Foxy! I really like the character select screen, although some of the portraits seem a bit off (Chang looking kinda bishie there). Good to see that only K9999 couldn’t make it in, too.

I didn’t even know this game existed until 30 minutes ago (thanks Hatred Edge). I’m definitely importing - I’m not waiting for the domestic release.

Info on Nameless:

Fat Cat Lim (a mod from Orochinagi) is in Tokyo for the TGS and he has some Impressions from Nameless…

Fat Cat LimNameless IS basically K9999...but with a different sprite. I was thinking who the hell he was and when I played him, I realized that he had all of K9999 moves, lol. But some moves have been given different properties and animation.

- Nameless standing animation is rather lame. Makes him look quite stiff.

- His uppercuts (DP P) have longer range and different animation.

- QCF P have improved range and different animation.

- QCB K have improved range and...uh, yeah. you get the idea.

- His 1632143 P super now appears as a pillar of reddish fire. Looks and feel like it has shorter range.

- Dwn K is a sweep, while DF K is his slide. His Dwn C is still the same, but I don't think it sweeps anymore.

Will try out more of him tomorrow just to see if he retained his tentacle and shooting supers. SNK says the game is currently 65% complete, but all of the characters were available for play. Maybe they still need to test for bugs - some background music was interrupted when changing rounds. Oh yeah, the Sharp monitors they used for the game was really shitty - the game colors looked horribly washed out and appeared even more pixelated.

I can’t complain about that. This design looks better and it retains K9999’s basic gameplay, which I liked. Hopefully he’s more powerful than his predecessor too.

Curiosity: the 4 random slots + the space in the middle of the screen add up to exactly the full KOF roster, not missing a single character.

Not holding my breath, but it would certainly be awesome.

The new backgrounds look so much better, I know it’s not all that important, but I hated all of the KoF2k2 backgrounds. Now just gotta hope for the music.

K9999 was pretty broke in kof2k2, the only reason he wans’t top tier because of the really high execution/reaction speed requirement.

There are 54 characters that we know for sure are going to be in the game.

They said there were going to be 64 characters so 12 slots are up for grabs.

Rugal is going to be in there obviously. Geese and Goenitz are more than likely in there seeing as they were in home versions of 2k2.

The only roster decision I though was flat out stupid was the inclusion of an entire team of Kyo clones.

Why in all hell would you allocate a space for Bao and leave out space for something better like the sports team, 96 Boss team or a team that gives the player AIDS?
