a stance then delays doing the super…
I am a Robert master. Here is the perfect set up.
Do the D grab and then the HSDM right afterward. YOu can’t escape it. Or Genei Kyaku. 85% of the time the cpu can’t roll in time.
Oh yeah thats a setup I see NGBC people use also…works like a charm in both I think hehehe…
I hear yah…Rob’s a decent tier in NGBC also…lets see what he does in Hyper KOF XI for the Console…oR KOF XI-NGBC Edition…lol.
The prob with Rob (lol) is that Not many of his moves can be S. Canceled in NGBC. But I give SNK credit. His new Genei Kyaku in NGBC is a lot safer seeing as it is one kick and if blocked, pushes him back far enough so he won’t be punished.
Back on Neowave, my best team is team Kicking Fiend (jhun/Kim/Pimp Masta G Max2 mode). The fact that i lost the roll puts a slight damper in Kim’s Setup for the Point Blank Phoenix Kick. But A small jump rectifies that. Jhun’s HSDM is a savior and it’s a good way to get a free taunt.

also, i know, some might look like they may be in wierd spots, i will be happy to explain my view on why I think they belong there, because, as i mentioned before, i’ve found some things that might change the way you might play some of these characters.
BTW: this kind of tier listing is sort of flawed. a better breakdown would have to be by modes.
#1 So you think Jhun is better than Choi??? Now I understand Jhun certainly being S Class…as you do too…I remember trying to tell Dark Zero that but if he gets you in the corner if its a Jhun expert man you could die like a million ways…
But then again a May Lee / Angel expert could do the same to you as well…

#4- I know Whip in SC is murder…but the thing is most people aren’t gonna dedicate enough time to mastering all her exquisite SC cancel stuff…that makes her a SC murderer…
#5- What about SC Andy? I’m sure you know by now about all the tricks he can do…
#6-Also where would you place Kyo and why?? Kyo in NW is great practice for Xi because of his ability to cancel the df+D…
#7-Also where would you place Billy/Kusanagi and why?
#8-What do you think about SC Vice?? She can actually do some good stuff and why do you think she is almost rock bottom in this game (In comparison to 2k2 if you’ve played it where she was like Mid tier (high)

#1 & 2: you’re right. choi is braindead easy and effective, hes is ultra tops for sure. my bad.
#3: iori loses SOO much in his transition from 2k2 to NW, he still has his old school style mixup bullshit, but no real damage. while kula on the other hand can do great damage with NO METER. also, kula’s pokes are just good. its easy to verify an RF combo of of them.
#4: you’re right. i mean why waste time learing the delicate playstyle of whip when you could pick someone like king or yashiro and just produce raw damage. she gets demoted
#5: andy should be promoted to high-mid, right below king.
#6: kyo is a definite mid tier character, even though he can do some beastly stuff in the corner, it takes learning for setups and the iffy timings. i dont believe i overlooked him!
#7: even though billy supposedly got worse, the ability to freecancel from that counter is great. also kusanagi should be right above kyo, as hes easier to use in SC mode.
#8: im just going by what i know from 2k2 for her. but what i do know is that like 99% of the cast can make nice use of SC mode, and just i’ve never seen anything spectacular about vice.

#1-Question about in your opinion after playing a while about the match-ups in the S Class- What do you think about the matchup of Geese-Saisyu???
If Geese has SC-Mode I think Saisyu is in trouble…this could be a very bad matchup for Saisyu if Geese has 3 supers because we all know DR will crush any of Saisyu’s HH attacks.
Bc we know the cookie cutter typical Saisyu loves to HH all the time bc his HH attacks are all good…but they are all futile against the mighty Deadly Rave…which means if Saisyu or anyone wants to HH all day and you got 3 DR’s their character will be out in seconds…

#8 It has been said that Kusanagi does not have any effective SC-mode comboes…I like you disagree and I find out that it does not take much for Kusanagi to do damage with very few cancels…
#9 Are you aware of all the backdash things every character can do?? (like Iori’s backdash back+b, Athenas backdash backdash down+b, Mai’s backdash down+a, Kyo/Kusanagi’s backdash df+C) And in order from greatest to least how would you rate the effectiveness of each one for situations?**
#10-We all know Daimon is good in MAX2 Mode, and he is good in SC Mode also with some veyr tricky corner whiffing destructive things he can do…which of those two grooves do you think is best for him??? (SC bc he has roll?)
#11- How important do you think at a high level is IHA (My term for Instant Heat Activation how in combos it will take your damage to a higher level I’m sure you’ve seen the vids)???
#12- What do you think about Leona now? I’ve seen how they botched her 2k2 combo and it’s funny bc some combo vids try to show the combo “still comboes”…I think it doesnt…what has been your experience with that? How often do you morph into Orochi Leona?? I morph everytime my health gets at 10%
#13 At the beginning Robert was ranked A Class because of the tactic it takes people a while to master-IHA, bc he has one combo in the middle he could IHA to and it made him do serious damage.what is your experience with that…IHA takes a while to master…even if you macro the Heat button…it takes a while to master and be able to do it on command in the middle of your combos… What has been your experience with that??
