I think Regular King might give Krauser some trouble, she’s hard to get in on as well, her HCB+A might counter the dual sobat, and she can double fireball to counter Krauser’s fireball game. Unsure how well her jump CD would work on Krauser though.
Here’s some things I have noticed from Krauser vs. Choi vids. Where the fuck is Pharon? He plays Choi.
Choi has to be careful in the air because of the all that was just mentioned. Careful counters as well as, DR super will hurt. Kaiser Wave will catch Choi at times as well.
However, if Krauser messes up any of these, then Choi gets a free ranbu combo plus wake up, which if Choi has a life lead, it will be hard to hit him in most cases for any character.
I would say that the more Krauser keeps Choi out of the air, the better chance he has of winning. If Choi gets a life lead though, it can be difficult to comeback on him, but Krauser can do it.
Hmmm thanks Arstal and CooCoos.
I think Choi’s best weapon here (in theory from listening to you all) is his crossover C and superjumping…because why? That (Crossover C) will screw up your inputs putting in either Kaiser Wave, Counter, or DR via crossing up your inputs! Also yeah about the corner crossover glitch…KOFXI has one also…but it may be different…where sometimes you can block crossups in the corner after a character dies and sometimes they are UNBLOCKABLE…
Its a glitch you can take advantage of. Does anything like this work in the corner in 98UM?
Also Superjumping works great vs. YG in NeoWave with Choi. It can cause missed DR attempts!!!
He can kaiser wave through both projectiles. Also, most krausers cancel their normals into projectiles, if you try to counter that with a double fireball after he has cancelled his normal into the projectile, he might actually recover first after his fireball is negated and be able to kaiser wave through the second…not sure but it might be possible.
I can’t believe how damn good Eiji’s projectile super is…there is NO fireballing that should be done against Eiji with meter.
There was something about crossups in this game, but I don’t think it was that.
I’ve come to find out that my main team (EX Yuri, Leona, EX King), has mad Krauser issues. And I’m playing a secondary team now as well, which is EX Geese, EX Mary, Eiji. Team is mad fun.
I was wondering about that because Emil brought up a good point…EX King revolves around her fireballs and her DR like super…but Krauser with meter takes away all that…FROM FULL SCREEN…
Has anyone found out a character that Eiji can shut down in the top tier yet? (In KOFXI he is like the perfect Kula counter)
I’m asking all these questions now because you won’t see me asking alot when the game hits my house…lol.
Also it seems EX Geese has mad Krauser/Rugal issues also…
-Dark Geese
So has a tier list been made yet?
Actually Eiji with an Extra Gauge is VICIOUS. He can wreck shop big time on a number of characters. He isn’t a perfect counter to anyone I don’t think, but he can fight the top tier pretty well because of how safe most of his stuff is.
Yes the tops has already been posted a while back… Its:
Banned:
Orochi, Orochi Iori/Leona, Goenitz, Omega Rugal.
Iori, Krauser, EX King, EX Geese, Geese, Yuri, Daimon, Kyo, O. Chris…I would argue EX Yuri from just what I’ve seen is tops also.
Hmm this is interesting…so that means he’s solid overall and has the utensils to fight the top tier…this is good to know!
heres one i made a couple weeks ago, chars in the same section are in no order (ignore the numbers)
Yuri? I hadn’t heard that one…I’ve heard Choi though.
Rugal is easily upper tier, from what I’ve noticed. Canceling his far moves is nice and all…but I think what really boosted him was the fact that Genocide Cutter is actually good for antiair.
And man, I can agree with Eiji. As soon as he gets meter, it changes the entire match. That fireball super can punish so much, so easily. He’s solid without it, but once he gets meter he’s scary. A guy I know currently near Tokyo was saying that Eiji’s game falls apart if you can get in close on him. Not that I’ve really noticed…
Also, apparently no one uses Kasumi in Japan? I’m kind of surprised by that, since I’ve been playing around with her, and she seems solid too. He’s also saying that Athena and Brian are pretty good too…even though no one there really uses Brian aside from him.
That looks like an old list- seeing Big and Geese a lot lower then where they’re considered to be right now.
I can agree entirely with this since I am an Eiji player. Eiji (as I see him) is basically got a move for anyone trying to get in on him and every far side situation. Jump ins, roll/dodge punishment, projectiles, anything. He’s a zoner’s wet dream. But a zoner that good must have a downside to him, he doesnt have anything to get him out of the corner or anything to get people off him that are close range (except maybe 236A) but yeah the main Eiji player’s concern is to just zone and occasionally move them into a corner. Eiji’s corner game is rape if people mash/are desperate to get out of the corner.
Eiji should try to save his meter for CD cancels/GC rolls then.
In extra mode- do chars like Eiji and Takuma dash still, or do they hop now?
His standing jab is very good for stuffing hops from close range. Also his jump speed as well as the speed of a lot of his jump attacks, are pretty good, so he can air to air well to get him out of some corner trouble.
Why is Eiji a beast in Extra mode? I think he’d be weaker with Extra’s super bar and hops instead of dash. Eiji with dodge, run, ADV bar seems like the best choice.
It seems that all the videos I’ve seen of him, most use the extra gauge and a then run, then dodge/roll depending on the player.
With the ADV gauge, if you have a good battery, you can put him second or third and he can sit on stock all day and wreck shop. Hell you could even start him in some cases, but it’s clear that he’s way better with meter stocked.
With the changes to the Extra gauge though and with it charging way faster, He seems to never be without a stock to use, so team wise you could put him anywhere, and wreck shop. Also, it seems like when you hit a super on them, you get at least a half a second to charge, and with how fast the meter goes, you can get somewhere between 40-70% charged.
I guess it’s a matter of preference in the end. I play him with Extra gauge and it’s pretty fun.
Emil: That’s the same combo I use in Ultimate mode (R/D/ADV). But thanks for the advice.
i guess. i just dont see what makes geese to be considered so strong. he is good, but i dont think he is up there with krauser and co. that goes double for mr big.
We’re seeing a lot of Geeses place in SBO, he’s got stuff obviously.
Big he’s not NGBC big, but I think he’s got about 80-90% of NGBC’s potential, which should be good enough for somewhere in A tier.
I don’t think the difference between S and A is that huge, and A and B,C,D are tiny. I really want to know if Billy takes extra damage like he did, if he doesn’t anymore, he’s going to be very underrated. He can keep out like a mofo.
big has right above zero combos. he’s really just a poke character. So as long as your not retarded and run at him… just play it safe and counter shit, its not that big a problem. Definitely not like ngbc big.
Also just because there are a bunch of people using geese at sbo doesn’t make him top tier, he’s just a popular character.
