Something that’s been bothering me about that one: for his punch DM he says “aaAAH-Ki Dome-AAAAAAH!”, right? Cuz he makes a defensive dome out of his ki for that move. I’ve never seen any mention of this phrase online, even in speech translations. Everyone claims he just says “Tsuki…”, even the great Kao Megura. Wtf?
According to the 2002 mook, K9999 says “GA-KI-DO-MO!” (gakidomo), which (if animelab and my meagre knowledge of Japanese are to be trusted) translates to “Those/you damn kids/brats!” It certainly meshes well with his other lines (which are mainly angry interjections.)
SNK finally releasing games in the US (at a regular price…not Neo Geo MVS days price) is lovely.

damn i really loved the RBS pheonix of kim. it was always a fucking nice combo ender if you had it full, the bird sound always gave me the chills. back in 96 this shit was always in my neo.
Damn, they changed a lot of the HSDMs - Maxima, Goro, Yuri…Kim’s seems to be the same, just with a different ending, and K’ just has different graphics.
Here’s hoping for Young Geese as a bonus character, along with everyone who was in the console releases of 2002 (Orochi Iori, Goenitz, etc.).
